The ability to find the good in a bad situation is a valuable tool in rectifying said situation. And if you can't find a solution then there is always alcohol. (Note: In no way do I endorse using liquor to solve a situation, many times it will make you situation worse..... after you sober up)

Yes but looking negatively help you find the flaws in plans. With that knowledge you can go and fix said problem.
