Alright, i'll need to hunt down copies of those books to see what's what. If you know a place where I can find them, that'd make life easier. Otherwise... Well, who knows how fast I can find them? xd

greetings... I am new to D&D surprised

... played in the worldwide release of 4th edition... now I love the game mrgreen

... I came to the guild looking for D&D because the place I play at is all full currently or are too far into the game that I'd probably die a horrible grizzly death should I enter, so I can't join any game, so I searched gaia and found this wonderful guild surprised

.. Call me Angel for short

I never knew the game was so much fun until now.. I missed so much in my life sad

I played it at my gaming store I visit, they were part of the world wide release so they got a whole bunch of "starter kits" and set up games. I played as a dwarven warrior surprised

... who was rather unlucky.. i was told by our rouge to charge the door... I did and it was unlocked and came one space away from hitting a statue as the dm put it "flew into the room" stupid doors stare

one point we had to get through a locked door... dwarf, go get it.. took me 4 turns of attacks to break through razz yay greataxe mrgreen

In an rp guild I'm about to setup an online D&D I have 3 of 5 people, were going to use the online rules I got from the first post in the OOC until I can buy the 4th edition book for 40 bucks 3nodding , then we will transfer over, I am really new to the game, but I'm really quick at learning and am probably a few short steps away from being a DM mrgreen

.. if only I could figure out how the hell to make a character profile sweatdrop

Someone here give me a walkthrough please? I know stuff but I can't get all my answers from the online source mad

I know the public library near me has alot of D&D books. I also have spent a few hours at a time sitting in Barnes & Noble reading through books i didn't have and taking notes with friends. If it's to much trouble, I can make a character out or the PH. I've been toying with a Fighter putting all feats into bow usage.

I check the wizards.com webpage, clicking on the D&D link alot. Reading through all the "characters with class" pages is good for ideas. there's a search box in the top right corner (make sure to click on the D&D page first), and you can check each jobclass and there's some partial info for most of them there.

Trouble is, for some crazy reason I thought it would be a good idea to move out in the boonies where things such as libraries and Barnes & Nobles are mythological creatures like the Yeti, El Chupacabra, soap, and the Jersey Devil.

It's not to much trouble, i'm just saying it make life easier if you can put it in my lap, so to speak. No worries, i'll find it. I'll check out wizards.com, at any rate.

also something I find helpful, check out Redblade.org. It has a downloadable character generator program for the PH classes in 3.5. It basically replaces the PH for me for most things.

If you're feeling crazy, you can open up the customize campaign option under Config and input info from other classes, but it's a bit of a headache.

I hear the new version rules can be quite a bit different from 3.5 in a lot of ways... and starter characters often have stats that are only good for a few levels, there made to be temporary, I can help with making characters ^.^ so can most here

Do we play according to 3.5 here or 4.0? I've got alot of learning to do if we're playing by 4.0.

We play by 3.5. I don't know a thing at all about 4. Nor do most of the players here.

Good good, that works for me. 4.0 seems awesome, but I don't have the time or money to learn it.

I'll be out of town Wednesday till Saturday, I'll see you guys again in a few days.

It does look like it could be cool, i've been peeking at it since it's been a subject around here. I must say it seems like they've made some good changes. That and the Warlord class looks like my sort of class...

Ew, I hate double posting. But, I feel this deserves its own post.

I may or may not have found a rather large torrent that runs 2.6 GB. This Torrent may or may not contain a sincerely large amount of copyrighted materials owned by WotC, such as the Complete Divine. I may or may not have begun to download said torrent to find the information y'all want me to have. If I did indeed download such a torrent, and it did indeed contain such a vast amount of information, it will make life a lot easier in the future because i'll have access to a lot more stuff. So, in short, I may or may not have an answer for your Favored Soul and Duskblade questions in the very near future (Depending on the hypothetical download speeds I can achieve in regards to the theoretical torrent file I may or may not have found).

I've played 4th, although I don't have the books, I had people help me, I've used the link in the first post and understand the 3.5 rules mostly, actually prepairing a campaign game surprised , if people are willing to take time from their real lives to play D&D online a couple times a month PM me, I'm accepting 6 players, but will start if I get at least 4, so far I got one player, most likely 2, hearts busy helping someone with a cleric character... but I think he said he's in... gotta make sure... ugh I hate the spell casters.. they so... COMPLEX mad they just annoy me... I mean I understand them and how to make them but they take so much longer to do... study spells.. choose domains... x.x

... From what I've seen between both rules.. they've cut back things but in exchange everything is organised 3nodding , for one thing you get a lot of hp wink . My dwarven warrior had over 30hp at level 1, no longer have to choose spells, just cast what you pick and so forth surprised , don't think theirs spell limits either, but I was a warrior, not the wizard... woah... dang.. scared the s**t out of me sweatdrop .. cute lil jumpin spider surprised so cute ^_^

anyway, you start off with a number of skills, and abilities called AT will, Encounter, and Daily powers

at will can be used all the time, encounter, once per encounter, and Daily.. explains itself xd

I'm not sure if I'll get into 4th... the campaign is starting at 3.5 but I might upgrade depends on how well 3.5 works 3nodding .

Everyone can now heal each day, yay ^_^, and clerics and pals can no longer be disowned razz .. well most likely.. I know clerics no longer get disowned by their god if they do something stupid, they no longer have "healing powers" per say, but instead have abilities which improve other peoples healing surges and so forth, they are still valuable though none the less mrgreen

also.. fort, ref, and will are now solid numbers, they are not saves they are like AC. Certain moves and spells strike at those values and if you beat the reflex, fort, will and so on you take damage, it seems easier then 3.5 but its lost a little flavor by the looks of it
