Aphrodite nodded. "Two, then... any more?" she asked, looking around. She felt Evermore's emotions course through her veins. So they were fighting again. Big whoop. Something was different this time, though. She tried to keep her battered hope, (and pride), down. It would only get smashed by Ares again... but she couldn't help but love him. She'd always loved him, since the first time she'd seen him. She probably always would, even if he didn't always love her... and she hated herself for it.

Ever was boiling with rage, with her own rage and her Fury rage. How could Ares be so damn blind?! Did he only care about himself in a way that blocked out any other person's efforts or other point of view?!
Tears were starting to fall down her cheeks again, without her realizing it, but they were tears of anger.
"What about all the times you and I have talked? I opened myself up to you more than I have to anyone else other than Akira. Do you know how hard that is for me to do?! I did that FOR YOU! I..."
Her breath hitched but she forced herself forward. "I decided to join the war FOR YOU on YOUR side! I was going to go to war with you, Ares! To war! I'm 16 years old and I was willing to give my life to you, for you, for this war! Can you PLEASE try to think about that, just for a moment! Put yourself in my shoes!"

Akira was startled by the love Goddess' sudden snapping voice; why was SHE angry??? Honestly, it seemed as if everybody's emotions were out of sync tonight!!
...What the hell had they been drinking or smoking!?
Shaking her head, Akira signed and nodded as Kilala leaped into her arms, the Demonic feline frowning slightly.
"Ya, lets just go back-" she glanced outdoors then, her ears twitching as she picked up familiar, angry, hurt voices...No, those words didn't cut it. Enraged and deeply wounded fit the bill better...As did defeat, which had a strong ring in there too...
Kilala glanced at her master and nodded, understanding. Obviously, Evermore and Ares we're at a turning point; they'd either break up or make up, but if Akira tried to go now, to comfort her best friend, that could ruin everything, so...
"I swear, this should be Raven's job!! Your lucky i care about the confused Fury as well..." the Twin Tailed Demon replied a little bitterly to Akira only, before leaping out of Akira's arms and darting for Evermore.
"Kilala's gonna stay here for now, keep an eye on the people that aren't leaving with us, maybe give them a lift back to the school if they need it." ok, so that wasn't really a lie, Kilala could do that!!!
...She was soooo going to have to reward her familiar later big time!!!
Kilala approached Evermore silently as only a cat could and rubbed her body against the Furry's leg.
"I'm here for you, Evermore. So is Akira, but of course she can't be physically here at the moment because that would be dreadfully awkward...But ya, you get what i mean. Take deeeppp breaths, don't let him get the best of you, think clearly, try to think of his point of view as well." Kilala reassured her mentally. Her voice had a smoothing tone to it, as she smiled softly at the Furry.

Aphrodite heard Ever’s words through their link. The girl really needed to learn to close her mind… it was like a friggin’ book. She couldn’t help but shake her head. Evermore hadn’t given any inclination that she was going to war. She wasn’t acting mature, and she was shirking her duties! She ought to have been exploring that Room rather than partying. Aphrodite understood that people needed breaks, (she needed them now and then!), but still. Many people depended on her, and right now, she was letting them all down. Aphrodite was willing to help her, but Evermore appeared to be too dense to accept help.
Sighing, Aphrodite walled off her mind. She didn’t need to be listening in on that… it was personal. Aph sighed again, and nodded to Akira. "Ok... Everyone else can hitch a lift with her, then..." she smiled in a tired manner, trying to convey an apology for her snappish tone.

Ari looked over the crowd. She was looking for Musica, to say goodbye. It didn't seem polite if she didn't. She felt strange... almost as if seeing that Nikolaus had been still 'alive' and kicking so to speak, unnerved her. It made her feel that something again too, and she shied away from it. To distract herself, she looked for Musica again.

