As his eyes met with his new master's, Pael felt a strange sense of pride well up in his chest. He had made the right decision, he was sure of it. "I'll find them, sir, and I won't lose them like the droid!" He turns to leave, then pauses, remembering something Kako had told him to say. Slightly reluctantly, he looks at both of the temple masters and bows slightly, "Thank you for allowing me into your Academy," he states. He then turns slightly to face the Sith Master entirely, "and thank you for taking me into your temple," he says, bowing again. Having waited as long as his impatient 10-year-old mind could stand, he quickly exits the room to search for other students. Jeeze, he thinks to himself, Why did I promise Kako I would do that? It was... EMBARRASING.

His first day. His first day and he was already late to something, and that was a horrible, horrible thing. He was likely one of the few of his kind that actually knew that, but being raised by a paranoid Twi'lek smugger could do that to a boy, couldn't it? He tried to stay calm, but being late was such a huge taboo in their lifestyle... what if he made a bad impression? What if they didn't like him? What if he got kicked out?

Poor Jhordaan knew almost nothing about the Temples. Oh, that ... Sith fellow told him some things, but most of it was directed at his father, not himself. Why? He wasn't sure. All he knew was that he was here because of his apparent Force sensitivity (really, him? Why?) and because that man told Father some things that he wasn't sure of.

Not that it was really surprising; no one ever told him anything. He still wasn't told anything! The only thing he did know was that he was supposed to put on this ... this robe thing and report to some council room. And somewhere along the line he was supposed to tell someone that he wanted to be a Sith. That's what Father told him, anyway, and that person did tell him a little bit about them. It didn't sound so bad. He didn't really know too much about the Jedi; from what he'd been told, they were all stuck up and boring.

Didn't sound very exciting.

Realising he'd just run past the room he was (pretty) sure he needed to be in, Jhordaan skidded to a halt. However, he wasn't quite accustomed to the feel of the new shoes, and he wound up flailing and nearly falling over as he tried to turn. Ever so graceful.

In time, he did manage to make it into the room, flustered and panting softly as he did so. Immediately, he felt... rather out of place. He was so undignified, wasn't he?

Wasn't his fault he was raised as a smuggler! Not that anyone could know that.

"H...hello...?"

"Hello kiddo. Better late than never I suppose." The Sith Master greeted with a touch of sarcasm. He was about to say more when a sharp glance from Sva'La stopped him.

"Greetings Jhordaan, Welcome to the Temple." The Togruta female said in a much friendlier voice. "We apologize for the delay in your transportation, but we are pleased to see you have made it. This is the council room. I am Sva'La, the Jedi Master." With a motion of her hand, Sva'La introduced the elderly man as the Sith Master, Char Langui. "We are looking forward to beginning your training, but first things first." The Jedi Master paused to allow Char Langui to step in and continue to introduction. The Sith Master adjusted his cloak before beginning.

"Before you can start your training you must choose your alignment: Jedi or Sith. Sva'La and I are here to answer any questions you may have so that you can make an informed decision. This is not something to rush into, so ask your questions, now's your chance."

"Oh I um... I'm s-sorry... it wasn't just ... that. I was running late. Father's ship..."

Jhordaan stopped himself there, panting softly as he stared at the two Masters. If his skin could've turned redder, it would have, but as it were he simply felt the hot flush of embarrassment on his cheeks. He straightened himself after a few moments, grunting under his breath as he struggled to regain his composure; the woman was so... calm, wasn't she? Unlike anything he'd ever felt before. And the smaller man... the boy didn't know what to think of him, either. He didn't know what to think of either of them. Their emotions, his emotions, all of them were spinning, leaving him dizzy for a few brief moments as he tried to control himself.

It was difficult as a Zeltron. Why couldn't people just be happy all the time? He wished that was possible... or that he was like Father. Father couldn't feel other people.

"O-oh!" The youngling grinned a bit and rubbed at the side of his face nervously, brows lifting as he gazed first at the Jedi Master, then the Sith. "I... I already made my decision. I-I want to be a Sith... b-but I must admit I d-don't know too much about the J-jedi. Just hearsay..."

"Well, you've already made the best decision" The elder man grinned, suddenly seeming much more friendly towards the lad before him. "The Sith Temple welcomes you--"

"Unless you would like to know more about the Jedi path." Sva'La interjected again. "Of course, I will not pressure you or attempt to push my own bias." The togruta female threw another glance at her counterpart as she placed the emphasis on the latter part of her sentence. "If this is your final choice, than that is also acceptable. If you have no further questions, you are free to leave. I encourage you to check the Main Room and the Courtyard and introduce yourself to some of you peers. Otherwise, we can answer any further questions you may have."

Jhordaan couldn't help but laugh a little, picking up on the sudden wave of friendliness from the old man. He liked that, much more than the sternness of the woman. It was more his style; even though he'd not grown up on his home planet, he was still what he was! He couldn't help but be more amicable towards someone who wasn't so...

Calm. It was creepy, in a way, though he couldn't explain why. Perhaps because he could feel it. He much preferred the warmer glow of the apparent Sith than that ... Jedi. Still, he wanted to make a good impression, didn't he?

"Uhm..." Golden eyes tilted from the short man, to the tall female, then he offered a small smile. "I do know a fair bit about the Sith already... ah..." He hesitated, furrowing his brow briefly as he struggled with the word. He could speak Basic, obviously, it was the first language he'd been taught to both understand and use, but he was still young. The finer points of conversation weren't yet mastered by him.

