❄ Winter Festival...Starting NOW! ❄ The Yule Role Play Introduction ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃ ▃
Newly cut flakes of crystalline white peacefully descended from the darkened azure sky overhead and bit by bit, piece by piece the delicately crafted snow dusted the ground adding height to the already accumulated banks that spread out as far as the eye could see. Regardless of the weather the looming stone structure of The Alchemist’s Tower remained steadfast and illuminated the way for the mass of visitors that would soon be gathered within the halls celebrating with family, friends, and strangers alike. Only mere moments were left before the first rays of sun spilt over the horizontal crest ushering with it the brink of day and the start of Yule yet busily toiling within the confines of her home the master alchemist was already elbow deep in preparations for the festivities that were to be had. Tables littered with ribbons and holly were expertly place and the finishing touches of garland along the banister of the staircase added a certain warmth to the interior of the otherwise dreary living space, even with the amount of time Tiri-Ithil put into the place it still possessed a rustic charm that some would see as undesirable.
This time last year the halls had been prepared, trees were decorated, and special party guests were entertained however the invitation list had been exclusive and much more manageable, Tiri had been surprised when an official request had been sent to her beseeching the mare to host the Yule event for the entire town; truly it was both an honor and a sizeable task one that the master alchemist responded to with complete dedication and precision. Making the last few adjustments Tiri-Ithil stepped back and allowed herself a much needed breath. Decadent chocolate truffles and mints where placed upon the tables just far enough out of reach of greedy little hands that would soon be fumbling around with anything at eye-level. Sprigs of evergreen and bay laurel made up the contents of the wreath-making section, out of consideration the mare had already assembled a few of the ornaments but left them undecorated so that others could get straight to the fun or on the off chance that someone didn’t know how to assemble a wreath. Everything was almost perfect, yet something still felt lacking. Brushing her fingertips through her long grey bangs Tiri took a moment to pause and go over her mental checklist.
Sheet music was at the ready for those that wished to carol, a handful of sleds where outside leaning against the side of the tower for those that wanted to go racing down the massive snowcapped hills. Refreshments were all in order including coffee, tea, and other beverages that could sate even the most varied of palates, yet something still felt lacking. Shaking her head of the thought the blue-coated laegil made her way from the tables that were strewn with jovial party-favors and knickknacks towards the large wooden doors that served as the only entrance and exit to her home. Brightened skies and virgin powder greeted the mare, the chill that hung in the air breezed over the threshold and carried with it flurries of snow that quickly melted. Smiling softly the master alchemist gazed out towards the massive evergreen that had been transplanted just outside of the aging tower. Ribbons, bows, little blown glass workings that glittered ever-so-slightly in the morning sun greeted the mare with an almost magical twinkle from their resting place on the strong branches, the previous year the tree had been a center piece within her home however this year with so many mearas attending and bringing gifts she had decided to keep the conifer alive and decorate the living tree outside so that everyone could enjoy it fully. The sensation that something had been lacking from the celebration dissipated completely, the only thing that was needed now were the guests and their merriment.

b. Once you’ve gotten a partner or have picked out your cool ride; you can then begin sledding. Roll a Random Number using the RNG (if playing solo roll once per post, if two players both people get to roll). Generate between Numbers 1- 100 Even = you made it! Odd = you fall off of the sleigh and need to go back to the top of the hill. Anything less than 20 = You crash horribly (and take your partner with you regardless of their roll), maybe sledding isn’t your thing after all?
c. Make sure you post in complete sentences and you can roll as many times as you like!Where: Anywhere outside of the Tower. When: the Entire Month of December Why: Because it is winter time fun!
Wreath Decorating 101

(Rolling is optional)
20= Holly Berries 18-19= Ribbons 14-17= Candy Canes 10-13= Flowers 7-10= Bells 3-6= Pinecones 1-2= Feathers
b. Begin Crafting and Garnishing: Generate a random number between 1 and 100 Above 50 = you complete the attachment of the decoration (or the wreath if you are crafting one from scratch) Below= For some reason the ornaments (or the trigs) just aren’t staying in place, try again!
c. Make sure you post in complete sentences, you must have a minimum of three ornaments on your wreath in order to finish it. Where: Inside of the tower on the first floor, tables are setup with all of your crafting needs. When: Anytime Why: Wreaths are usually made from evergreens and symbolize Strength however some wreaths are made from Bay Laurel, these symbolize victory. Traditionally weaving the twigs together during Yule represents the triumphant overcoming of the approaching winter.

