Whitney smiled slightly, relieved that she hadn't been turned down. "Thanks," she murmured, setting her tray down carefully upon the table so that its decent was noiseless. Whitney had always been taught that the essence of a lady was her elegant silence even in the simplest of tasks; now, all the actions she had labored to perfect came as naturally as breathing. Whitney's pale hands raised slowly and she pulled her long braid of chocolate hair over one shoulder before sitting down. Her hair was so long, she always had to make sure and keep good track of it. Firstly, sitting on it was painful, and if it was out of sight.... well, being so long disaster was liable to fall. But having it over her shoulder presented another problem: the issue of eating around it. But years of practice had ruled out that particular problem and, besides, Whitney's table manners were flawless.

"I haven't seen you around before," she murmured as a way of making conversation. She handled her fork delicately, quickly spearing some salad on her fork before she raised it to her perfectly formed, cherry-red lips. "Are you new? Or am I simply inattentive?" she asked, a small, shy smile gracing her lips. Whitney wasn't good with conversation; she had always been one for the shadows. However, this year she was determined to change that! With any luck, she would finally be able to choose her friends for herself and hopefully actually enjoy school.

"My name's Whitney, by the way. What's yours?"

Will's upbringing had been quite different from Salem's. Though it was true that he, too, had been brought up in a residential school, the runnings had been very different. For the director of the school in Liverpool, every mutant added had been another thorn in his side. True, they had all done some form of work for the man, but he detested them too much to keep too many of them together, no matter the profit. Besides which, keeping the residential school had really just been a political favor for a friend, for which he was receiving vast amounts of money. He hardly cared what the boys did, so long as they were given plenty of punishment for the smallest of mistakes. Rather than doing anything useful, Will had spent the majority of his time either hiding from teachers and peers or getting beaten or abused by them. Years of hiding had taught him how to be as small and unappealing as possible, as a means of protection.

Will nodded slowly, not quite sure what to make of the other's small jibe. It wasn't that Will didn't eat -- he did, though the rations at the school hadn't exactly been generous -- but the food never really... fully processed. He was tiny with sickness and with mutation, his very form compressed down into its smallest essentials. Still, when needed, he could pack a surprisingly strong punch. "Breakfast sounds like the best idea I've heard since the light bulb," he remarked a little dryly, the faintest touch of humor in his voice. It wasn't something that happened often -- the humor, that is. Will was, needless to say, usually very quiet and contained. He seldom joked around or made noise. But he was trying to act differently today, trying to at least be a bit pleasant. He didn't want to have an uncomfortable dorm life so he was going to do his best at making it as good as he could.

Will followed the other noiselessly down to the cafeteria, bag in hand. Unlike Salem, Will's uniform was textbook perfect. Even though he had never so much as been within ten feet of clothes nearly as nice as the ones he was wearing today, the student handbook had explained well enough how to put it on and after that it was merely an issue of copying the picture exactly. As a result, Will was probably, ironically enough, one of the most smoothly dressed students that morning, though his hair was still a mess.

Will got his food quickly. Thankfully, the chefs were adept at speeding through the line. Will had to admit that he was quite hungry and that the food at Blackthorn was much better than anything he had had before. So, thinking that he would take Salem's advice, he gave himself a good-sized (though not quite large) amount of food to start with, hoping that his appetite, which was usually small, would allow him to down it all. After receiving his food, though, he wasn't quite sure where to go. Should he join Salem? What if Salem didn't want him there? He couldn't eat in the library, but he couldn't just stand there, either..... And so, finally, he decided to follow the other to a table, hoping that his room mate wouldn't mind.

He sat down slowly, feeling rather self-conscious as the others' eyes flitted towards him. Today, his hair was, while not exactly neat, neater. It had been slicked back slightly by the water and though now some of it was falling into his eyes, his usual mess of hair was being slightly tame (though he wasn't really sure if that was a good thing or not). Will pushed his glasses up his nose and then began to eat, careful not to make a mess of himself among such sophisticated (or at least high class) company.

