*slides back in for a it*
Wow! As usual I've let too much time pass before checking in. Still alive and not all burned up here in the Pacific NW. My poor son had to evacuate the fires and his apt ended up burnt to the ground! (he was in Talent, OR). Luckily he's fine and as a college student, hadn't accumulated much stuff yet. Most of what he and his girlfriend had fit into their cars.
*Waves at Inedible* Hi! smile so nice to see someone else in here. I'm glad Exxos had someone to talk to after I so rudely abandoned him once again.

Inedible_Animals Speaking of microtransaction, Gaia just released an item called sucking stuffers a few months to early... I don't think they foresee themselves lasting into the holiday season. >.> Maybe, or it might be their twisted view of things. Or just that the entire world is now on christmas in july level jumping the gun.

Yeah, Inedible has kept me contained to the AGA so I did not go off into the wilds and start culling the herds in the "on-brand chatterbox."

Things are crazy out there, do try to stay safe and hydrated. o.o *waves with both arms* Hey hey ^-^ Yesh, we've been up to shinanigans and such. Glad to finally meet the mystery member. o/ No worries, we all pop in and out from time to time. Welcome back to the lovely off brand CB! ^-^

We have a new member somewhere around here lol - I explained the guild's current situation and they still were interested in coming in and chatting with us so that's cool. smile
So yeah about the fires, we had about a full week just in our area (other places have been much worse) where the air quality was hazardous! It was just so oppressive and claustrophobic. The nearest big fire to us was only a 10 min drive but we luckily were never in an active evacuation zone.
My son was able to get a dorm suite back at the university since his apt is gone. It's actually kind of nice since they have their own kitchen and living area and it's just the same people that were living together before so they are already in their "quarantine bubble." He decided to go back because even though most of the classes are remote they are still opening the labs on a limited basis. He's doing research for his professor that will hopefully help get him into a good graduate program.

I'm sure it's super stressful bring that close, to things. My partner and I were supposed to have moved to that area, but the final quarter of 2019 really punched us in the face. So we spent our moving budget on other stuff. Guess we avoided that stress. I think I would have preferred having to worry about fire. o.o Glad he could get a place so quick, and keep his quarantine bubble intact. College in present day is something else. o.o Also, yess, get that graduate program like a champ! o/ What field is he heading into? ^-^

Are you still planning to move at some point? My son is studying microbiology! He's still not completely sure what area exactly but right now he's very interested in microbial pathogenesis. Exxos Switched to an avatar just of myself again. sweatdrop I love that one! I find the huge stack of books very comforting. lol

Camwen He's still not completely sure what area exactly but right now he's very interested in microbial pathogenesis. That's a good field these days that we need more people in. Especially as zoonotic epidemiology and state biolab negligence are the theme in disease for this century. Camwen I love that one! I find the huge stack of books very comforting. lol It's my emotional support library. XD
