She smiled......a bit thinking of Shagatsu-san .....then answered......I hope to have a dana very soon.....there is a patron I'm very fond of.....and he of me......Geisha Always dance with fans even after gaining a Dana.

"Oh.I hope you get one soon,also.It seems like you guys would go great together and as for the fans...do you enjoy dancing with them? Isnt it hard to learn the dances?" she smiled. "I would be too nervous to preform in front of a crowd.Especially a crowd of males.I would probably make a fool of myself."

I love dancing with them.....and it's not hard to dance....with all the males in the room.....when the music starts you start to get lost in the dance your perform.....and notice nobody.

Her smile widens. "Thats awesome.What kind of dances do you preform? And where do you learn them at?"
Kyoko always loved to learn.When she was little,she was always told to hush because of how much she asked questions and talked.Allready,she started to lose her place in the okiya.She herself was amazed how much she had opened up allready to her new surroundings.

Hara gave a soft laugh....then said...."There is a school in town.... where when you become a Makio.....you go to learn the many arts of becoming a Geisha......I do and know many dances....my mother was a Geisha and would teach me many things before I came here to this okiya.

She nodded intently. "When do you think i'll become a maiko? What all do I have to do?"
She only knew that she had to obey and fullfill her duties as a maid,which she was neglecting.It finally clicked in the back of her mind and she hoped that the head geisha didnt come and find her.

Hara smiled warmly....and placed her hand on Kyoko knee......you still have a while before that will happen my dear......just keep doing what you have been doing........and be careful....where you look around.....now would you mind helping me with a few things?

"Certainly.What do you need help with?" she stood up eargerly.She was ready to start on the path of becoming a geisha,no matter what that consisted of.Plus,it got her out of what she was suppose to be doing in the first place.She was quite sly for age,anyways.

Hara stood and placed her dancing fans on the bed.....and then went to her closet.....and pulled out a box.....I need you to help me hang a few more things on the walls.....she started to pulled out a few pictures of her family.....and other Japanese art....and handed them to Kyoko.....

"Wow..." she took one of the pictures. "This is beautiful art.And your family..." she ran her fingers across the paper and smiled.She placed one of the pictures up on the wall to see how it looked. "Do you want it about here?" she asked glancing over to Hara.

Hara looked over her sholder at the picture...and said "That looks good...just move it to the left a bit".....she then went back to the box and pulled out a picture of her mother ....the picture was taken when her mother became a Geisha.....she was wearing a midnight black kimono.....with the okiya crest embroidered on it in red.....and her face was painted in the traditional Geisha form......in her hair her mother had a dangling gold leaves ornatment....she hand it to Kyoko and said....could you put this right over there she pointed to her night stand.

As soon as Kyoko fixed up the first picture,she cheerfully took the other picture. "Wow...is this your mother?" she asked placing it where she had been told to. "She's absolutely beautiful." she looked back over at Hara. "How many other pictures of her and your family do you have,Hara?"

Hara smiled.....and said "Only a few more.....she went back to her box and pulled out a picture of her father......he was standing on a bridge....and had his hands behind his back....he was wearing a black bussiness suit...with pin strips.....his hair was combed back nicely....and shoes were nice a shined....the picture had been taken the day after her parents had wed.........as she handed the picture to Kyoko and asked.....where are you from.....what about your family?

She took the picture and shrugged. "My mother died giving birth to me and my father left because he said it was my fault she died." she traced her finger along the picture and did what she was told with it. "I lived with my brother,till I was brought here." she said with a smile.

Hara stopped looking through the box a moment.....and turned to look at Kyoko...I'm sorry to hear that....it's was very kind of your brother to watch over you.....she gave a warm smile....then continued....and now that you are here.....if you ever need anything or just need someone to talk to.....I'm always here.
