That he'd be able to mount more weapons and armour then you'd originally think. But then, considering the sensors used not much thought was put into it.

This is why we have the size and weight limits.
He was small and light, which gave him alot of maneuverability.
He could have been maximum size and weight, meaning he wouldn't be going anywhere other than in space, even then he wouldn't be going anywhere quickly, and he'd look like a mini Death Star.
We don't want anyone being godly and anyone else being a paper machine. Thats why we try desperately to ballance it out.
