"Maddy...don't you think that fire will eventually fill the room with CO2 and then we'd die?" Ginji sighed. "Oh, nevermind...we have air filters..." he said as he turns the switch to activate the air filter.

"Well I could always just recall Charmander." She switches off the air conditioning. "I don't think there's anything else I can do here..."

MISSION- Positive Reaction
Any Team Aqua member is asked to catch a Plusle

Pokemon:
Plusle

Funds upon completion: 500
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Excited about my 1st mission I ran up to the mission board. Everyone and their brother were checking for updates. I pushed my way through the crowd and looked for level 1 missions. Since I was a beginner that was the recommendation I had gotten from my friend earlier today. Positive reaction was my first mission and it was an easy one.

After gathering what few things I needed (pokeballs and my pack) I headed toward slateport city. Not the best looking city but that was ok. I wouldn't be there long. As I walked north through the city towards the road I could see the bridge for the cycling road ahead. I was getting closer. I pulled my totodile out of the pokeball. He jumped out and looked up at me with a smile. I walked into the tall grass next to the entrance to the bike path and automatically a Electrike popped out.

It was totodile versus electrike. It would be a good battle. I commanded an immediate tackle attack on the electrike but it was too late. It already shot a spark attack at totodile. He jumped out of the way fortunately. It was a close dodge. He bounced into the air and flipped behind the electrike surprising it and shot a water gun attack at its back. It flew into a rock but wouldn’t give up. It launched another spark at totodile and hit him dead on. It took away a good amount of energy but totdile was still up and ready to go. He launched another water gun at electrike and followed it with a tackle attack. The burst of water missed the electrike but the tackle was dead on leaving only a small bit of energy left in the opposing electrike. One more quick tackle attack and electrike would be out for the count. Totodile was on it. He delivered a devastating final tackle attack and electrike was done.

After the battle I needed to heal my totodile so I checked my pokenav for the nearest city. I was closest to slateport so I decided I would return to that dreaded city one more time. I took out the pokeball that usually held totodile and returned him before any more harm was done. I hopped on my bike and took off as fast as I could. Unfortunately the city was like a maze. So many skyscrapers and alleyways and my pokenav wasn’t helping. I ended up at the docks in the same spot twice before finally finding the pokemon center. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, I finally got my pokemon back and headed out the door. I stopped and watched three very inexperienced trainer battles along the way back to the road and stopped to help. One person was expecting a young corphish to use crab hammer before it was ready and I had to explain to him that you have to give the pokemon time to learn the move better. A sailor was offering to battle on the side of the road so I accepted. He offered me a pokemon if I won but I declined that offer. I told him I would only battle him for fun.

He sent out a machop and I (of course) sent out my totodile. He used focus energy followed by a low kick and tried to trip totodile but he jumped and shot a burst of water in machop’s face. It knocked the machop back a bit but he was fine. I figured I would go easy on him since he seemed inexperienced. He continued to attack me with low kicks and karate chops but totodile dodged them all. He would sometimes shoot out bursts of water just to mess with machop but when he attempted to use a seismic toss on totodile I knew he was better than what I had expected. Totodile tackled machop to the ground but machop kicked him off and used seismic toss one more time and drove totodile into the ground. It was starting to become a good battle. Totodile used tackle continuously but it wasn’t working that well. Machop used seismic toss and plowed totodile into the ground again. Totodile used water gun and blasted him off. Then used a devastating tackle to finish him off. After leaving the sailor devastated I continued on my way. Totodile stayed by my side the whole time and just smiled at me as we walked. I came to the road and automaticly a plusle popped out of the grass.

I whipped out my Baltoy as soon as I felt he wanted to battle. Totodile attacked first with a vicious bite attack but the plusle dodged and came back with a quick attack knocking totodile away. He then used a spark attack and sent it straight at totodile but missed. Totodile took this opportunity to get up and charged full blast at the plusle with a tackle of his own. Contact was made but not a lot of damage was given. Totodile used water gun and blasted plusle in the face but plusle used spark and turned the water into an electric current blasting right back at totodile. It sent him flying back and he hit a tree. At this point Baltoy was ready to fight so I sent him in. With a quick take down attack plusle was almost ready to give in. A confusion attack from Baltoy rendered plusle helpless and I took my chance. "Pokeball go!" I threw a pokeball and it absorbed plusle in a blast of red light. The next few seconds were devastatingly nerve racking. The pokeball shook. Once. Twice. Three times. Then stopped. Plusle was caught.

