Rped out post: First, more students had sprung out of nowhere seemingly only to dash across the field in a fury. The next thing Shun knew was that the area had visibly shimmered. It seemed they were able to go through now.. granted that they could get off this blasted field.
And then one of the robed figures brought out their weapon.
By Jacking s**t that was a huge blade. That was not something to be hit with if possible. But they were going to have to get past this one first.
Narrowing his eyes, he glanced from the tent to the one with the large blade.
"Come on, we need to get past them," he urged Mitsu as he began to rush along. Many of the others had left, it was just a handful of them on the field now.

Rped out post: The battle field was soon filled with more students, students who seemed to have an easier time making it through the chaos to the area up ahead. Thankfully it seemed the students were able to move on but hopefully they would be safe.
As Mitsu continued to maneuver about there was a sudden lurch in her step. Her form began to shrink and soon she had shifted back to her previous state. A little disoriented about what had happened Mitsu looked down at her pin. It must have been working again.
Standing now on two legs she looked at Shun, her large red eyes clearly filled with fear about the situation. She could only hope her smaller form went unnoticed by the masses. HP: 27/30 Battle Status: Defending

The doctor's smile was a small, toothy snarl. "Like I said...experimental technology. Clarice? My dear, no do not turn around watch where you are swinging that thing! Clarice! Our captive refuses to choose. If you fight any rescuers? Go for the legs and arms, rather than kill. Then we can let him choose again, hm?"
He paused a moment, and smiled in a much more genuine fashion, "It also may be good for Mr. Brant's self image to have some quadriplegics about."

Rped out post: The boo was beginning to grow in confidence. Twice he had landed solid blows, once helping to knock a guy out, and once causing another to flee into the tent he had been released from. His floating almost seemed to have a swagger to it as he swung around, looking for the next person for his eyes to land on. The next one he saw was apparently a shapeshifter. She was a smaller target, but a target nonetheless. Besides, his aim had been good so far, and he was ready to risk it in order to "help" her. "Let me end your pain!" he shrieked in somewhat bizarre gleefulness. Yes, all of his headbutts had certainly knocked a screw or two lose. Charging at her he managed to hit her square on, the glowing blue boo was a dangerous missile indeed. HP: 10/10 Attack Damage: 13 - 6 = 7

Of all the things to attack her, Mitsu had been expecting a false reaper which was why she was painstakingly avoiding them on the battlefield. If it hadn't been for her careful trekking she probably would have made it to the trap zone by now. So it came to a great surprise when out of no where one of those blob boo creatures showed up again only to ram into Mitsu with its head. Well, it was mostly just a head with a little wiggly tail and arms but that was beside the point.
Letting out a yelp Mitsu fell from the blow her eyes suddenly larger than saucers as she scrambled back to her feet and grabbed for Shun's sleeve. "Run!" She didn't want to be hit again so the only way to prevent that was to keep going.

Yuki had crossed the threshold into the back yard in an attempt to find Astra, Tess and Legs... None of whom he could see in the chaos that he had just rushed into. With the dilemma of not knowing many on either side of this fray, he was all the more alarmed by what he saw. Who were they being attacked by, and why?
Ah, the joys of not being present on the island were only going to make things worse now.
It only took a moment to realize that everyone seemed to be heading for the same point, so he decided that he'd do his best to run across toward the tent as well.
Hopefully, his team mates weren't destined to fare badly... Let alone him.

Ferros shrieked in frustrated bloodlust, a high, piercing steamwhistle sound that cut painfully through Jordan's mind. He staggered, went to one knee, barely noticed when the floor went out from under them.
The Soul Harvester's scream joined and twined with the dragon's. It hurt. Jordan was out before he hit the ground, sprawling loose and uncoordinated a short distance away from his teammates.

Moure felt something pass to the side of him, an attack that must've been aimed at him. Moure felt himself grinning slightly, a rush coming to him as he realized that he could in fact dodge a moving bullet. So far, he was in good condition, and since he was intact still, he could do all that he could to protect and rescue his feelow students and the Soul Harvester.
It seemed they didn't need Moure's help busting the traps though.Moure watched in joy as the chains binding the Soul Harvester were destroyed, holding in a breath he didn't need as he waited for something to happen. However, Her attack seemed to have taken a lot out of her, for their savior seemed weaker than before. Moure felt the need to stay behind, to watch over Her and protect her, but then came her Order.
Moure gave a slight flinch, knowing that his instincts to help would kick in and upon hearing such a direct Command from someone that he cared about that he would be powerless to keep himself from doing as she bid. Moure gave a strong nod, eyeing the false-reapers. The Runner spotted a break in between a few of them, and he bolted toward them. Somehow, he managed to run through, his long strides bringing him to the false-reapers and then past fast enough that someone yawning could've missed seeing him pass through. Moure risked a look back to the Soul Harvester, murmuring as he ran, "I'll come back for you, after I carry out your will. Be safe until then..."
And with that, Moure was sprinting toward the tent.

