East Millcreek has a lot of them, but I wanted the Chronicles to start with as they seem to introduce you to all of the characters in the other books. They also didn't appear to have all the titles in any of the subseries. Checking the computer, they didn't have copies of the Chronicles at all beyond the one book I've already read--so they weren't simply checked out. Doesn't the computer show the entire library system when it displays the specific title?
So far, I've had the luck of being able to find basically anything I was looking for at that location. I'm right in between branches, so I might check the other location before attempting to have a copy sent over.
As I said, I'll flip through Ella Enchanted and see if it seems like something that would interest me. I at first shunned the HP books due to their popularity, but came to love them when someone shoved a copy at me. It's worth a look, at the very least. The movie was fairly enjoyable, and in most cases the books films are based on are far better.
I would reread all of the HP books, but I have a tendency to not be able to stop with those. I could probably tackle them all in about a week, not to mention I sort of want to branch out and read a few things I haven't yet.
Thank you for the suggestions, though, Sporky and Jack. blaugh
Has anyone read Memoirs of a Geisha?

You're welcome Yokiar. 3nodding And I haven't read that book..
I also got a chance to read some of the Stargate novels, but they are hardly even close to any of the shows.. still, the couple I read were good reads.
I remember the first reason I had for reading HP.. the thought of Platform 9 3/4 made me curious, and so I read. Kinda silly eh? lol

All is well in the world-- I have the full set of the Chronicles, as someone I know happened to have a copy and was easily commanded to walk inside and fetch the book for me. 4laugh heart
I read one Stargate novel that I swear was based directly on the movie. It was decent, though that's a rare case where I think the show was better than the book. Probably because of how very close the two were, and the fact I really, really liked the mechanized masks at the time. *shrug*
Actually, that's a pretty good reason to read a book. I've literally grabbed something with an interesting title or cover before (and most of the time have been pleasantly surprised, luckily).
I'd still appreciate any other suggestions if people have them. I read quickly enough Ill probably be to the library jonesing for another book next week. sweatdrop

Yokiar, dear, I have plenty of books down at my house. I'd be more than happy to give you some. Yes, I don't have full sets of just about any of the Weis and Hickman books for the Dragonlance series, but a lot of those books sort of act on their own. For example, the story of the Minotaurs is part of the Lost Histories set, but it can act alone.

Hm...a slightly longer read might be A College of Magics. It's one of the few books I own that I've reread more than twice.

The question is, who will get the first post on page 50 of this thread?

*does the really, really bored dance*
Page 50 is anybody's guess, but if we're looking at like...20, I have an odd tendency to pop in and say something and end up on a new page.
At least lately.
Anyway.

Isn't it called the macarena or something?

Not the macarena.
If I started dancing that, the four riders of the apocalypse wouldn't be far behind. (Or, alternatively, someone bribed me either with copious amounts of money or equally ridiculous amounts of caffeine.)