"I guess we wait for a rescue team..." Ginji sighs, wondering why Brian exploded. "How long do you think we can keep this up?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 25, 2008 11:41 am

"I didn't mess around with the wires for so long just to sit here and wait... Check and see if we got enough power to fly us out of here. Otherwise I'll just switch all the wires back..." She just fell silent suddenly and stared out into the nothingness, thinking.

well now that im back here and no one else is... i might as well work on my mission... *rushes up to my room to get back to writing with the coffee pot in hand that i had now befriended*

* 20 minutes later i come rushing down the stairs with a revamped mission in hand then places it back on the mission board*

I hope its better i fixed the mentioned error parts i think...

MISSION- Shadows of the Coming Storm
Another Evil Gym Leader! And at Dewford Island! Go and defeat the leader and the goons!
(You will face 4 goons and the Leader)

Pokemon:
Machop
Meditite
Makutia

Funds upon completion:
1000

Item: Shadow Knuckle Badge

...
Right after Hariyama put its guard down after missing its attack Tropius shot its whole bodyweight down at Hariyama hitting it from behind and knocking it straight on its stomach pinning it face down on the ground leaving it incapable of moving while Tropius charged a Solarbeam attack....

Well, you fixed up the major inconsistency, so I don't have any reason not to pass this mission. But before I do, let me call your attention to the sentence I pulled out. That, sir, is a run-on sentence. You have others throughout your report, but this one caught my eye the most. You can easily make two or three seperate sentences from this one and convey the same meaning, plus they'll be easier to follow!

Another thing I should've mentioned in my previous grade, but somehow didn't: the mechanics of Bide have changed. Before, it was speed-based as you wrote it. The faster pokemon could attack before Bide began saving energy. However in fourth-gen, Bide became a first-strike move in the same category as Quick Attack. A fast pokemon can Quick Attack ahead of Bide, but a slow pokemon's Quick Attack will come AFTER Bide! eek

I think that's all I need to say. You pass, you get P$1000 and Meditite.
But please keep things like sentence structure in mind as you do the next mission.

Well, you're new so I'd like to be lenient on your first mission, but I'm afraid there's just not enough here to pass. Brian often says missions should be at least 2 pages in Word. For a mission like this though, I'd be happy to see one to 1-1/2 pages.

The battle you did was good, yet also no good. You narrate well and it was an entertaining match. Unfortunately some of the moves you used can't be learned by those pokemon! None of the three can use Headbutt or Magnitude. Tackles, Takedowns, Quick Attacks, and Mud Slaps could work in their place.

If you expanded on the storyline and double checked the pokemon's available moves you will probably pass next time. Oh, and just so there's no misunderstanding, you can edit a failed mission and submit it again as often as you need to.

"Hewo, the coffee pot is talking to me, it found the rest of the lost peoples, Brian apparently asplodededed tooooo." *officially going insane without human contact*

*strokes coffee pot on the lid*

"good boy"

*Returns to HQ, grades a couple missions, then goes to get some coffee*
Huh? Where's the coffee maker?

*Finds KW clutching it and muttering to himself*
Um... you okay?

*Getting no response, I instead try a different tactic. I program my TADS to the coffee maker's wireless frequency and send a message*
"Get a grip! There's a huge cloud of ... something out there. Brian, Ginji, Maddy, and Hunter flew in and didn't come out. At least some of them are still alive and trying to contact us. But the cloud is distorting the signal somehow. I got Ginji's SOS on my Arwing's Smart Bomb targeting computer. My first rescue attempt ended with me spending a week in the cloud only to emerge the day after I went in, and finding nothing but green. GET A GRIP!"

I hope KW notices that.
*Leaves to keep an eye on the cloud again*

Ginji turns the key again. The engine turns over a few times. The dashboard lights up and the red lights blink multiple times. Ginji hits the gas and the left thruster explodes, leaving a hole in the side of the ship. The green ooze starts to leak in. "Quick! We need duct tape to fix the hole and block the radioactivity!" He cries to Maddy.

(a few seconds later)
*looks at mission board*
"oo my mission was regraded, yay,*stops crying forgetting completely about the coffee pot*
*sits down and reads for a minute* " well then this calls for another mission, but im really bored with the shadow gyms... they are just getting annoying. maybe i could take a break *sits down with a stack of undone missions*".

As I'm circling the area above the green cloud, a thought suddenly creeps into my head. "Huh... I wonder if I should've signed the message I sent to KW's coffee pot."

