[picture.perfect.failure] Personally, I felt like it had almost the perfect amount of just about every genre. I had all the feels!
Though I'm not sure why watching it in Hollywood mattered to anyone...
Anyway, give it a chance. I've definitely seen worse. Um, didnt say it had to matter to anyone. I'm saying that Hollywood is where the premiers of movies are shown months before their actual release into theatres. But ok.

Kyrre I'm surprised you remembered her name, Gabby!
Valyrian, no need to 'step down' at all. I'll probably do a bit of RPing but I wouldn't dream of asking anything like that.
I haven't seen warm bodies.. looks better than twilight but I still can't bring myself to watch it. Needs more action! Are you sure? You wouldn't have to ask. The position is yours man, I was just keeping the spot warm for you. razz

How did you get to see I before it premiered, V? Did you get to see a lot of advanced screenings of movies? 'Cause that's pretty awesome! (: We have a couple of advanced screenings around here, but most of them are in the city, which is close, but train fares are expensive emotion_donotwant
Ahh, yayy, I got it! It is a very unique name, after all. Glad you two are still together, Kyrre ^^

They are free to get into as well, and at the mall i work at there people that hand out flyers every week for new movies. There was one I wanted to see that had Robert de Niro but i had to work and missed it. And there was one for the new Evil Dead last night. I heard it was pretty gruesome.

Wham.Bam.Thank.You.Ma'am.
That was directed at no one in particular. How are we all. Looks like 'the Founder' posted. Let's get on that.
Recently saw the movie, 'Life of Pi'. Yeah, I didn't go to the theatre. Save that moola. But that movie. I really enjoyed it. Visually ridiculous and stunning. But the way the story was told. Very powerful, and it was really a taste of something different.
Also, I'm getting sort of excited about the new show, 'Defiance' coming out. Looks really awesome. And yes. 'Game of Thrones' is the.mc.shiz. I can't imagine going to those huge empty spaces to film like the scenes in Iceland 'beyond the wall'. I do want to see 'The Host' just more because I enjoy Saoirse Ronan's work...and I really want to see the movie 'Byzantium' when it finally is released. A totally different take on vampire shtuff, but produced/directed by the folks that did 'Interview with a Vampire'. But yeah. Saoirse was so kick a** in 'Hanna'.

Man, that's cool. They're free here, too, but you have to be on their mailing list to receive the screening info. They have them like every day, but it's an invite only type thing most of the time.
And I saw Life of Pi the second it got on iO On Demand and DAYUM were the visuals stunning. I cannot believe that all of that was done on the computer, it's incredible. And I agree, the story was powerful. My only gripe with the movie is that it is perhaps a tad bit too long, but other than that, wonderful. Defiance looks like it's either gonna be really interesting or really terrible XD Ugh, The Host, I hate Stephenie Meyer so idk if I can sit through it...though the people who made Interview with a Vampire did an AMAZING job.
I'm really excited that Mad Men is coming back, man, is that an amazing show.

The visuals. I'm still thinking about the visuals. Yes...maybe a tad too long. But the ending...and the questions...I'm still thinking about it...so. It must be better than the, 'Digest this film, forget the whole bloody thing the hour after'.
And yes. I'm excited for the possibility that Defiance might be good. It could be really good...or really bad. Haha. Not another space drama that doesn't compare to 'Firefly'. One of my old prof's would go on and on about 'Star Wars' being some obnoxious horse opera in space. "It's just a bunch of horse s**t," he would say in his Tennessee southern drawl.
I do strongly dislike Stephanie Meyer...but. Saoirse. Might bring it to life. We'll see. And 'Byzantium' will most definitely be better than The Host. Hopefully...fingers crossed for all that is worth.
Also, is anyone into X-Men....I'm kinda excited for what Bryan Singer is going to do with 'Days of Future Past' arc. I love that he's bringing everyone back, but f*** the police, I want to see Gambit and Rogue for ONCE. Though...not Taylor Kitsch as Gambit. I wonder how they're gonna try and fix/correct the train wreck that was X3. Even Wolverine Origins. And come on. Moira McTaggart is from Scotland. And Emma Frost and the whole bit with the Hellfire Club...she's from England. Fix.that. emotion_kirakira And...I still have to watch Mad Men. And also, the art documentary you recommended...Waste Land...so good. So amazing. I remember studying his Sugar People a few years ago in one of my classes.

