Sorry sweatdrop got all excited about pirates for some reason and ran with it.
Still think the ship sounds cool though.
*shakes head about fish thing* sometimes people on here can be strange and I don't mean in a good way, cause I do like strange!

Probably because pirates, like many other achtypes, who usually are shown going against the law have been lifted up to pedistels of glory and honor. The movies don't help either, with the whole "good pirate, bad pirate" dynamic in the first and third movie. Bit of a reason why I like James Norrinton's character. Yeah he's not with the desinated heros of the story most of the time, but did what he thought and knew was right at the time based on his upbringing as a servent of the Royal Navy and what he felt.
But yeah.. kinda went on a rant there haha. And I know what you mean about the good and bad strange. I think everybody here does.

It is actually amazing how far back that archtype goes....Robin Hood to name one example.
I do tend to like characters who stick to what they know is right, no matter what others think. I guess that is because I see to much of people willing to change themselves to be welcomed into the homogenized masses.

Yeah. Which is probably why characters like Rorschach are so popular.
Problem is that they're popular for the wrong reasons, atleast in the way of crazies and the like. Yes I said Rorschach is crazy, because he is! And because characters like him are overglorified for their actions, people miss the reason WHY. And to miss that is to miss everything.

Very true.... Most people are like, "He's such a bad a**! He does what he wants and messes people up when they mess with him!"
*sigh* Sometimes I wonder about where the human race is going...random note, ever seen "Idiocracy"?
I really enjoyed the look into a character who is so willing to be true to themselves and to seek out the truth no matter what the costs.
The end really makes you think too...man the whole movie makes you look at yourself and think about what you would do in that situation.

No never seen that one.
But yeah, I always find myself asking what would I do in movies. Could I have uncovered the truth or not? Would I have the ability to take a life to save others or not? How would I turn a situation to my favor with the least amount of casuaties.
But as for being true to who you are and yourself... it's lonely being different, but as soon as people notice you, they try to be you, recreate you, and in the end, everybody IS you, but just in twisted forms that are more a mockery then a compliment. And thus you find yourself surrounded by people like you, yet still alone because they just don't get it.
A good example of this would have to be in The Dark Knight. The people saw Batman and wanted to be like him, thus the copy cats.

I like how nobody has made a comment about my statment. I do feel the need to rant about stuff like this at times when it's on my mind, so yeah.

Pish. I'm simply not brainful enough to comment on that and actually make any sort of point. =D The rants are interesting, however.

It's a mixture of what I've seen, heard, and read blended together with my own personal thoughts and feelings into a fine smoothy of ranty goodness.
If it wasn't for the fact I need to be in a certain state of mind and body with triggers to have one I could probably write books.