The little Korean boy shrugged, a light grin on his lips. "What can I say? It runs in the family," he replied easily, seeming completely relaxed after his acts of so-called contortionist. Really, they were nothing of the sort. Yun-Ha had seen real contortionism and what he had done was nothing compared to that. Of course, that didn't mean that he couldn't do contortionism; he could, he just didn't think his new room mate would be able to take anything much more, or at least not so suddenly. He would waist before showing the true extent of his natural abilities [mutation aside, for he would never show that off].

Yun-Ha frowned and shrugged, though he obviously didn't mind the other's comment on the state of his familiarity with the school. Or, at least, the grin that soon grew upon his lips gave that impression. "Of course I'm going to get lost. I haven't actually been through the rest of the school yet, you know. So, as my room mate, I think I will impress upon you the solemn duty of tour guide 'round this instructional facility," he said with mock-seriousness as he shouldered his bag and followed the other out the door. "Why, just think what a noble cause you are committing yourself to and I am sure that your heart will overflow with righteous pride!" Yun-Ha exclaimed, grinning broadly.

The buzz of noise that greeted them as they entered the dining area was nothing to Yun-Ha. He had always been one amongst the crowd, an easy and sociable lad who could effortlessly charm and befriend all those around himself. As he stepped through the open doorway and into the caf, a bright smile spread across his lips. He couldn't help it, it just smelled so good!! And so he stepped eagerly into line with Oliver, his stomach grumbling slightly in its impatience to be filled.

Yun-Ha had always grown up with very good-quality [and exceptionally healthy] food; however, he had to admit that the cafeteria at Blackthorn was amazing. The so-called "simple" breakfast buffet was filled with top notch dishes made with only the finest ingredients. For several fleeting moments, the boy pondered just what families paid in order to send their children to such an extravagant. Not that he really cared. Yun-Ha was getting a full ride, a sort of "scholarship" for being the first [and perhaps only] generation in an experiment that would forever shape the future. Yun-Ha piled his tray high, taking a wide selection of everything from a very healthy and green salad to a three-high stack of pancakes that he had practically drowned in maple syrup. Yun-Ha had always had an insatiable sweet tooth and now, when faced with so many delicious possibilities, was no time to cut back.

Yun-Ha followed Oliver out of the line; it looked as if they were headed towards a relatively deserted table, but they were soon stopped by the chatter of a soccer-loving brunette. Yun-Ha regarded the teen for several moments as he and Oliver exchanged words. He seemed pretty nice, or at least like someone that Yun-Ha could get along with. And Oliver liked him [or at least tolerated him, because he did seem rather annoyed], which was a definite plus. He hadn't known the ginger-haired youth for more than a couple days, but he could already see that his liked his room mate.

Yun-Ha had been about to introduce himself, but as they approached the table, conversation turned towards the topic of the many new people at Blackthorn. The boy frowned slightly, looking a little uneasy for a moment before his usual smile popped back on his lips. Whatever he did, he couldn't let them get suspicious.

"Hey," he piped up, speaking for the first time to the chocolaty male. "I'm Yun-Ha," he said, deciding to introduce himself since he didn't think Oliver was going to do it. "And I just happen to be one of those dreadfully new students you mentioned," he said, grinning lightly as he laid emphasis on the word "dreadful." As they reached the table, he set his [very heavy] tray down and then looked back up towards Diego. "But I don't think there's any big deal. I just heard that a whole bunch of us were getting scholarships as a way to broaden the horizons of the school or something," he concocted with a small shrug. "I mean, I'm kind of a semi-exchange student, I guess, except that I'm here to stay."

Daisuke walked the vast halls of the school a map in his hand he wondered around gawking at the expensive decor of the school. Having never been to a school of any sort everything fascinated the neko boy.

His listened as his shoes made sounds that reverberated off the walls, he had been wondering the school since sun up, alone and curious checking out all the different things. He had been shying away form everyone he came across because well, having been home schooled by his older brother Daisuke had zero social skills with anyone other than his family, which wasn’t saying much. When Kyo wasn’t teaching him school he was training Daisuke body in various martial arts. And when Kenshin wasn’t yelling at him he was silent and brooding all in all leaving the teen with not a clue as to how to talk to people no matter how desperately he wanted to.

