╔══════════════╗ Another day of downpour that was heavier than yesterday meaning there were less customers coming into the shop. Patrick decided to close shop not long after the lunch rush ended in the afternoon. Returned home to his cats, left them behind because of the weather so they can avoid getting wet. Well, Hiro doesn’t mind getting wet, but he can’t say the same about Emerald.The black kitten keeps away from the windows where it normally naps near since this day had started and that includes the doors leading outside to keep distance from the rain. Patrick brought back what sketches he needed to revise for some recent clients that visited the shop over the past couple rainy days. Gave some attention to Aki with a five minute long belly rub before going to the dining room and going over the drafts. He was quite pleased with them and just needed to do some alterations to a couple of details. Stashed them away into the work folder in his studio so the paper ripper, Emerald, doesn't get a hold of them. Played hide and seek with the felines and Aki, himself being the seeker, as an indoor activity to do with them 'til late into the afternoon. This was their third time playing this game and they have gotten better at it, especially Hiro.

╔══════════════╗ The game of hide and seek ended with Hiro winning most of the rounds and Emerald being found first for most of them also. Afterwards Patrick locked himself inside his studio to resume his painting of his muse, Saeki and Aki. This was to be a gift to his future in-laws who live on the other side of the world on the pretense of painting being for therapy activity. Yesterday he had completed the rough drafts referenced from a few photos of the two together. He could have included himself in there, but didn’t think he should do that for the first painting. In a bit of trance as he began the next stage of painting. Any music that could be playing in the background would have been tuned out while painting with heightened focus yet camouflage any door knocking sounds. Realism for large, expressionism for medium and fauvism for small, those were the art movements and sizes of canvases he used. They were all halfway finished with them only being one layer deep. Couldn't decide which would be the better one to send to the in-laws upon completion. Let Saeki decide which ones to send off and which to keep is what he concluded after some thinking then interrupted by his rumbling stomach reminding him that it's time for supper.

╔══════════════╗ The harassing phone calls halted for a while now after actively blocking every suspicious number that came up. He found out that he wasn't the only one getting them and the culprits were eventually tracked down by the authorities. Which was someone known for trolling the victims/survivors of violent crimes. As to how the man found out that Patrick was one of such victims when it wasn’t disclosed to the public could be from a leak. Doubtful that the police would have mobilized so soon if it was just him being the only target.
Two weeks has passed since Patrick sent out the painting that Saeki picked out of the three, he painted to Saeki’s parents. No matter the size of the framed painting, it would have arrived a little over a week ago. Tracker indicated that the painting arrived in Japan and he spared no expense in ensuring its safety. Shouldn't have any problems with custom with how detailed the invoice was. Filling out the value was the hard part of it. He was feeling guilty about using Saeki to communicate with Mr. and Mrs. Konosawa. This whole ordeal was undoing his progress in therapy and defeats the purpose of why he was painting in the first place which was pointed out by his therapist recently. So he went out to clear mind alone to find something to distract himself. Brought a big watermelon home from a food stall downtown, ate a small one with Hiro last year, with this size they can all have some albeit the removal of the seeds before feeding any to the pets. Add watermelon rinds to the compost box that was placed out in a corner of the courtyard.

╔══════════════╗ Patrick watched the morning local news channel while proofreading his ongoing love poem on the living room couch. Meteor shower was mentioned which caught his attention because it has the potential romantic date for just the two of them. Not like the pets couldn’t tag along since they tend to stay out of trouble during outings, but he was certain neither of them are interested with what is going on with the sky. If Saeki wants them to be there then he won’t disagree with that decision. Had a spot in mind of where they could wait and watch the meteor shower that he came across yesterday. Although he couldn’t be sure no one else coveted the spot yet so he planned on stopping by there within a little while. Put away the love poem by tucking it in his pocket journal that was getting so full now. “Need to purchase a new one and archive this one” he reminded himself. He has every intention to keep writing in a journal, some of the pages got covered in his blood and he was fortunate to have it returned to him when it was deemed not to be evidence.
Went to the shop an hour early and opened it to the public fifteen minutes later than usual. Left it up to Saeki in deciding to help out at the front counter. From customers he did hear them mention about the meteor and they were asked if they were going to watch them. The answer wasn’t a ‘no’. Closed the shop by evening and went on his own to the spot he was thinking of then covered the path to it with foliage. After returning to their home he asked with a bashful smile and blushing cheeks, “Saeki, darling, there is something I want to ask you. Would you go out on a special date with me?”

