This is about what I can give you offhand.

Most mecha that I see seem to be like what I'd consider the gundams; they're built like giant armored men, often have slightly farfetched weapons/ideas going, so on and so forth. Usually extremely large, I'd put most of these type common mecha on height with smaller towers/skyscrapers/whatever you call the tall office buildings that aren't quite towers, at least. Huge fire power, generally have the 'one man army' thing going.

These generally worked in squads of about 8, they were more like two to three stories tall than massive other mechs, and resemble much more humanoid tanks than armored men (they look very mechanical and tend to be built thicker/sturdier). And pretty much all of there weapons seem very plausable, generally appropriately sized versions of weapons foot soldiers could use.

I just think that makes a much cooler scene than hurling eva's/gundams at each other, and makes more sense.

Alright, well, while that seems like a good idea, anything that small could get stepped on and die. Their tiny size makes any kind of sufficient weapon damage to a much larger mech next to impossible with the armor they'd have. While an interesting thought, it isn't plausible in the mech thread. sad Sorry.

That wouldn't be a standard build, but they're built to be customizable. Yeah, they could strap on some jet back-pack type things and do some such.

Still isn't very plausible. Not with the way you want to set them up. We're focussed on single mechs right now anyway. Squad tactics aren't what we're looking for right now. However, we DO have a team battle option for battles. If you wanted, you could make a mech within our size specifications, find a partner, and go up against another mech team or something.

I was just curious because I was playing that game again recently, and because I'm more into war stuff in general than most GIANT mecha.

If they're big enough to step on three story things, it just seems very blown out of proportion to me.