Currently the long haired teen was making his way towards what he hoped was the cafeteria, all the walls seemed the same to him and the map was almost useless but his sensitive nose was directing him in the right direction and his stomach growled hungrily, usually he had already eaten his first meal an hour ago, but today he had gotten very distracted.

Luckily finding his way to the cafeteria Daisuke entered and was overwhelmed by all the smells and noise from various foods and people, he stood in the door way shock and unsure what his next move should be.

Salem took a seat amongst the gaggle of pretty and popular girls. There was a grin on his face and he was pleased to see that they were smiling too. Though he hadn't thought it possible his reputation had spread over the past three days. Word traveled as fast here at Blackthorn Academy as it did at his previous school, but St. Patrick's only had a quarter of the population. Salem was floored by how quickly the "In Crowd" had accepted him as one of their own and for the life of him he couldn't decide whether he was just so irresistible, or these people were incredibly stupid.

Salem knew he was charming, it was one of the qualities that had helped him survive the last few years, but that charm was only skin deep. In all truth, he didn't give a damn about anyone but himself. Not these girls. Not his roommate. Not Pluto. Not even the people who brought him here. In fact, the only reason he agreed to participate in this little experiment was because it required him to be moved out of St. Patrick's, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered.

Oh well. If these people wanted to give him the keys to the kingdom then who was he to refuse? He didn't care about their well-being, yes, but that didn't mean he couldn't take full advantage of their generosity.

He was a surprised when Will sat down at the table with him. From what he had seen so far, his roommate was a loner, timid, the kind of person Salem would seduce to see how far he could penetrate their defences rather than befriend. Still, he supposed he should hold some sympathy for the boy since they were roommates, but it was hard to have any feeling for such a hopeless cause.

However while Salem didn't mind Will's presence, in fact he found it kind-of amusing, not everyone shared his view. One of the girls, he remembered she'd introduced herself as Yasmine the other night, was watching the bespeckled brunet from the instant he approached the table. If you compared the group to a pack of wolves, this girl was the alpha male - or female in this case - and the others followed her lead. Now that's all fine and dandy, they could follow her off a cliff for all he cared, but Yasmine was no saint, Salem discovered that not even five minutes after meeting her.

'And people think mutants are inhuman,' Salem thought as he watched a viciousness fill her eyes. He didn't understand how such a pretty girl could let such ugly emotions taint her beautiful face, but maybe that was because he was use to keeping his true feelings locked away inside.

"Oh Salem, sweetie," Yasmine began in a pitying tone that immediately rubbed him the wrong way. The brunet couldn't stand pity, or those who gave it. Allowing yourself to be pitied was a sign of weakness and Salem was many things, but weak wasn't one of them. Still, he turned to the girl with a casual smile on his lips if only just to prove that it was possible to maintain a good expression in the face of unpleasant situations.

“This table’s reserved for cool people only” Yasmine continued as if this information was obvious to everyone except Will and himself, “And your little tag along –totally not cool. He’ll have to go.”

“Yasmine honey,” Salem replied, deciding to throw her pet name tactics right back at her, “That ‘tag-along’ just so happens to be my roommate.”

“And that’s unfortunate, but that doesn’t mean you have to risk all of our reputations just because you feel sorry for the guy. You only sleep in the same room Salem; you’re not married to him or nothing.”

Salem had had enough by this point. Rising from his chair he leaned across the table, supporting his weight against the surface with one of his hands. It was easier this way; Yasmine was sitting a few chairs down, in the heart of the group, and on the opposite side. The smile on his face became a little more suave as he hovered not even half a foot away from Yasmine’s face. This was as far as he needed to go to know how taken she was with him; Salem hadn’t even touched her yet and already she was struggling to keep her breath from catching in her chest.

“Yasmine,” the brunet said gently - his Irish broag was always more apparent when he used his seductive voice - and traced his index finger along her jaw line, “I see where you’re coming from and believe me, the last thing I want to do is injure your reputation but he’s my roommate... And if he goes... So do I.”