  It was a calm day altogether. Saeki had been practicing as usual, if only because his father reprimanded him for neglecting his training after they had a sparring match that unmistakably showed that the young man had been slacking on the practice. It wasn’t that Saeki no longer enjoyed the sessions, on the contrary, but spending time with Patrick was just a bit more tempting than his practices were. After some hours he would make a long walk with Aki to the park, through it and back. He left it up to his beloved if they wanted to join or not. As it were, Patrick had to get to his shop so for the moment they had split up. It wasn’t too long after Patrick left that Saeki had brought Aki home from the walk, double checked all three the pets’ needs before he was satisfied and left to join Patrick at the shop. Once he arrived he had happily joined in on the shop keeping of course. After all, he had nothing else to do as he didn’t have, or need, to get a job with his family backing him. As such, he had plenty of time to spend at his beloved’s store and help out there as a volunteer employee. When the store was closed again and they made their way home, Saeki looked around some as he checked their surroundings and enjoyed the quiet and calm atmosphere. Once there, Patrick had left for a moment and Saeki had set about the householding that needed to be done. It didn’t take the other man too long to come back and Saeki smiled at them. A look of surprise hinted on his features when he noticed Patrick’s bashful state and he chuckled softly. Nonetheless he didn’t interrupt them as he listened to their question and then smiled happily once more. "Of course I would love. Did you have something in mind?" he asked with a gentle smile. He had heard the talk of meteor showers of course, so he had an inkling of what the plan was to some extent. ╔══════════════╗ Patrick smiled brightly at Saeki’s response and was relieved by it even though it was unlikely the other would have declined. Before he answered he realized how shy he was acting in darling’s presence which led to him blushing some more. “A midnight picnic under the stars. Since there was supposed to be a meteor shower taking place during the night, we could partake in that too” he answered. There was no hurry since they had plenty of time before the shooting stars appeared in the sky view. For a brief moment he wondered if Saeki knew or believed in wishing on a shooting star. As for himself “I’ve found and secured a good viewing spot to lay out our picnic blanket at” he informed him about the date. Had no doubt his fiance would go on this kind of date considering this wouldn’t be the first outdoor date, but it has been quite awhile since the last one. He has every intention of helping out in prepping for the picnic. “Doesn’t have to be just the two of us. Aki, Hiro, and Emerald could come too if you want to” he offered in case Saeki would like to bring them along. Not that they needed to be there or be worried if they weren’t.

Saeki smiled wide when he heard the idea and nodded. "That is a great idea! I love watching meteor showers. It will be all the more special to watch them with my beloved." he replied joyfully, already looking forward to the date. "It sounds like you have everything settled. Anything I can still help out with?" he asked, smiling gently at Patrick. He wouldn’t let them do all the work. When Patrick spoke of the pets, Saeki hummed and tapped his cheek as he thought about it but then he smiled cheekily and shook his head. "How about making this a picnic with just us two? Our furry babies can handle a few hours without us." he replied with a chuckle. It had been a while since it was just them together. ╔══════════════╗ Patrick continued on smiling whilst taking in the happy mood in this room. Blanket check, picnic basket check, moist napkins check, cutlery, cups and plates check. “For the most part I have. Wanted to run the menu for the picnic by you” he replied. Instead of having the menu as a surprise he thought it would be good to include Saeki’s input and prep the food together. Chuckled mentally at his partner’s amusing gestures and a little of it did leak out. He nodded in agreement, “Yes, they have proven they can house sit for that amount of time” he responded. “A thought came to mind. Background music, perhaps something instrumental or what genre of music you’re into” he suggested. Music could help and maintain the mood tangent to nocturnal insects. Thinking of insects, they should put some pleasant smelling insect repellent. “Oh, do we have a battery-power radio?…or maybe we can use a phone” he asked Saeki. He recalled people can listen to music on their phone whether it’s through wired/wireless headphones or phone speaker. The radio is what he uses in his studio to help him focus while sculpting so no distracting thoughts get in the way. His attacker humming children’s nursery rhymes whilst slicing him almost traumatizes him to that genre of music.
“As for the menu. I was thinking of rice balls. Could they be star shaped? And have finger sandwiches the same shape” he said to Saeki. He was going for a star themed meal for the picnic because he likes to plan each date to be different to be the last.