c. When you all are ready players will roll a d-20. An even number indicates a success, an odd number specifies failure. For the song to be successful over half of the participants need to pass their roll. If the group fails it is up to the Wait to choose whether to try again or move on to a new song. (each song can be attempted twice)Where: Outside of the Tower’s doors, inside on the Tower’s stairs or around the massive Christmas tree When: Anytime if singing within the Tower or outside by the doors, at sunset if singing around the tree Why: Some forget when the tradition came to be but overtime the act of caroling during the season has become a popular way to share warmth during the cold winter nights and to bring neighbors closer together with brotherly-love.

b. There are two styles of ‘fighting’, a leisurely version where points are not kept and one that is more competitive and organized like a game. If playing the ‘relaxed’ version simply roll a d-4: 1 = a miss, 2-3 = a body hit, and 4 = A hard hit to the face, owch! If you are in it to win it roll two d-4, the first die represents the same scale as previously listed, the second die keeps track of points (if you miss the second roll is not counted) Example: Mearth A rolls a 2 and a 4, he hits his opponent and gains four points to his total score. Mearth B lobs a snowball and rolls a 4 and a 3! If you make a ‘hard hit’ the points are double, Mearth B would earn six points for his efforts. The first one to twenty points wins!
c. Please keep a tally of your points at the bottom of your post and make sure to edit your post to reflect the outcome of the dice. Where: Anywhere Outside When: Anytime Why: Some see the game as a chilly albeit harmless folly where others make a near sport out of hurling crushed powder at each other. Small bags of raw chestnuts are available from the concession stand within the tower as well as hanging outside on the Evergreen, being the amazing hostess that she is Tiri-Ithil made sure all of the nuts have been properly cleaned and scored so no explosions occur (well mostly made sure). Head over to one of the several firepits outside or to the fireplace inside to get started.
b. Roll a d-6, things are about to get toasty. 1-2 = slightly undercooked chestnuts, they are hard to peel and have a slightly astringent taste. 3-4 = perfectly roasted nuts, you are pretty good at this! 5 = overcooked and not all that appealing, what a waste. 6 = KAPOW! Looks like you just busted a nut Looks like one of the nuts in the batch wasn’t scored correctly, the fur on your hands are slightly singed, jeez.
c. Make sure to use complete sentences and to role play your wound if you end up hurting yourself.Where: Outside of the Tower by the firepits and inside by the fireplace When: Anytime Why: Hardy nuts that are both delicious and useful, a small bag can be shared with others or greedily hoarded during this time of year. Fun fact: Chestnut husk and pellicles can be used as shampoo, isn’t that just interesting.

It felt like it had been far too long since Amadi had been among the general public. She had found shelter within the confides of her mistress's manor. But now adorn in a new cloak and new boots and dressed in a rather festive shirt she had made her way to the tower at her mistress' side. She had never been to a Yule festival and she was looking forward to it even if it meant a crowd.
Levant had told her that she should head on inside because she had to go and do something so the tan mare made her way into the tower. Her duel colored eyes were wide in awe at all the decorations and a smile crossed her sad face as she saw the tables with wreath just waiting to be decorated. Thinking how great it would be to make one wail she waited she made her way to a table and sat herself down with hopes to make one from scratch. She loved to be creative almost more than she loved reading. So as she wound the pine trimmings into a wreath shape she looked at the decorations to decide which she should start with first.

Amadi had just finished wrapping the wreath shape and the candy canes had cause her eyes. She liked the odd shape of them and thought that they could be the prefect first decoration for the wreath. She loved the different colors of the candy canes. There were the traditional red and white ones as well as a rainbow of other colored ones. She laughed softly to herself as she grabbed the peppermint candy canes. "Best to get ones I wont eat right off the wreath." she said softly and placed the candy canes along the wreath to see what would look best before she tried to figure out how to hang them.

Thankfully as the tan Mearh moved the candy canes around the wreath the tree trimmings held tightly and did not fall or slip in the slightest. So she had successfully made a strong enough wreath. As she looked over the candy canes she wanted something that would not distract from the canes or the wreath itself. She brought a hand up and bit her thumb in thought. Silver hooks might stand out...and rope would be too childish she would use that as a last resort. She saw some green colored ties and thought that maybe that would work. She took a few of them and tried to tie up a could of the candy canes. Once she was satisfied with how it looked she lifted the wreath to stand up to see if the ties would hold with the ties alone.