Works every time.’ The moment Yasmine looked into his eyes he knew he had her hook, line and sinker.

“Well,” she said with a soft, almost embarrassed giggle, “I guess it’s alright, but just this once.”

"Perfect!" Salem grinned, a gesture which brightened up his face immensely, and just like that the spell was broken. He pulled back and, silently triumphant that his ploy had been so successful, sat down in his chair as if nothing had happened with Yasmine at all.

((Right here? D: ))

As usual, Pluto had risen early that morning. Being raised as a butler tended to imprint rather early waking habits upon a young lad. Now it was merely habitual for Pluto to rise early and he customarily greeted the morning far before those around himself. This morning had been no different. He had taken his time getting ready, making sure that his appearance, as usual was flawless. Now, Pluto was nothing at all vain; in fact, he was incredibly modest. But being raised to be the next butler of an incredibly prestigious family had taught him to take immaculate care of his appearance. After all, he had to look every bit as appealing and sophisticated as the family he served; otherwise, he would be no more than an embarrassment, a shame, and would soon be ousted for his unworthiness. He had therefor ironed his uniforms the night before and was now fastening his tie, making sure that it lay exactly perfectly across the pitch value of his uniform. Finally content, he backed up from the mirror, a lightly pleased smile on his lips. Now that his appearance had been taken care of, his hair carefully brushed and shining like a raven's wing, he was ready to go.

Pluto shouldered his new school bag, which he had buffed and shined just the night before, and headed down to the cafeteria. The food here was, of course, much better than anything the residential school. However, Pluto could not permit himself to show his surprise; he had to make absolutely sure that he did not stand out too much by making apparent just how unused to all this he was. Of course, Pluto had never factored in his appearance. No matter how he acted, he would always stand out -- he was too attractive not to. All his careful self presentation did was to make him look like another rich kid, an unfamiliar face but, nevertheless, one who undoubtedly fit in in the world of Blackthorn Academy.

Of course, beneath Pluto's careful nonchalance, he was a bit of a mess. He was ever so worried that, any moment from now, he would lay eyes on someone that would awaken the Prince within him. Of course, he hadn't used his magic any time recently -- except that night with Salem, but the Prince's numerous appearances after that had already compensated for that slip-up -- so he was probably safe. Or at least, he hoped he was.

Pluto carefully selected his food, his breakfast balanced and simple, just as his appearance was. Once finished, he turned to find that, apparently, someone had just been waiting for him to be through. There was a girl before him: a pretty little redhead who was slightly breathless and flushed in the face. "H-hey," she stammered, blushing and trying to smile attractively. "I'm Amber," she said. "What's your name?"

"Pluto," he replied, his voice smooth like velvet.

Amber's blush intensified and she continued, "W-well, Pluto, would you like to sit with me and my friends?" she asked, gesturing back to the table where Yasmine, Salem and Will were. Pluto's sapphire gaze followed her hand and, recognizing the two familiar faces, he nodded slowly.

"Sure," he replied coolly, and he followed Amber back to the table. Amber, of course, looked exceptionally pleased with herself. Pluto sat down slowly, directly across from Will and Salem. There was something... familiar about Salem's room mate, but Pluto couldn't place it. He couldn't have met Will before -- that was for sure -- and yet he looked so familiar.... He probably just looked like someone Pluto knew, but who....?

"Hey," he murmured, his voice smooth like syrup as he speared a bite of lettuce on his fork and ate it. "How're you?" Pluto's cheeks were dusted ever the lightest shade of pink as he glanced towards Salem. The memory of what had happened three nights ago was still fresh in his mind, or at least it was while he was looking Salem in the face. Of course, the Prince was not nearly so sentimental and embarrassed as Pluto, but the host simply couldn't let it go.

**

Will, of course, was feeling none too comfortable at the "popular" table. In fact, the only reason he had even sat there was because... well, he had been trying to get along with Salem. But as Yasmine spoke, the boy's cheeks began to burn a deep red from beneath his glasses. He raised a hand slowly and pushed a lock of chocolaty hair that was aggravating him back behind his ear. His emerald eyes had fallen down towards the table, unable to raise to meet the eyes of any others'.

