By this point Akane felt like SHE was the one banging her head against the wall. She knew Amai was a tough girl but that didn't exactly cover the present situation. The attack was aimed high, a quick duck under the clothes line was easy enough but that alone wouldn't stop this freight train she'd gotten into a fight with. What to do? For the time Akane conserved her energy and waited for the next attack.

Amai passed over Akane's head, so she backhands the back of Akane's head as she turns around to face the girl, a leg coming up to push the middle of her back. Amai had to fight for her life so often she couldn't stand loosing. Loosing meant death. To her. To her gang. To another. And this little girl. Who had lived a cushy, safe life with friends and family and parents thought she could defeat HER?! .... Wait. Why was she getting so mad? It wasn't Akane's fault. She wasn't on the street. She was about to get in trouble! Ban wouldn't like that. Anyway... Wasn't she suppose to be cooling off? She stops a little hesitantly, arms lowering into a normal stance. Not aggressive, not defensive. She takes a few calming breaths and winces, a hand going to her side. "Um. Sorry." She mumbles, feeling kind of awkward and not looking at Akane.

Akane was confused by the pause, the deep breaths, and especially by the apology. Quickly she straightened up and bowed to her opponent, while her head was down she said "don't mention it." She stood and looked to Mr. Roosevelt who until this point had an interesting look on his face of either surprise, worry, or impressed by what he saw. The likely answer was probably a mix of all three. "Thank you sensai." She bowed to the man respectfully and motioned for Amai to follow her as she left the training room.

Amai stole a few sideways glances at Akane, so noticed her motion elsewhere. She hesitated, an excuse half formed, but decides against it. She had gone a little rough on the girl... And she seemed nice enough... She follows Akane out, musing to herself. Maybe they could be friends? As long as Akane didn't drag her into fighting invisible monsters. Hm.... Maybe this was a bad idea.

Once the two girls made it outside Akane ducked around a corner with Amai. She wasn't sure how to put this delicately so she spoke plainly "What was that flash earlier while we were sparring? It looked like a spark of electricity or something. When did that start?" The girls eyes had returned to normal by this time and she honestly seemed tired, but even more than that, concerned.

Amai looked confused. "What flash? Did someone take a picture? ... Why would that matter?" She leans her side into the wall, arms crossed under her chest. A picture of her fighting could get her in trouble, but Akane wouldn't know about her arrangement. And the girl sounded concerned. Hm. Electricity? That would be.. more of a blue light then a camera flash... right? Amai's face scrunched up in thought. "I don't know. I didn't see it. Must not have been big. And no one was hurt. So..." She shrugs.

Akane's face wrinkles up a little trying to figure out what it was. There's no way that was a camera flash, her new eyes would have been able to tell a flash of light in the background from a small arch of electricity. Oh well, if Amai didn't know what was going on then there was really nothing to actually investigate, so instead "you doing ok Amai? Sorry your ribs, I didn't want to take advantage of that but you were really intense back there."

Amai actually looks embarrassed. "Yeah... Sorry about that." She shrugs, brushing off the question. Her ribs did hurt like hell, Akane gave a solid kick to it, but she was ignoring the pain and didn't want to admit to it. "I'm use to more.. 'fight for your life' situations. Heh. So I'm not very good at playing nice."
"Sorry." She shifts a little uncomfortable. She also wasn't use to apologizing and would have asked if Akane was alright, but nothing really landed on her. It did show Amai something though. She needed to cool her rage. If she had come across trained fighters more often, she wouldn't have made it as long as she had on the streets. Fighting with emotions wasn't the best way to do it. Akane wasn't far along yet Amai had such trouble with her. She needed to be calm so she could fight.... Which sounded completely backwards.

Akane wasn't sure how to react to 'fight for your life situations'. It sounded awfully serious. "No worries, it seems at least I've got a firm enough understanding of defense, but you're clearly better at taking a beating than I am by a long shot." She smiled a little bit. Akane really wasn't sure how to feel about this girl, if she should just let things go entirely or if she should try to make friends after all. Between the two there was little in common and in fact they honestly seemed to be in more ways than not practically polar opposites. She wasn't even sure if they COULD be friends, let alone if they would be... But she decides to try again, it was about lunch time anyway "Hungry?"

Amai smiled at the complement. Ignoring pain wasn't that hard. Once you got use to it. She unconsciously rubbed at the burn mark on her wrist, but stopped as soon as she realized it. Blink. Lunch? "Uh. Sure?" Was she trying to become a friend? Amai didn't know how she felt about that. She hadn't planned on making friends here. But it could be helpful. But then would Akane expect her to get involved in the fighting? Hm. This could be bad. But. Lunch was lunch, right? She motioned towards the main building before falling in beside Akane. "So. Did you learn to fight here? From that jacka** of a teacher?"

Akane nods "My hand to hand training has all been here, but I've been getting kendo training, some with my father for a number of years now. I'm no where near as good unarmed as I am with a training sword... I've been waiting to get started with a real blade but I'm told I shouldn't be too eager to use something that comes with so much responsibility." She shrugs and opens up the door to the main hall as they carry on conversation. "They've had one ready for me for a number of years now. I've held it, but have not been allowed to swing it yet. In due time I suppose."