"An eye for an eye." A simple statement. He was tired of Evermore. Tired of her blindness. "You see yourself. Do you see other things as well?" He stared at her, all ice, suddenly. It was eerie--an icy demeanor did not fit Ares. Magma, hot and angry, bubbled below the surface, ready to blow at any moment.
"They say a person sees the worst of themselves in another bearing the same traits." His eyes bore into her, their darkness revealing to be not brown nor black... but grey. Grey and steely, like war-worn metal. "Do you believe this?"
Ares did. He had gone to war so many times. He was the god of war, so of course he had... he'd seen men die for a cause they didn't believe in, he'd seen men die for something they had worked so hard for. He'd seen men die for nothing. Sometimes, he'd caused this. He was desensitized. Young or old, for reason or not, he didn't care. This war was a war for the world as it existed. Didn't she realize that?
This war had already begun. The world was already at stake. And what was he doing? What was she doing? Fighting. Squabbling. He shook his head at her. "The whole damn world is at stake, Evermore." He was changing subjects, and he knew it. "This war isn't just a petty fight. If you want to live, to have a chance at living, you would do the things I have asked of you. I'm sure you've heard of the other schools. There are five who hold the keys to this war. Two have been attacked. Bai Ching is next. Everything rests on the Relics."
His eyes flashed dangerously. "Everything."
He didn't care, anymore, if she wanted to be with him or not. She just needed to know that this war was more than what she took it for. This war was life or death.

Akira smiled softly and nodded, catching the apologetic tone in Aphrodite's voice and accepted it, too wary to even care anymore. She just wanted to go home and figure a tone of s**t out...That, or sleep like crazy...

(Lol! Sorry I took so long to respond. I was playing around in my inventory... Has anyone else noticed that certain items shimmer? ANYWAY, back on track.
Ari's mad at him, or she will be tomorrow, but right now she's more worried about Ness. She's more defeated at the moment, and really does just want to say goodbye to keep from being rude. She's kind of on autopilot for the mo. Does that answer your question, I hope?))

Ever had to smile softly down at Kilala when she came over to her and said what she did. She was comforting.
Ever heard what Ares said. She really heard him. She absorbed it. She was so confused at his current behavior and anger that she couldn't help but listen intently. She wanted to figure out what was going on.
She took a few deep breaths, just like Kilala said she should do, and then looked up at Ares. His gaze was very frightening, but she had to keep going forward. She was no coward. She also couldn't let him bait her anymore.
When she spoke, it was actually with a calm and low voice. Thank God for Kilala and Akira for letting Kilala be with her.
"Ares... I did not know that about the war before. Thank you for telling me about it. It does show, though, that I was still willing to give myself to you for this war before I even knew what was going on. Obviously I will still help now. How could I not, now that I know what is going on?"
She was shaking just slightly, emotions wracking her body. She lifted one of her slightly-shaking hands and grasped one of Ares' with it.
"I guess... You don't have to believe me when I say that I care for you. I wish you did, but I can't force you to believe me. I just know how I feel and I know that I really care for you. The only reason I suggested that we take a break is because I don't know if we're good for each other right now, and I don't know if I'm mature enough for a relationship, yet. You've seen how I've reacted to bad situations. I've reacted terribly and with a very immature attitude. That can't exist in a relationship. I may not know much about them, but I know that much."

{{And after I read that comic earlier this afternoon, I started searching on Gaia to figure out what it was about, and I heard a lot of people talking about their Cash Shop Items glowing. So when I went to my inventory, I was expecting it. But, like Rrine said, *I* wanted to glow, too! lol!! biggrin }}

Ares didn't become suddenly compassionate, and he didn't bring a rebuttal with anger or distaste. "...I agree." It was all he said for a long moment. Then he gently took his hand back, but he laid it on her shoulder. "I must go. Look to the Room and to your friends. Some may know more than they let on. Some may know more than even they are aware of. Find the Relic." His hand was tight for a second, relaying silently to her how important this next task was. "And when you do, summon myself or Aphrodite or even Athena immediately. Do not hesitate."
And then he was gone.
((Just to clear that one statement up about looking to friends: I'm referring specifically to Caroline and Aurora, who both have relatives in other schools. This means that they have the ability to talk to said relatives and get information. But if any others have friends or family in other schools, that works too.))

As Aphrodite was about to ship out, she felt the Ares/Ever argument end. Should she go extend the offer to Evermore as well? Would the girl hate her? It was hard to say, but if one could say anything about Aphrodite, it was that she was stubborn. Even if Evermore threw things at her, she had to offer. It was polite, and she couldn't be damned for trying. Well, maybe she could... but it was better to try than not try at all. "Be right back ladies. Do not move!" she warned.
She snapped her fingers and appeared outside near where Ares had just been standing. Her hands were clasped in front of her. "Ever... sweetie, I'm taking the gals back to Bai Ching. Did you want to come too? I understand if you don't. I can go back to school and make your excuses for you if you'd rather stay."