Will had actually prepared himself to leave -- he was just about to stand up -- when Salem replied, thoroughly surprising the petite teen. He blinked slowly, looking rather miffed. After all, it wasn't as if he and Salem were best buds or anything. As Yasmine had said, they were just room mates. But, all the same, he was grateful that Salem had stood up for him. For all that he would prefer to sit with other people, he still wanted to at least try and leave a slightly good impression upon his room mate.

As Salem sat down, Will leaned over and murmured, "Th-thanks.... But it's alright. I can leave if you want me to." He glanced up at Salem, his green orbs meeting the other's, sincerity showing in his eyes. Will never spoke much, but when he did, he meant it. "And sorry... for being an embarrassment," he added after a moment. Will's voice was so quiet that no one but Salem would be able to hear.

Pluto had watched the scene before himself unfold. He hadn't done anything -- after all, it didn't involve him and he always tried not to mess with other's problems -- but he was relieved when Salem defended Will. Smiling, he leaned forward across the table and said, "Hey, so... Will, right?" Will nodded. "Did I ever tell you that you look familiar? Like really familiar? Could I have ever met a relative of yours or something because I swear that I've seen you or... someone like you or something before. I just don't get it, but it's been bugging me ever since I saw you before...."

Will shrugged, looking slightly uncomfortable at receiving this boy's attention. It was just that Pluto was so attractive and that he had been playing around with Salem earlier (Will knew this, although he didn't like to think about it) and he was just so intimidating in an odd sort of way.... It was probably just because he was so tall and so immensely beautiful. "I... dunno. I don't think so. I mean, I don't have any siblings or anything and I only just moved here from England...."

Pluto frowned, looking thoughtful. "England..." he murmured thoughtfully. He hadn't been there in years. "Well, it's possible. I was actually born there...." He paused a moment, deliberating as he speared some breakfast upon his fork, and then asked, "What's your surname?"

"Moore," he replied, after swallowing (with some difficulty) his bite, his throat feeling slightly... odd. For some reason, he didn't feel particularly hungry any more. Perhaps it was the intensity of Pluto's gaze, or maybe just that his too-small appetite had won out once more.... He didn't know, but suddenly swallowing seemed a much more difficult task than it had merely moments ago.

Pluto frowned slightly. "Moore..." he murmured, thinking, before he finally just shook his head. "Well, it sounds familiar... but then it's a bit of a common last name.... Well, maybe I'm just kidding myself, thinking that you look familiar," he replied, his dark brow furrowed. But he looked as if he didn't really believe that he could be mistaken.

Amber, who had been looking slightly put-out by the fact that her target was conversing with such a loser, brightened at the chance to show her great knowledge of all things social. "Hey... I think there's someone here named Moore or something. I've definitely heard it. I can look it up later, if you'd like..." she said, somehow managing too look both shy and sly at the same time.

Pluto beamed his soft smile as he turned to the girl, causing her to blush profusely. "That would be lovely, Amber. Thank you so much," he murmured. She nodded, looking very pleased.

Then, Pluto turned to Salem. "So," he said, his tone kept politely neutral, "been keeping out of trouble? Or just in it?" he asked.

Ryo was bored, to say the least. His breakfast was already half gone, his roommate/ boyfiend...well, crush anyway, wasn't talking to him, and he was completely alone in a room filled with people. He liked the solitude, to some extent, bu still wanted someone to talk to.

He looked up at the door, half wondering if Emery was there, and saw someone. he was the same height as himself, tan, long black hair.
'He's not too bad on the eyes.'

Ryo smiled a little, not really noticing he had. The boy looked confused, maybe even a little nervous. So Ryo decided to try and be nice. He waved for the boy to come over and join him for breakfast.

He hoped the boy had noticed.