THE GAUNTLET: FINAL ROUND The first thing students would notice, as they slowly blinked back into awareness, was that everything was pure white. In fact, they were floating in a pure white void, unable to see or feel. It felt right. It felt peaceful, as if all thoughts had been drawn into a net far, far away.
"They are not my responsibility, I will have nothing do to with any of this." Though this voice was quite young, it carried itself with contempt. "You already set in motion your own fate... and theirs."
"You owe me." This voice, the chime that rang in their minds, was unmistakeably the Soul Harvester's. "Just this once, and never again. I promise."
"So you are aware that you cannot avoid the result." A flicker of something, the one replying, and then an image - was it a ghost? - of a cloaked figure in purple.
"Yes, I am prepared."
A pause. And then the strangest sound, the like the ticking of thousands of clocks at once. "All right, just this once. Mind you, they did all the work."
Before anyone could digest the strange conversation, everything lurched forward, the fear, the fighting, hiding, running all suddenly crystal clear. It was painful, it was agonizing, and, as the students literally slammed into reality once again, the familiar soggy wet grass of the backyard encompassing them, they also saw Her.
The Soul Harvester. Glowing brighter by the second like a miniature sun, until she encompassed everything in a brilliant blue-
- 'Now go.'
- And then the students, all of them disappeared.
As Hunters paused to consider what could have happened, they could see Caelius, visibly quivering with anger, circling the spot - a large ten foot gaping black hole - where the Soul Harvester should have been. If the Death Hunter had done any accidental damage during the entire battle, it was nothing compared to what the Soul Harvester managed.
Wires and equipment lay strewn left and right, some broken beyond repair, some barely working, fizzing and humming erratically. Several of the conscious Hunters were busy pulling unconscious trainees and veteran Hunters alike into the makeshift recovery zone. They had lost this fight. GAUNTLET CONCLUSION RULES:HALLOWEEN STUDENTS IN THE BATTLEFIELD:- YOU ARE NOW HERE. RP ACCORDINGLY. Please go back to your rooms/continue your rooms once you have reached the cooldown time!. HUNTERS STUDENTS IN THE BATTLEFIELD:- It was a long fight, but your attackers are gone, for better or worse. Feel free to rp out reactions, etc etc, accordingly. - IF YOU ARE UNCONSCIOUS YOU ARE NOW being TREATED, and can awaken to consciousness at any time... or have someone kick you to consciousness.

The hooded figure of Dr. H slowly turned to stare at the remains of the tent. Silence. Clarice took a step back. Silence. He took a step toward the tent, paused, and handed his assistant the shining red pendant. "Deal with this." As he made his way to survey the wreckage, there were no quips, no mocking taunts, no leering stares.
Clarice was more than happy to stay way the ******** away from that scene for as long as possible. Not bothering to put on the red pendant, she turned to the Last Monster Standing (or sprawling half awake, whatever) she gave him a tight smile, "Well, looks like the fun and games are over for now. I'm going to start kicking people awake, I'd suggest following closely behind me as you're a bit out-numbered."
Not bothering to see if the demon complied, the assistant did indeed begin kicking people awake. Start with the so-called Team Pheonix. "That." Kick. "Was." Pinch. "The most pathetic." Poke. "Bullshit..."
This went on for quite awhile.

And then Barth was not alone, in the worst way. He would have liked to be alone. The Soul Harvester disappeared. Christof and Calder disappeared. Other students. Bea. Dead? Transported? He didn't know. All he knew was that anything resembling friendly faces were gone, and all that left was him and a very angry, very thwarted looking bunch of humans.
Grabbing the red pendant and making a break for it did not occur to him. Making a break for anything is impossible when your top speed, at best, is a slow walk.
He did as directed, and kept as close to Clarice as demonly possible.

[[ Entering from Tent ]]
Bix emerged from the tent with his fellow hunters. He surveyed what had been a battle field and now was empty. All that littered the space was scraps of shredded clothing, scorch marks and a lot of groggy or still unconscious white garbed figures.
"s**t.. Ariane and Tika.." Bix started to search around for where he last saw both girls. "Guys .. look for Boss and Tika!"
He barely took two steps when his toe stubbed into a familiar shoulder. Apparently Tika had only taken a few steps out of the tent when she'd been knocked out.
It was pretty convenient actually.
"Some help over here?" He shook her lightly.

There was a light moan from Tika. Her hand slowly made its way to her forehead and she rubbed her temples.
"What happened... owww my freaking head.... owwww" It felt like a really really bad hang over. The teen kept her eyes shut tight, but she knew who had found her by the voice. Bix. What ever had happened was a blur. She remembered that they were being attacked. As far as the caged students escaping though, she had been completely knocked out.
Slowly she opened her eyes and let them roll in their sockets to stare up at Bix. It took a moment, but a smile formed. Tika would more then likely be okay.

"Ow! Ow ow ow-" Madison winced as someone delivered a kick to her side. Slowly, groggily, she sat up - she ached all over (partially from Clarice's 'tender' mercies), and a headache was thudding through her brain and...
...
She stared around the former battlefield, hands at her temples in a futile attempt to chase the pain away. What had happened? All the monsters were gone except for one particularly sad specimen that seemed thoroughly contained by Clarice's massive sword holy crap. And there were Hunters downed everywhere, their setup was reduced to wreckage, and...
"Did we... ugh..." She winced. "What happened..."
She had a very bad feeling about this. This didn't look like the site of a great victory... at least not for their side.

"Well she's not dead!" He yelled it loud enough so the others were here. "But she's smiling so she maaaay be crazy." A few random hunters came to assist in Tika getting up. They seemed to check her over and then just left.
"Well I guess you are fine if they didn't cart you off. Wait here.. Just take a minute." Bix stood back up. Boss had been fighting out on the field. She was after that horse he shot. As long as the kelpie didn't go far, she should be around there.
"Look fo the torn up ground... umm horseshoe tracks?" He was trying to help the search party and made an attempt himself to search around but that particular spot was a bit of a ways away.
