Shagatsu stood silently in the corner, feeling his presence was no longer needed. He turned to go to the door but saw Hara enter. "Hello Hara..." He said with a smile.

Yumi nervously arrived at the Kazenotanpopo Okiya. She had no idea of what to expect. She had no idea what a 'Geisha' was and what they did. For all she knew, they were big monsters who ate up little maids who didn't work hard enough.
Yumi laughed out loud, No way that Geisha are monsters...I'm just going crazy, she thought.
Slowly and delicately, she walked to the door of the Okiya. Never had she felt completely alone. She didn't have anyone here beside her or anyone hoping for her success, just herself and all her lonliness.
Taking a deep breath, Yumi knocked on the door to the Okiya and silently waited for an answer.

"I am very well, thank you" Shagatsu said with a slight nod of his head. Her beautiful smiles made him feel at comfort in such a crowded room. "Forgive me for my presence in the Okiya, but I had wished to help Tora feel better. I know men are not allowed...." He said, his words trailing off as he blushed a little and looked down at his feet.

"And you have," she said to Shagatsu. Tora looked up at him and smiled, still holding the cold porcelain to her nose. "If you please, I need you to leave the room- I need to speak to Hara," she said, placing the flower deside her on the bed.

Hara looked at Shagatsu and gave a soft smile....She then gave a deep bow to everyone as they left....and then made her way to sit next to her sister...looking at her asked "What did you want to speak to me about Onee-Chan?"

"As you know, every maiko must pass a test to become a geisha," Tora began. "You've worked hard up to this point and I believe it's time for your test," she said quietly, looking into space.

"I need you to perform the dance that goes with this song..." Tora gave the name of the song and let Hara prepare. When Hara was ready, she began to sing. Her soft voice filled the room with a sad tune.

Hara stood in the middle of the room...and then snapped her fans open....she placed one foot out to the side.....while tilting her head to the left....then back to center....she then threw the left fan high in the air.... while still hold her right one she spun around and catched the fan with grace.... she then turned back to center and covered her face with both fans so that only her eyes showed....to finish the dance she then threw fans back up in the air...and spun gracefully on one foot and catch both fans....then came back to center...snapping her fans out her sides and gave a deep bow....to her sister.

Tora watched Hara dance closely while she sang. She ended the song and Hara ended her dance. Tora nodded as Hara bowed to her. "That is exactly right," she replied. "You are now a geisha," she said with a bow. She looked at her former little sister and gave a smile.

Tora smiled and bowed again. "I will go sign the ceremony papers now." she hugged Hara and stood from the bed. Tora left the okiya, signed the papers and returned. "Please, I must get some rest now," she said. "Hara-chan, I believe someone is at the door. Please show them around." Tora smiled weakly and crawled back into her futon. "Congratulations," she said to her former sister. "I am very proud of you." Tora hugged her and fell fast asleep.