Pushing that idea aside, I continue going over the sensor data from the last few hours. And I notice something. Right around a quarter past three, there's a slight drop in the goo's energy signature. There was also a very subtle ripple in the cloud's geometry, almost as though something exploded.

"Hey, I wonder if a larger explosion could disrupt the cloud enough to find the Kyogre Jets? Ah, $#%+! What a time to have run out of Smart Bombs!"

*Starts transmitting a message on all available Aqua frequencies, including those of any appliance with wireless features*
"This is Thard of Team Aqua. I am currently circling the area where Brian and the others disappeared. Earlier today my Arwing's sensors detected evidence of a small explosion at the same time the energy output from the cloud dropped. I think if we can generate a larger explosion, we might disrupt the cloud enough to rescue our comrades. My Arwing, however, is out of Smart Bombs. If anyone has any ideas please contact me."
*Ends the message with the coordinates of the cloud*

Deryx's TADS went off. He took it out and read the message from Thard. Deryx thought for a second, trying to come up with something that could help. Then he remembered something. He ran outside HQ and found what he was looking for. Some containers of engine fuel were there. Deryx grabbed them then let out Sturn. He made sure he had Nissy with him then sent a quick message to Thard.

message:
~ I have an idea that might work. I am heading your way. Send me your coordinates of where you are around the cloud.
~Deryx

Deryx put his TADS away then jumped on Sturn, after tightening the 5 canisters of engine fuel on, then took off towards the green cloud.

"As much as I like causing explosions, now is just not the time!!!" Wondering if she was going to end up paying for all this later on, Maddy just grabbed Prinplup's pokeball and summoned the pokemon, commanding it to use Ice Beam. Prinplup nodded and shot the jet of ice at the hole, sealing it up with a hopefully solid wall of ice.

"I don't think that'll hold for long." Ginji sighed as he started covering th ice in a very solid wall of duct tape. "Crisis adverted, for now at least." As he finished his TADS rings out with a new message.

"0a 0a 54 68 69 73 20 69 73 20 54 68 61 72 64 20 6f 66 20 54 65 61 6d 20 41 71 75 61 2e 20 49 20 61 6d 20 63 75 72 72 65 6e 74 6c 79 20 63 69 72 63 6c 69 6e 67 20 74 68 65 20 61 72 65 61 20 77 68 65 72 65 20 42 72 69 61 6e 20 61 6e 64 20 74 68 65 20 6f 74 68 65 72 73 20 64 69 73 61 70 70 65 61 72 65 64 2e 20 45 61 72 6c 69 65 72 20 74 6f 64 61 79 20 6d 79 20 41 72 77 69 6e 67 27 73 20 73 65 6e 73 6f 72 73 20 64 65 74 65 63 74 65 64 20 65 76 69 64 65 6e 63 65 20 6f 66 20 61 20 73 6d 61 6c 6c 20 65 78 70 6c 6f 73 69 6f 6e 20 61 74 20 74 68 65 20 73 61 6d 65 20 74 69 6d 65 20 74 68 65 20 65 6e 65 72 67 79 20 6f 75 74 70 75 74 20 66 72 6f 6d 20 74 68 65 20 63 6c 6f 75 64 20 64 72 6f 70 70 65 64 2e 20 49 20 74 68 69 6e 6b 20 69 66 20 77 65 20 63 61 6e 20 67 65 6e 65 72 61 74 65 20 61 20 6c 61 72 67 65 72 20 65 78 70 6c 6f 73 69 6f 6e 2c 20 77 65 20 6d 69 67 68 74 20 64 69 73 72 75 70 74 20 74 68 65 20 63 6c 6f 75 64 20 65 6e 6f 75 67 68 20 74 6f 20 72 65 73 63 75 65 20 6f 75 72 20 63 6f 6d 72 61 64 65 73 2e 20 4d 79 20 41 72 77 69 6e 67 2c 20 68 6f 77 65 76 65 72 2c 20 69 73 20 6f 75 74 20 6f 66 20 53 6d 61 72 74 20 42 6f 6d 62 73 2e 20 49 66 20 61 6e 79 6f 6e 65 20 68 61 73 20 61 6e 79 20 69 64 65 61 73 20 70 6c 65 61 73 65 20 63 6f 6e 74 61 63 74 20 6d 65 2e"

"...No..." Ginji looked at the message in shock. Since it was longer it was doubtful that it was from their last contact. His best guess was that it'd be from Thard or Hunter. "That's definitely Hex code. But I have no clue how to read it..."