I had a professor who was completely obsessed with Star Wars, he would cringe at it being described as an obnoxious horse opera in space XD
I LOVE X-MEN. X3 was such a painful trainwreck, I just pretend that it was never made. What was the point of killing off Professor X?? Poor choice. And though I did find X-Men: Wolverine entertaining, it was also poorly made. Not to mention the fact that they tried so hard to make it look "edgy and cool," making it look like freaking 300 -.- I agree, they definitely need someone else to play Gambit. And he and Rogue need to get together already, it's so incredibly frustrating that it hasn't happened yet. X-Men: Origins was awesome except for Emma Frost. They did an awful job casting her, she wasn't sassy at all and she's such a badass in the comics. They didn't even address the fact that she's one of the few Level 5 mutants around; they just made her look like such a weakling when she's one of their largest enemies until she chooses their side. So upsetting. But I hear they're coming out with a new one soon?
omg, Mad Men is brilliantly written. So much about gender roles and everything. I can't even. And yes! I'm glad you enjoyed it (:I thought it was so touching, he's an amazingly humble artist.

Actually, the Emma Frost solo/origin series established that Emma Frost is from Boston, Massachusetts.
I was more bitchy about Banshee being American and Alex being completely unrelated to Scott in the films. There's also the fact that in the comics Magneto's entire family was killed by firing squad before getting the chance to be sent to the concentration camps, but I chalk that up to the fact that Magneto - Testament was a very recent mini-series. But despite all my continuity bitchiness, I loved First Class. I'm kinda half and half on Days of Future Past. It's ambitious, but it could easily blow up in Singer's face.
EDIT: (Had to cut this post short because my phone's battery was in its final death throes.)
I actually didn't hate Taylor Kitsch's casting as Gambit, I blame that completely on poor direction and even worse writing, the same as Deadpool; Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Kitsch did exactly as good as they could pull from a completely s**t script. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was just a complete mess through and through. It was a huge case of "Let's throw a bunch of crap on the screen and hope to god someone is entertained, it's a summer action movie, it'll reel in the bucks regardless of how crappy it is." There was entirely too much going on at once, and for a movie with very little story(almost all of which it got completely wrong; they actually made Wolverine about fifty years older than he is in the comics for NO other reason than to put him in the American civil war, they made Sabretooth his brother, they made Silver Fox a mutant, they made Agent Zero an Asian-American when he was supposed to be East German and used the code name Maverick when with Team X and had kinetic energy-based powers... and I could go on and on for years...), it had entirely too many plots going on all at once.

I mean. Silver Fox as Emma Frost's sister? Is that for real? I didn't know she was supposed to be Boston based. I just remember the X-Men animated series depicting her with a supremely UK accent, and also in Wolverine and the X-Men more recently. I also didn't HATE Taylor Kitsch but, I feel like his depiction of a Creole accent should be much much thicker. And...that being said...even Anna Paquin needs to thicken it up in terms of southern attitude as Rogue. Lenore Zann kinda ruined us on whatever Caldecott County is supposed to sound like. However...the writers should put more southern sass in. Anna pulls it off somehow in True Blood. We all need a lil more sugah.
And yes. Ryan Reynolds...personally...is a wonderful pick for Deadpool. They just did a ************* job on the script. I did love First Class. I feel it was the best one to date. But I felt like Emma Frostypants needed to be much sassier. Why would she hold back? Because she was young? Days of Future Past...when I heard that was the arc they were going with...it is ridiculously ambitious. And yeah, I do hope it doesn't blow in Singer's face. And I completely agree about Banshee and Alex.
Also, the good news is...the chick that played Emma Frost in First Class...won't be back in the fold for Days of Future Past. And it is scheduled to come out summery of 2014 I think..

Yeah, I got pissed about that casting choice in Wolverine and the X-Men, though I loved that series. But then I never really liked any iteration of Emma Frost, so it never bothered me as much(I hated her as a villain, I hate her even more as a hero, I hated her even more since Avengers vs. X-Men... but don't get me started on that shitty comic, that's a whole can of worms you don't want me to open...) as with other characters(like Toad being American and Domino, my favorite Marvel female, being in the Brotherhood); I think the only version of Emma Frost that never got on my nerves every second she was present was the anime version. I personally never liked Anna Paquin for Rogue, but then I generally don't like that actress.
I was personally hoping they would make a movie out of the Project Wideawake storyline(though that could easily be integrated into a DOFP movie), or one out of the Mutant Massacre(to date, my favorite Chris Claremont X-Men storyline).
As far as Marvel movies go, the ones I'm really looking forward to are Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man, but those don't come out for a bit(the latter not till after Avengers 2). Also David Tennant says he wants to play Mr. Fantastic in the Fantastic Four reboot(which is apparently supposed to take place in the same universe as the X-Men movies), so if that happens I'm gonna watch the everliving hell out of that movie when it eventually comes out.
EDIT: Also, gonna shamelessly plug some stuff here, but if you guys like X-Men you should check out the first three links in my signature and join those guilds. I'm a captain in Exodus(technically VC, but we all share the guild equally), and we'd love to have more active members.
