Yes but the ninja trains by killing every beast known to man. Plus it's so hard to kill a ninja. I mean you have to kidnap Chris Rock, place the microwave just right, etc.

Pirates have ships with cannons.
And they still exist.
Unlike Ninjas who have just become pop culture icons.

Ninjas exsist, you just dont see them because they're ninjas.

How so?

Dark Brotherhood = Ninjas ( sorta )

One of the early Dark Brotherhood quests has you go sneak aboard a pirate ship, kill the captain, and sneak out.

But, on a more realistic scene:

What can a ninja do out at sea against a pirate vessel armed to the teeth and raining Hell at the ninja's vessel? Sink, that's what.

But in all seriousness...