"I do wanna know more about the Jedi, just t-to know," he decided, trying to quell his stutter. Father always yelled at him about that, and he hated when anyone was angry. "I don't know what their ... their ... um... what's the word? Phil... phi... y'know, how they look at life!" he decided, apparently becoming exasperated with his own inability to speak. Father was so eloquent when he wanted to be.

"Is it okay if I ask questions even if I've made my decision?" His brows lifted and he fidgeted a little in worry. He wasn't sure what he was and wasn't supposed to do.

"It's fine" The woman assured the young zeltron boy. "I'd be more than happy to give you the Jedi in a nutshell. The Jedi still have the same values and principles of the Jedi Order long ago. The Jedi are trained to be skilled negotiators in addition to warriors. Our primary purpose is maintaining peace and harmony throughout the galaxy. When situations arise, we often step in to facilitate a solution to the problem." The Jedi Master paused to let her initial explanation sink in before continuing. "The primary difference between the Jedi and the Sith is our process of accessing and using the Force. To the Jedi, the Force is a constant ally. Jedi access the force not through their emotions, but as a separate sense. It is in this way we can be sure our judgement is not clouded by personal emotions that can be a stumbling block."

"Huh."

Jhordaan couldn't help the small crinkle of his nose that occurred after even that short explanation. Father was right, wasn't he? Stiff bunch. He wondered absently if they were all like this. What fun was that? Who wanted to be in perfect control all the time? Well, maybe of some things, even Father said that, but emotions! Emotions were his specialty!

Or so Father said. He'd only been doing what came naturally.

"Well that..." He squinted a little in one eye, tilting his head and lifting a hand to scratch at the side of his head lightly. "Um... oh! Well. That makes it a little clearer I guess. Thank you, um.."

The zeltron tilted his head. He knew their names, but what should he call them?

"Sir and Ma'am? Um... Master Langui and Master Sva'La? What should I call you...? And uh. I'm... I still want to join the Sith, but thank you for telling me that, ma'am. I'm much more comfortable with my choice now that I know a little more about the Jedi."

He offered a sheepish sort of grin, at that.

"Master Sva'La and Master Langui will do." The Jedi Master said with a smile. "And may the force be with you."

"Indeed" Char-Langui agreed, quite pleased to have another addition to his student population. "The Sith Temple welcomes you. There are some other rascals running around somewhere who can show you around the rest of the temple. And if you do not have any other questions then farewell and I'll look forward to seeing you at our first training session."

Cariseka took a calming breath and stepped cautiously into the council room. These people, they were her new den members and she needed to show them that she was competent and worthy of being here. She would not be rejected again, she wouldn't allow that to happen.

Nevertheless Cariseka suddenly found herself with no words to express herself with. Her tail tapped against the ground softly as she decided to wait for an acknowledgment of her presence instead.

"Cariseka?" The Jedi Master greeted as she saw the selonian child step cautiously into the room. "Welcome to the Temple. I am Jedi Master Sva'La and this..." The Jedi Master motioned to her human counterpart standing to her right. "This is Char-Langui the Sith Master."

"Welcome." Char-Langui repeated. "On your transcript we understand that you would like to follow the Sith path. Do you have any questions before you make your final decision?"
PostPosted: Fri Sep 14, 2007 8:58 pm

Once spoken to Cariseka stilled her tail and lowered herself in a quick bow to the Masters.

To the question the female Master asked she nodded " Jedi Den is nice people, work for good of whole den by agreeing and talking much, like Selonians. Sith den is strong people who protect den and others with claws and teeth, they let us know they will not be backed down. " Cariseka frowned" But both work together? Is two dens? Or one with two families? Am I only to communicate with fellow path members or can I speak with any?

The answers interested her though she was pretty much certain that she would pick with her chosen path. Only within the Sith den could she redeem herself and bring her power to the fore, only through them could she become strong enough to be good and show the dens that other who might be born like her should be cherished. The Sith path also seemed more appealing. Talk and and more talk and agreement had lead to her exile after all. had those who disgreed been strong, willing to be their own Selonians things might have been different.

"While both "dens" have different roles, they both work together for the common good." The Sith Master explained, while keeping with the analogy most familiar to the selonian child. "And while our journey to and use of the Force differs, we remain a cohesive unit." The small human made a quick gesture from himself to the Jedi Master beside him as if to emphasize this point.

"The followers of each path will be able to mix and mingle through normal social circumstances. The design of the temple, such as a central courtyard, encourages friendly interaction between the two temples." The Togruta female paused for a moment before continuing her explanation. "The only distinction will occur in the nature of individual training sessions. Since each temple has a different role, the training of its students will evolve separately to fulfill each role."

Cariseka listened carefully and nodded when all was said. " Would still like to be part of Sith den." As far as she was concerned the Sith path was still best for her. If she acquired Jedi friends then perhaps she might learn things from them as well. It was good to make choices but once must always have an open mind. there were perhaps things that could be learned from both sides.

"An excellent choice!" The sith master said with a friendly grin. "Welcome to the Sith Temple. There's lots to do, but if you're looking to start introducing yourself to the others, I'd check out the courtyard. Training sessions can begin once you settle in."