The brisk morning air brought a faint shiver to run up and down Levant's short plush coat making fine cream colored fur prickled upward in a vain attempt to capture the escaping warmth that the wintery breeze siphoned from her lean muscular frame. The night before the stallion-like mare could barely manage a wink of sleep, ever since she was a filly she had found it difficult to muster the ability to lay in bed and actually rest on the day of Yule. Lifting a large hand the chiseled laegil brushed her shortly cropped mane out of her dull yellow hues with a faint sigh, she had sent Amadi into the alchemist's tower to keep her from spoiling one of the several surprises that she had planned for the younger female; padding over to the large evergreen Levant took a moment to place a small parcel into the living branches before turning and heading towards the entrance of the Tower.
Pert ears twitched back and forth upon passing underneath the archway of the round door, gazing above most of the heads in the crowd Levant searched for her violet haired pet; smirking wildly pointed fangs glistened brightly with the happy expression as she moved across the room. Leaning down the pepper-tailed mare wrapped strong, powerful arms around Amadi's waist and tugged the tan mare against her body while nuzzling the crook of her neck affectionately.
"That wreath looks charming, you're doing a wonderful job my pet." Tenderly purred the towering figure in a soften, velvet tenor that barely was above that of a whisper. A faint nicker chased after her words as she spoke almost as if she were suppressing a giggle of amusement, nudging Amadi with her snout Levant stood to her full height and grinned broadly at the tan equine in her arms. She would mingle but first she wanted everyone in the tower to know exactly whom Amadi belonged to.

As the wreath was lifted up the candy canes shifted only slightly but they held on good and strong. It was all Amadi could do not to give a bit of a shout in triumph. She covered her mouth and laid the wreath down before laughing at herself. Man could she really be getting so very worked up over such a simple thing. She didn't want to bother anyone else so she tried to calm herself as she looked over the decoration items again to see what next she should try to put on. There were so many good things that one could use. Maybe she would have to make two. Surly Levant would be busy for awhile so there was no reason to rush. This way she also would not cause trouble for her mistress.
Just as the thought of her mistress crossed her mind she felt strong solid arms snake around her waist and pull her back again the powerful body she was growing more familiar with. As the taller mare nuzzle her neck Amadi could not hold back a yelp of surprise. She always had a hard time keeping quiet when anything touch her neck let alone nuzzled it.
Blushing brightly the tan female covered her tan muzzle and looked down embarrassed both at her own yelp and the compliments from her mistress. "Do you really like it Levant? It still has a way to go but I am looking forward to seeing the finished product." She turned to smile up at the older female. She liked this soft almost relaxed tone that Levant was speaking in. And though she was flushed she enjoyed the fact, emencly, that Levant was showing her some affection in public. This day was going to be an amazing day. She could just feel it. Even if the wreath did not turn out well she was at a Yule festival with snow all around and bound to fall again. And she was on what could be like a date with her mistress.

Shy, always so painfully shy no matter the situation they found themselves in, really it was almost tiring how the tan female acted but Levant had far more perseverance than what most mearas gave her credit for. Snorting and rolling her eyes the masculine mare made a show of her exaggerated actions before casually draping her arms behind her back and stretching, silver and red metallic beads swayed along her lower abdomen just below her navel as she moved to stand beside the short-haired laegil. The tower was decorated to perfection and the contagious mirth that was in the air infected her to the very core, reaching towards the pile of ornaments littering the table Levant poked at the various bowls that contained ribbons, bows, and other assortments of festive tidbits until the pads of her fingertips met with a set golden colored bells.
A frog croaked in the back of her throat as she lifted the chime and gave it a small test, the tiny rapid noise that sounded out brought a guffaw to explode from deep inside of the tall mare. “Can we put these on the wreath too? I think it would finish it up nicely, don’t you?” Scooting closer to Amadi the countess pushed the bell out towards the indigo haired beauty questioningly, peering deeply into the mismatched pair of spring green and cool blue Levant again smiled towards the tan mare beside her with a demeanor of sensitivity and admiration dominating all of her actions.

