((Lolx thanks)) Alex thought about trying to attack the man, but in the dark she couldn't see anything and didn't know exactly where the guy was.

"German..." Karin groaned, "I've started to learn German after I finished with Mandarin and Japanese but I don't know enough of it to read anything yet..." Why would Elisa leave a clue in German? If there is significance of change in language, such as the enemy won't be able to read it, I suppose that rules out her governess as a suspect, she's fluent in German. So that means the kidnappers can't read German? Or does that mean they are German and Elisa's trying to leave a clue? So confused...

Alex decided to take a chance at escape. "So where are you from?" She asked the kiddnapper slowly rising to her feet in the process.
"I'm not telling you." He replied. It was enough of a voice to tell her where he was. She lanched herself at him in the darkness and landed right on top of him with a loud "oof"
"I see you've gotten out of the ropes." He whispered by her ear.

Aura scrunched her face up and fished a pencil out of a pocket. "I'll translate the letters anyway," and she did so on the back of the paper:
Er, der der Pier bis zum Nacht Und bis zum Tag geht, weicht allem Licht aus. Sie, die aber liest, nicht weiß Wer ein Verabscheuen des Schnees hat. In der Tinte ungesehen ein anderer Anhaltspunkt Lügen unter einem unreinen Schuh.
"Here," she presented the message to the others. "We could go to the library and find a dictionary...But really, why would she write it in german? And when did she find the time to do this?
"Please," she said, turning to Elias with a distraught expression. "Tell me this isn't some prank you guys planned as a Halloween scare."
((I plugged something into a translator so if you actually know german, it's probably really off. This is what I translated, but make something else up instead if you want smile : He who walks the pier by night, And by day eludes all light. She who reads but does not know, who much abhors cooked snow In ink unseen one more clue, lies beneath an unclean shoe.))

"It could mean that the kidnappers aren't German, or it could mean that they are and Elisa's trying to leave a clue. I think we should find Alex first though." Karin replied, pressing her ear to the wall, she was sure she heard something.

Aura shrugged and agreed, tucking the note and pen away. "I don't hear anything...do you?"

((Nice poem!!! My friend's fluent in german. I think that's right.)) Alex smiled in the dark. "Of course." SHe said and grabbed his head and hit it against the hard floor. It knocked him out and he went limp. She got up and grabbed any weapons she found, and she also looked at his face with the flashlight she had taken. She pulled off the suffocation mask and saw that he was a lightly tanned man with brown-ish blonde hair. He had a scar over his right eye and looked absolutely gorgous. Alex almost stayed there and waited for him to wake up, but decided against it.

Karin detected a faint thump on the other side of the wall, "Someone's behind there," she whispered, "And I'll bet that it's Alex." She reached up and tapped a almost invisible line on the wall, a doorway appeared in front of them. Karin could make out Alex and a unconscious man lying there, no one else was there. Karin nodded to Lee and Elias, "Why don't you two help her with the man? I want to see what the German reads, from what I can understand, I think it's in the form of a poem. Coming Aura?" Karin turned toward the direction of the library. As she was walking there, she suddenly had a thought, Wait, if the kidnappers know their way in the secret passages, then does that mean they've worked here and are familiar with the mansion? Or are they just lucky and stumbled on the passages? Have to get more information...

Alex smiled at her friends and the open door. "Hey guys, he's knocked out, don't worry about him. I got his mask." She said holding it up.

"Thank god you're ok," Lee sighed. "Now that we've found her, we should get this message decoded- if it's the only clue we've got to where the other Gilfaxes are."
"It's not a joke," Elias confirmed grimly. "I don't know much more about this riddle than you do, unfortunately. Elisa loved riddles, but I wasn't much of a fan of them, myself..."
"By the way, shouldn't we interrogate this man? Or at least keep him somewhere he can't interfere and keep guard... Since he kidnapped Alex, he must have had a reason for it. He's most likely related to the kidnappers who took away Mr. and Miss Gilfax- a valuable source of information."

((Thank you smile ))
Aura hesitated, looking at the man's face. When she couldn't stumble about it immediately, she followed Karin. Almost shaking, she bounded over to the reference section and pulled down two copies of the german dictionary.
"Er... E..." she stopped and let the book fall closed. "I know that guy! He's related to the new gardener somehow. Elias wouldn't know him, since he's been gone for nearly a half year. I don't remember his name, but he's Mr. Charnell's son or nephew or something like that. Charnell, Charnell... he's french, so I doubt he knows german." Saying german, she remembers the poem and returned to translating it as she ranted any other information on the mysterious guy's relative.
"He was hired around a month ago, I think. I'm not sure. Agh. We need to find that book of contacts. I have no clue where it is though. It's usually in Mr. Gilfax's study, but I have no clue what the passkey is. Elias might though. We can ask him. Anyways, Charnell was a nice guy. Around 60 I think. Slow, with a bad leg, but a diligent, honest worker.
"His son or nephew or whatever came here once, a fortnight ago, just before Elisa told me Elias was coming back. Mum didn't like him." She froze again... Goodness what Mum and Dad would think if they knew about this... When she recovered, she slid a notepad she had snatched off the wall earlier towards Karin. She had copied the german and translated the first couplet. "That would be Elias, I think," she said slowly, flinching. "He used to play poker with his friends on the pier during the plays. And he's always practicing his violin or studying during the day. Elisa used to call him nocturnal."
"Then again, it could be someone else..."
Guilt washed over Aura again and she blushed, looking down. Silent now, she continued to hep translate the poem.
((yea..I need to stop making up all this =.=
If you had something else planned that contradicts with what I just said, post, and tell me and I'll edit biggrin Because I feel like a nosy tyrant right now stressed ))

"That's it! Elias is the answer to the first line of the poem!" Karin exclaimed once Aura was finished speaking. As soon as she said this Karin thought of something, That means...Elias is part of this? But why would he?

Alex nodded to Lee's statement. "Yea I got rope and such in there. So let's get him out into the living room." She said grabbing the rope and the guy's arm. "Don't hurt him though." She said, although she didn't know why.
She thought she heard Arua talk about him being french and looked at her. "He had a french accent."
((Sweet I cna type i french!!))

Before long, Aura and Karin had deciphered the whole poem. "Let's to the living room then," she said, jotting down the other clues in the notepad.
With some hesitation, she left out the clue she'd found in Elias's letter.
"We've got it deciphered," she said, strolling in. She read it aloud and set the notepad on the coffee table. "Any guesses?"

Alex shrugged. "Maybe it's time to wake up him." Alex said guestureing to the man tied in the chair. "Anyone got water?" She asked.
