LonesLover Yumi nervously arrived at the Kazenotanpopo Okiya. She had no idea of what to expect. She had no idea what a 'Geisha' was and what they did. For all she knew, they were big monsters who ate up little maids who didn't work hard enough. Yumi laughed out loud, No way that Geisha are monsters...I'm just going crazy, she thought. Slowly and delicately, she walked to the door of the Okiya. Never had she felt completely alone. She didn't have anyone here beside her or anyone hoping for her success, just herself and all her lonliness. Taking a deep breath, Yumi knocked on the door to the Okiya and silently waited for an answer. [Post 1]

Yumi smiled and gave the deepest bow she could. This woman certainly wasn't a monster. She relaxed as she walked in to the Okiya. Slipping out of her shoes, she answered, "My name is Yumi. I'm very pleased to meet you, Hara!" Yumi gave another deep bow and held there a while.
Slowly she began to stand straight but studied the Geisha before her. She looked like a normal person. Even more confused, Yumi began wondering what a Geisha truly was.
But she didn't worry too much. In stead, she waited for the woman, Hara, to give her her first orders.

Yumi watched as Hara began to walk away and slowly walked behind her. She nearly came to a stop while she peeked into all the open rooms. Staring at the walls and letting her eyes hang on various objects throughout the Okiya.
Suddenly, Yumi realized how far behind she was from Hara and ran to meet up with her. She bowed and waited for the woman to resume walking.

Yumi followed closely to Hara as she entered the room.
As Hara spoke of the various things she would be doing as a maid, she listened and hung onto her every word. She tucked all those chores into the back of her mind and vowed to do each and every one perfectly. Yumi liked Hara, she talked so sweetly to someone in the position of Maid that Yumi was suprised.
Greatfully, she bowed as Hara left the room. Yumi walked over to the bed in the corner and sat down on it gently and waited.

Hara came back into the room and walked over to Yumi sitting on the bed....she then handed her the maid kimono....which was Gray with dark blue trim....Giving a smile....Hara asked..."Do you have any questions before starting Yumi.

Smiling, Yumi took the kimono and ran her hand over it.
"Thank-you, Hara."
Yumi smiled brightly to Hara then asked, "The only question I have is what I should start doing first, if you could please tell me, I'll get to it right away!" Yumi bowed her head deeply.
Cleaning an Okiya can't be too bad. Defiantly not as bad as a resturant or any such like that, Yumi thought. Musing, she pictured herself scrubbing the floors of the Okiya and cleaning the garden, things she enjoyed. Yumi loved cleaning, oddly enough, so a job like this was sure to keep her entertained.

Hara smiled ...Then said Your Welcome then continued ...."Well the graden does need some weeding and some much needed watering....if you would like to start there...You may barrow my graden gloves....which my father gave when I first came here to this okiya...as a maid....much like yourself....Hara handed her the gloves....and smiled remembering what her father had said "A woman is always know by her hands".....pushing the sweet thought aside...she said..."After you are finished in the graden....you may hand these back to me....then see about cooking some dinner.....If you need any help with dressing in the kimono...or later with dinner let me know alright."

Yumi took the gloves and set them ontop of the gray kimono on her lap. She gave a huge smile.
"You were once a maid, too? Really? At this Okiya?" Yumi was shocked. She figured Hara had been born into being a Geisha or some such thing but a maid? Yumi's respect for Hara flew skyward, higher than any bird could fly. She was determined to do well and make Hara proud.
"Thankyou, Hara for the gloves. I will give them back, for certain, as soon as I am done gardening." Yumi stood up and gave a deep bow.

Hara lifted the girl's chin and gave a loving smile....then said "After you finish your work.... we shall sit and talk a while...if you like.(I Understand ^__^)

"I would like that very much, Hara-san, I really would. I shall get started on gardening right away!"
Yumi was truly excited. All her nervousness and scared thoughts vanished when she met Hara, the kindest Geisha there could ever be, she assured herself. She hoped the Okaa-san of the Okiya would be as kind.
She began thinking of the kind of questions she would later ask Hara. Maybe one ones like how she came to the Okiya and things along that line. She was so excited she couldn't wait to finish her chores.