Amadi enjoyed the subtle sounds of the beads at Levant's waist the way they clinked together as she moved. Flicking her brilliant tail she felt a bit of a an emptiness as the larger mare moved away. She sighed softly knowing that again she must have done something to cause the withdrawl but she would not let thoughts like that dim the day. After all if she lost confidence in herself she would only annoy the countess more.
She watched as a graceful pale arm moved to pick out and lift a pair of golden bells. She turned to watched the tall mare test them and was more than a bit shocked to hear the guffaw and hear Levant's suggestion. She could not stop the bright smile from spreading over her tan muzzle. The tensed pudgy form relaxed greatly and all shyness for the moment seemed to fade. "I think they would be prefect for the wreath! I even like the gold color It will work beautifully with the red, white and green." she leaned forward of the the table looking at the other bells, "Maybe we can find a silver pair too. You can be the gold and I could be the silver pair. I think it would be just what our wreath needs." The duel colored eyes of the shorter heavier mare looked up into the sickly yellow of the other, meeting them fully and with a great fondness and trust in them. Who would have thought that such a simple craft could relax them both enough to enjoy each other's company without the tension and worry of upsetting the other.
Amadi stretched up to kiss Levant's cheek before she turned back to the table to try and find the perfect little silver bells to represent herself. She of course would try and find a pair that had one broken or the chime was a bit flat. She always loved the broken things. "Now we will need to find something to hang them with. Maybe there is some silver and gold colored thread on the table somewhere." she said as she rooted threw the bells with ever intention of looking for the thread next.

Tiri-Ithil Speaks... ..................................... ......................... ............ The tower was already bustling with mearh as Tiri sipped her morning tea. She sat in her room by the single window and looked out on those entering. Octultus, a knight of the Dispassionate Watchers, and a few of his friends were keeping the peace and guarding the innocents below. This made her sleep easier as she mentally prepared for the day ahead Rubbing the last bits of sleep from her eyes, the icy hued mare struggled against a stretch and she finally rose form her chair to go be hostess to the party.... It was sure to be a good one.
Her arms wrapped a scarf about her neck in preparation for the instance of going outside and her head was silvery and shining like the stars with the hair upon it styled in her usual up-do. The door opened to the staircase below and lead to the main part of the tower, the party just getting under way. She gracefully descended the stairs, letting the light of the fire flare as she did so, it crackled happily as if t greet her.
"Welcome everyone---please partake in refreshments and games and enjoy your stay!" she announced once she was at the bottom of the stairs, happily smiling and continuing to the fire to await further guest arrival.

Making his way up the snow covered hill toward the tower, Dasher Lossen gazed at everyone he passed. He considered it almost an honor for him, one of the eight reindeer that help the Son of Yule, to pass by them. He had wanted to see what this party was actually like. He had missed previous years, but since they had finished their training early today, he knew he had to check it out. Walking up to the tree outside, covered in different ornaments and ribbons, Dasher got a sense of joy. He enjoyed all of the decorations of Yule, even decoration his own home rather extravagantly. Lightly touching a beautiful glistening red ornament, he smiled. Dasher glanced at the door to the inside of the tower. The decorated tree simply peeked him curiosity all the more. He knew for sure now that he had to go inside and look around. As he entered through the doors, he spied the wreath making materials. He always loved to make his own decorations and simply couldn't resist heading over to them. He noticed the two others sitting at the table and wanted to give them a bit of room, not getting too close, but not letting it stop him from making a wreath either. Taking up some of the evergreen branches, he twisted them, starting to form his wreath.

Dasher was very happy with himself as he expertly twisted and held the boughs together. He admired his handy work, turning the wreath around in his hands to view all angles, his sky blue eyes scanning for any imperfections in the shape of the branches. After he was satisfied with his handiwork completely, he scanned the beautiful ornaments that were laying about the table. He enjoyed all the colors of them. Taking in the site, his eyes landed on the holly berries, deciding they were the best thing to start with. Also figuring that a nice natural looking wreath would be a good way to go. As he picked up the berries, he looked around for a nice twine to help them stay on the wreath better. Spotting some nice brown colored twine, he smiled, liking the way it matched. Dasher started to place them on his wreath, tying the best knots he could.

Dasher smiled at his accomplishment. He loved how the berries looked against the green. They stood out very nicely. Looking around the table again, hoping he would find something else that would look decent on his more natural designed wreath. His eyes caught some pinecones laying near the center of the table. He nearly jumped for joy when he saw all the different sizes and shapes they came in. Swishing his tail and causing the bells on his harness to jingle, he reached forward, grabbing a couple different ones that he liked. Satisfied with the ones he had grabbed, he now looked around for some thinner thread, knowing already that the same twine he had used for the holly berries would be noticed too well on the pinecones. As he scanned the table for it, he saw the perfect thread. He was very pleased with how quickly he was finding the things he needed for his project. Settling back in, he moved his beige scruff out if the way a little. He didn't want to get any of his fur stuck on something. As he started to tie the pinecones on, he hoped the thread would be strong enough to tie the right knots.
