Trista laughed at Marduke's statement. She turned then, down to her plate and picked up a fork and started to eat a few links of sausage, making sure to send little pieces down to Roxy on the floor under the table.

"I started playing Quidditch at a young age," Sephie said. "See, i didn't come to Hogwarts until 4th year. I went to this private magical school before then, starting when i was 10. We were allowed to play Quidditch there. Mind you, none of us were very good, because we were so young. Chaser's always been my best position though," she said smiling. Sephie took a long drink from her goblet.

"Here's to a term with Quidditch then," Ginger said with a smile, raising her goblet with apple juice at the girls, as if she were toasting. " Have any of you girls noticed the lack of school ghosts this morning?" She asked, as she watched the Great Hall still being fairly empty, most noticably of the silvery white appearances.

Naira glanced up at the enchanted ceiling as she went into the Great Hall. "Home sweet home." She looked around to see that everyone had eaten was talking. She looked down and tried to rub some dirt off of her robes. "Oh boy, it's gonna be one long term." She sighed and took a seat next to her fellow Gryffindors.

"Maybe they're over sleeping as well." Trista laughed as she said this and glanced around the hall. She had noticed the absense of the ghosts, although there was an absense of more than half the school as well this morning.

"As should we have." Trista and Roxy both let out a short yawn in unison. "Eh, oh well. I think I'd rather wake up earlier and be awake for the morning rather than be so tired from waking up in a rush." Trista continued to eat her breakfast and took occasional sips from her goblet of tea.

"Well, there are a few more students at my house table now," Sephie said, turning and looking at the Gryffindor table. "And i hadn't noticed it, but you're right, Ginger. I don't see any ghosts around." Sephie took a few bites of her breakfast and stroked her cat Binks, who had just come up to the table. "Did any of you notice that a lot of the teachers this year are relatives of the students? I mean, i feel bad for you two," she said, looking at Marduke and Ginger.

Trista looked at Sephie. "Yes, I have noticed all the relations. I think it would be interesting to have a relative of mine teach though, the ones who i get along with that is. What happened between you and your sister Ginger?" Trista fed more sausage to Roxy who had jumped up on the bench beside her.

"Relatives are evil," Ginger said darkly, without looking back up at the teachers' table. "Or at least my sister is. Well, my whole family, really. I don't get on well with any of them. " Looking around her to see if there were any unwanted eavesdroppers, she shrugged. " I was happy to come to Hogwarts, thinking I'd finally be rid of them. But then Chelsea announced that she was going to be teaching. Within no time she was Head of Slytherin house, and now she's Headmistress. Power-hungry, she is." She muttered quietly, almost pushing over her glass from sheer frustration, yet restraining herself just in time.

"Like i said," Persephone added, noticing Ginger's anger. "I feel bad for you two." She took another drink from her goblet and shook her head. "God, if my aunt or uncle started teaching here i'd hang myself. after my parents' death, all they do is go on and on about how they got what was coming to them because they were aurors and they were practically asking for it and blah blah blah. They'd spend the whole lesson lecturing kids about how they should be nannies or work behind a desk somewhere because it's safe, instead of giving of themselves to protect others. truth is, they were just jealous of my parents because they had an exciting life and they were respected and they actually had friends. I can just hear them now. 'see, perse-fone? this is what you should be studying, how to be a teacher! now watch me do it so you'll see how safe it is.'" Persephone realized she was ranting, so she speared a sausage on her plate with her fork and put it in her mouth.

"Safety is for chumps." Trista giggled as she looked at Persephone and smiled. "As long as you're proud of your parents, Sephie, that's all that matters. Though i almost can't believe your relatives would say things like that, it's horrid." Trista shook her head and took another gulp from her goblet. "As for Chelsea, Ginger, I have no idea. Maybe it's not so great to have a relative here. You could always just close your eyes and pretend she's not there." Trista gave her a warm smile, then laughed. She fed the last of her sausage to Roxy, then took another drink of her tea. "Oh what fun this year will be."

"Nobody in my family ever was anything but Slytherin." Ginger said thoughtfully, thinking whom of her family she actually liked. After a few seconds of silence, she decided there was no one she liked, and gave it up as a lost cause. "I'm nothing like them, and I still got sorted here. My genes are rotten," She said simply, with an attempt at a smile. She herself did not believe you needed to be evil to the core to get sorted in Slytherin, but that didn't mean she wouldn't have liked to be in any of the other three houses. "And your relatives sound horrible too, Persephone," She added. "At least mine don't try keeping me safe. Although they try doing me in, so that's pretty much the opposite."
