The longest distance is always the space between you and the people you love.

You moved to Texas, and live by a Lake. You are working so you can build up income to go to school, correct?

How is that going? Are you able to save sufficent funds for school?

Most of my friends who have tried to do that never got the appropriate type of work, or were unwilling to work numerous jobs and only could manage to bring themselves to subsitance living.

It would be unfortunate if that happens to you.

I'm lucky enough to have a family member who gave me a very good job with a good paycheck. And since I'm living at home and I currently don't have a car payment, yes I should have enough by the time I go to school to completely pay for my first year. I'm not living on campus so that will decrease the bill and my parents are willing to help me out with what I need. It should be fine, at least I hope so.

I think you should be, though I can't really offer any expertise on american schooling.

Which area of study are you heading towards?

Writing. Though I haven't decided if I'm going to major in English, Writing or Journalism.

They are all tough from what I have seen here.

I would personally go with English because I enjoy the liturature they use.

I am a sucker for Beowulf.

Then again, that might also be because I am inclined towards History anyway.

I imagine your goal is to be a writer.

As private or invading as this question might be, what is it you wish to write?

I'd love to write romance and get paid for it. That would be my dream. But I wouldn't have a problem writing for a magazine or a newspaper as long as it was one that I liked. None of that national enquirer or tabloid stuff.

I rather like Shakespeare.

Shakespear is at the root of all modern writing. He wrote the archetypes for all modern writing.

Tabloid writing is taboo. Television has tought me that tabloid writers are not respected, so your decision to avoid that type of work is understandable.

Similar to the hatred actors have of Soap Opras.

Yes nad I would just hate myself if I spent my life writing lies and stupid stories. What kind of writer would willingly do that? Not one who respects their craft or themselves.

It might be fun, which is why some people do it.

Perhaps Miss Stars, you are only seeing one side of the Tabloid. Tabloids offer people who live rather mundane lives to experience the extraordinary, an outlit for their otherwise crushed sense of imagination. Perhaps in seeking these lies they create truth and entertain their most basic sense of creativity.

You and I do not need such things, we have our own ability to generate enjoyment within the dreary, but what about people who can't?

Is it not respectable to bring life to otherwise dead people?

Then again, it does seem to be rather degrading to be treating fiction as fact.

But, I have always wished for Griffon/Gryphons to exist. It would be nice if they did.

They could eat my homework...

Hmm...

You know I suppose you're right. For example, Stacy's grandmother gets the National Enquirer adn it's one of the highlights of her life. Stacy reads it for the trivia and the jokes and I can see how writing something that's completely fantastic could be fun. But it's not something I really want to do. It's truly not fair for me to look down on tabloid writers though and I thank you Az, for pointing that out to me. I never believed I was a snob. Perhaps, I am. I know my particular choice of writing isn't always viewed as the greatest so maybe I should sympathize more. Hmm, food for thought.

Point of view always determines everything.

Sorry Miss Stars, I must be going now. I have a class soon and must make haste in order to arrive on time.

Perhaps I shall see you later.

^^

Have a nice day.

That's fine Az. I understand and perhaps. I should be here most of it. And thank you.