(Come on Bloodyfire666, let's have Daisuke and Ryo play together)

[umm mikado kun.... daisuke has a device that hides his nekoness... so he appears just ordinary human to everyone since ya know mutants are frowned upon. If you wouldn't mind editing your post a little please I am more than happy to rp with you ^^]

Daisuke was just coming out of his momentary panic when he spotted someone waving him over. He looked around quickly seeing no one else close by he could only assume it was he who this boy as waving over.

Daisuke slowly approched the brunette not wanting too seem too eager and happy someone wanted to talk to him but also a little cautious what if it was a trap? What if the boy wanted to make fun of him. Daisuke emntally sweat dropped he was being far too paranoid, straightening his posture he beamed as he reached the table "Hi" he greeted "I hope it was me who you were waving over else this would be rather embaressing on my behalf" Daisuke chuckled, so far so good no attacks had been launched.

(I'm so sorry! I read over your profile 3 TIMES!!! I can't believe I forgot!!!)

Ryo smiled as the boy walked over. He really was a cute guy.
"Yup, I was waving to you"

he gave his winning smile, the smile he had only showed to two other people...Yuki (his little brother) and Emery...to the boy.
"You seemed lost. I thought I'd be nice and let you have a seat. I'm assuming you're new?"

Daisuke felt much better seeing the smile, it reminded him of Kyo's smile "Yes thank you, I am new here, very excited so your kindness is very welcome" He replied taking the seat across from Ryo.

"My name is Honada Daisuke, it's nice to meet you" He grinned as he started to eat an apple.

[last name was spoken first]

Ryo grinned "He's nice. that's always a plus."
"So should I call you Daisuke or Honda-San?" He smiled. Ryo wasn't sure why, but he'd always loved the name Daisuke. Maybe because he had a crush on Daisuke Niwa from DNAngel when he was 7.
"I'm Ryo Maio, but you can call me Ryo."
((Thank you))

"Oh!" Daisuke flushed, how silly of him, he shoulda known to tell this kind boy what name he was called by. "Daisuke, please, just call me Daisuke Honada-san is my father" he chuckled. He liked the boy's name, Roy, it would be really easy to remember since it was similar to Kyo's name. and it was thanks to Kyo he could be here now talking to this lovely boy. "If you've noticed I'm new to the school, have you been here awhile?" He asked curiously. Unseen to the other Daisuke's neko ears twitched curiously from all the sounds around him, it was so hard to just concentrate on one thing.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 02, 2008 6:05 pm

Ryo smiled. "Daisuke" He tried the name out
"I've always loved that name. Oh, and no. I'm new too. But you looked lost so I assumed you haven't made any friends yet. Thus not having anywhere to sit."
If Ryo came off as arrogant or rude, he really didn't mean to be. he was just very perseptive.
"Sit here anytime you want. I'll make sure a seat is available."
Ryo winked at the boy. he could be so evil sometimes. Honest;y, though, he wasn't trying to be flirty. It just seemed funny to him

"Thank you very much, I'll be sure to take you up on that" He smiled in return, he didn't quite fully understand the wink but lumpe dit in with normal human actions towards one another. Kyo occasionally did thta, though it was after saying stuff like 'this is between you and me'

"As for being lost, well this school is just so big and well, I've been too busy exploring I haven't yet found time to make friends" he admitted easily.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 03, 2008 2:42 am

"Good. Now neither of us will be alone......at lunch that is"
Ryo didn't want to think about Emery now. Thinking turns into wishing, which turns onto longing, which turns into obsession. He knew the process well.
"This school isn't big. It's HUGE! I don't know HOW THE HECK they expect us not only to FIND our classes, but be there ON TIME!!!"
Ryo laughed a little. he loved going on little tirades about the most random things.

Daisuke laughed as well and pulled out his map of the school, though he didn't need it too much now since he had already wondered around most of the school grounds. "I've heard these things help" He said pushing the map over towards Ryo with a small catlike smirk.

He didn't want to reveal that this was his first time in a school ever "Besides I'm sure the teachers expect students to be lost or late on the first couple of days... right?" He wasn't sure at all what a teacher would be like. But this one boys kindness was already easing the neko's fears and doubts about coming here.

'I can't wait to tell Shi-chan' He thought to himself, his tail curling and uncurling
