Graduated from University finally. Finished an album if y'all are bored. http://emilynewton.bandcamp.com/
Been in the process of moving to another state because I got a job doing music related things. Going alright, but still working on the main music career, and scoring for ads, films, whatever.
Yeah. crazy to see ya, Rikku. Definitely feels like seeing a ghost. Good luck on the job change.

I hear that. Apparently we're rediscovering who we are again in our 20s. My boss spent about 25 minutes today explaining the developmental psychology behind the 20-27 period.
Pretty interesting. He was all like, 'Mind you, it's just textbook, but...yeah'.

Pretty interesting indeed. Developmental Psychology is fascinating. What else did your boss say?

He said something to the effect of... Around that age range, we are trying to live out the dreams we may have consciously or subconsciously had between the ages of 12-14 in some form or another. It is also the time in our lives when we have the least expected of us, and have the least amount of energy to do it.
I had to think about that bit for awhile. I was thinking...wow, that's not true. I'm so motivated and have energy. Then I realized quite the opposite. Thinking how most of us are working that college job, or we're freshly out of college still working a job that doesn't require our brand new bachelor's degree. Or we've landed a job in our field but we're still at the bottom of that chain...but the deadlines that were college and the pressures that were from mom and dad or one of the two are gone to some extent. Yes, a good portion of the college end are paying off that college debt, or trying to, or...quite frankly not trying to.
All the stipulations aside, we're more excited about drinking with our friends than accomplishing anything. Or we're so ...mind boggled at why we're barely making rent, etc. I dunno. It can go on and on. But I think in general, we're just tired. All we need to do is put in our time at a job. We probably don't have kids yet, but we're looking for that lasting relationship. Maybe we're divorced. Maybe a lot of things.
But I think...in this list of maybes, we're figuring out who we want to be. Yeah, we did some of that in college. But in that time frame as college ends, we've got so many choices to make as to who we are, who we're gonna be, who we're gonna strive to be. Whatever.
At least. That's how I took what he said. Unmotivated because the rest of our lives span before us and nothing seems quite clear. Even where we want to live, etc. I dunno. I just feel like he was right, even though a lot of my life situation isn't textbook... It applies.

Oh wow, that does really apply. Your boss is pretty wise! Unmotivated to be real adults, I guess. At least that's definitely where I'm at. I'm a Junior in college and can't even imagine what life will be like when I graduate. Probably just a lot of chilling with friends and struggling to pay rent. Excitement XD

Yes...haha. That seems to be the best answer while fighting to pay the rent. Seriously though. Boston drained me dry of any + income I made because of the rent. Pinching pennies was...well.
Let's just say the fridge was stocked with essentials, and there was a jar of monies for 'extras'. Ramen was an understatement. hahaha.

Move to Philly. Places that aren't directly located around Universities are relatively cheap.

Has anyone heard of the band Bastille? Really cool sound/mixing. They do an awesome cover of Titanium.
