Reasons why I am an art student and not an english/history major.
Reason # 1....I just spelled "english" as "elgish". That is reason enough.
EDIT
Animation teachers love Calvin and hobes. The simple animation of those snow men....

Watch out for Snow Goons.
History is much harder than english to major. In both you need excellent grammar and writing skills, but history also requires you to read extensive history books. Which I do not recommend when you have minimal interest in the subject...
Damn them... Damn them to hell.

KNowledge again proves it corrupts.
I can support that. *takes breath*
If knowledge is power, and power corrupts, then school/education is evil. See?

Hey now, to defend my major English requires you to use history in analyzing the different works judged classical by the critics of the times and also requires an extensive reading of plays, novellas, short compositions, essays, and novels. Memorization is key as well as understanding key events, ideas, plots, and characters. Inferring is a major skill as well. History is pretty much black and white. This guy went here and did this on this date. English opens a whole new world of possibilities because of it's ambiguity.

I wish... no, 2000 word paper.
Can't multitask because I am using the other computer. I don't imagine I could write a serious paper using this machine.
It doesnt like me.
And the keyboard is evil.
Not that it really matters.
Right, you keep thinking that, Stars...

Starry, I have nothing against English majors. But history IS NOT black and white, otherwise you wouldn't have to write papers about it. It no longer becomes a matter fo fact but a matter of why.
I have to defend my BF on that point. I think he'd hate me if i didn.t
And I know what you mean, Starry. David is an English/history major. We actually argue about history.

But I'm not goddess of the RP, I can't change time as I choose, that's Holly's call to let me do that.

We want Sev! Counter-rant. History is not simply the regurgitation of simple facts and concepts gathered from a historical context, it is the 'deduction' and 'induction' of historical trends, theories, theology and multitudes of empirical data. Knowing who did what where, when and how means very little in a history paper. The actual question addressed is 'why'. Thus, we read novels, letters, plays, short stories, poetry and other sources of primary documents to determine the motives and personalities behind the actors in history. ^^ Black and white indeed, because their is only fact and fiction. Take the black and white and try to decearn why its black or white or both. There is no grey area, pick a side and debate it fully.
