I tend to double think your plots.
I'll take the obvious route for option one and then the secondary out of this world route.
Like this surface quest for example. Key can mean two things. A. Obvious actual key. B. Representative items who essence must be gathered and thus transmutated into whatever.

I find myself thinking the opposite of what you are. For example, if the plot is simple and obvious, I overcomplicate it. when I think it's overcomplicated, it's simple and obvious. Just my luck I suppose...
