Exxos Inedible_Animals Goodness that's an in-depth critique. I'm over here with, "I like this" @_@ I've always wanted to be that level of a fan of something, a world or a series, or a game. I'm just not sure I have it in me. I'm jealous of folks who are fans enough of a world to notic differences or have that higher level of passion. I def love things, but I've never been pulled deep enough in to learn details of the world. o.o When you were talking about the alien differences I was hella impressed and jelly. o.o I am glad my asperger's fueled nerd rant was well-received. But yeah, when it comes to Quarren and Verpine, I am ridiculously overboard. When you play them in RPGs for over 30 years, you get really invested, you take every bit of biology and worldbuilding seriously because it makes the RPG story that much richer. Where someone not serious might glaze over everything, I get into details like how they are sensitive to cold, have organs to avoid getting the bends, or would have certain sounds in their languages due to physiology and play those up. Then being a gamemaster in any setting, I always have to try to be beyond the knowledge base of my players. They ask something, do something, I have to know the in-world elements to make it work. Sometimes it is just rote memorization, other times it is a lot of inference. I think it is why when I made the major race for my Sovath setting, I gave them four arms... I need more arms. xd When the better two thirds started his Curse of Strahd campaign, I ended up reading all of the ravenloft books from the 2nd edition through 5th edition, just so I could give him support. And I dug up so many odd tidbits to infodump on him, he has rolled it over into a new campaign post-Strahd where Illithids are invading Waterdeep as space aliens — there is a Ravenloft adventure about Illithids basically gaining control of areas due to the power vacuum of Strahd's death, which in turn leads to a weird spelljammer crossover where they invade from beyond the stars having gained such a massive foothold. I love that level of dedication and passion. I'm trying to find the equivalent of that in myself. *nods nods* Perhaps I should try some world building, hmmm.

Yenzer777123 Inedible_Animals Exxos Yenzer777123 Exxos I just started Mandalorian S2E3 and I am already somewhat raging. They completely mutilated the Quarren. Wrong hands, wrong structure to the heads, missing siphons, missing gas bladders... They even screwed up the eyes and mouths. They have the original costume from ROTJ! They did it right in Rogue One! What the?! *Makes a pained whinging noise.* (This is when I mention I have been playing Quarren and Verpine in Star Wars RPGs since 1987 and am fanatical about consistency on them... sweatdrop ) Okay, at least their mrorngkki are moving somewhat in relation to their emotional state... That's not a fifth tentacle! That's the lower lip! I have been wanting to get into the Mandalorian but I'm a little lazy. Maybe after I finish the Crown. All my friends do stream parties and I'm missing out! It definitely has its ups and downs. I would say it is best watched as a season. Going on the first season, it seems to be four episodes that they put the effort in, three that are just low effort but pass, and one that they shoehorn all the bad into. If you watch it all at once, it is overall seven good to great episodes that balance with each other with this singular, skippable low spot (the prison ship episode, which is a hair below a 1998 handicam fanfilm like they needed to suffocate an episode to spread the funding to the other seven). Goodness that's an in-depth critique. I'm over here with, "I like this" @_@ I've always wanted to be that level of a fan of something, a world or a series, or a game. May not necessarily be pop culture or nerd culture, maybe? sweatdrop Heh, I appreciate you, I'm sure I'm knowledge in some things. But, I don't feel I have anything I'm even half as passionate about as most seem to be about their main interest. I'll hopefully find it eventually, but nothing yet. ^-^"

Sometimes these interests are a quantity over focus aspect. You seem to appreciate video games as an overarching format and artform at such a massive scale. Wherein I have these hundreds of tiny focus spots, you're spread across an entire genre of media. What you see as half-passionate it probably a lot more than most of us invest just spread over such a large topic as to appear stretched thin. If that makes sense... It does so in my head... But bing cherry tuna sammiches make sense in my head, so I am not always a viable brainform. xd

I rely on my friends for little windows into the multiverse of marvel or dc. They have a heavy passion for those. I know, I like spider gwen? And probably a few random weird facts about the universes. ^-^ I'll have to take a look at the crown, I tend to lean more towards scifi or mindbenders though. ^-^ My interests include a wide variety of games, pretty much any game I can get ahold of. o.o Indie comics like I said. Currently obsessing over apex legends, mostly for the lore, I really wanna do a cosplay of Wattson. I haven't quite got that passion drive to dive that deep right now though @_@

I haven't been reading a lot of indie comics. I did read a bit of the Boys and Persepolis recently (particularly since I watched their TV show and movie, respectively.) Hahaha! When it comes to games I've been playing a lot of Smash Bros, Valorant and League lately. I just got Hades for the Switch and that has been pretty addicting! Lots of kinda common knowledge lore you may be into since its all about the Greek pantheon.

Garth Ennis' seems to thrive on edge I guess (Crossed, Preacher). Honestly, the TV show took the source material and, in my opinion, made it like 10x better! I really like how they changed some of the character relations. It really ties in with the themes that they explore whilst still retaining some of the edge from the comics...albeit more palatable. Haha! Also, I recently showed my partner my gameplay of Hades and she'd agree with the hot characters part. Hahaha!

Yenzer777123 How about you guys what are you into? Exxos? Inedible? Haha Science fiction and fantasy in general; movies, books, comics, manga. Star Trek and Star Wars are just really dominant, but not all-encompassing. Writing, drafting, modelmaking, propmaking, conlanging, and roleplaying games are my main interests. When it comes to video games, I am somewhat left in the dust because I prefer a very specific sort of story-driven turn-based RPG that seems to have mostly died out these days.
