I finally got the refund for that defective hard drive and they shaved $40 off for restocking. WTF? It's supposed to be $15! And only then if it is not defective! scream

I contacted my bank, pointed them to the pages detailing the costs, restocking, et cetera. Contested the additional $25. They said they would open a case file and so on... I should just be glad I got ANY money back.

I'm loving the outfit swap everytime I pop back in here! ^-^

I'm sure you're somewhat glad you got some money back, but it's always a bit of a paper cut when they try to weasel you out of the full amount. It's especially frustrating when money is tight. -.-

I had a bank so that to me. I've been using a credit union ever since. *confetti*

I admit, I long for a simpler time when I was not forced to buy things on the internet and I could get everything I needed locally almost. I remember back before 2000, I'd mail order or phone order something maybe once per year, otherwise there were just low cost stores I could physically go to. Now I can't get almost anything locally. I can't go into a bookstore and find titles I want to read, I can't go into a hobby shop and find the things I need or afford anything even if they had it, I can't go to an electronics store and get the things I need. Hell, I have a hard time getting foods I want and having them uncontaminated when I do find them — something that is worse with the pandemic as now everything is stored with and touched by soaps and sanitizers so now you can't buy a loaf of bread without it tasting like a friggin' laundry aisle.

And then back then I did not need a bank at all, I could just use cash. I hate banks and credit unions. Not just because it is against my faith to use them and i am being forced by society to bend to that, I just hate the concept of a business based on money manipulation.

oh cute! We're both rocking red, that's fun! ^-^

Do you have an extra sensitive pallet? I once knew someone who would only eat the middle tortillas in a pack because the outer ones had touched the plastic and so they could taste it in the flavor. It was rather interesting to me, tough to imagine.

I do miss going to shops, I love shopping and it's weird to not be able to experience that properly. I look forward to being able to go into comic shops and browse again. *looks off dreamily*

Bleh, yeah if there was a way to use neither banks nor credit unions I would. But my credit union has been good to me so far. Keywords being so far, I'm sure...

Now you know two people who would only eat the middle tortillas in a pack because the outer ones had touched the plastic and so they could taste it. Though when I was younger, I did not have that problem. Then again, we're now living in a society that thinks adding cups of stink granules to laundry so it can reek for six weeks is a good idea — which historically coincides with societal collapses no less, look that up, perfume surges before the fall of Rome, the Great Depression, and the French Revolution are some of the really interesting ones. What was I ranting? Right! Stink granules. They are storing food in the warehouses next to things designed to be hyper-perfumed and that is something they did not have as much even just a decade ago — both in the fewer types of perfumed products and that it was common to not store them immediately interspersed in 120ºF warehouses.

The last comic shop I was able to go to ridiculed me when they moved and did not update most of the clientele. So when I re-found them, they treated me like an idiot so I never went back. That was the last local shop I had. After Borders closed, B&N and Amazon basically divided and conquered, in the process demolishing a lot of the small publishers I got my books from. If B&N or Amazon do not feel your tastes in books is profitable enough, you might well be SOL these days.

Yeah, and I get ridiculed for not wanting to. It's hard dealing with that. Especially because so many of the people ridiculing have decades of bad experiences with banks and credit unions and such. Why would the concept of not having to deal with something that has made things worse for you personally be something to ridicule for? It's on par with if everyone had to have an eye poked out for the only reason is to make the negatives of having one eye pay off for the eye pokers, you mention that you really don't like this eye poking scheme, and people think you're broken.

On a side note, I tried a snow mod in minecraft. Got it working. Then removed it... And I did not know every non-standard block touched by that snow would be deleted without the mod. So I turned a massive tower I built for my nephew into swiss cheese. I'd be more upset if it was not so ridiculous.

The curious side of me finds that so fasinating! That and afantasia mysteries of the universe. o.o They definitely need to reduce the sent thing it can be nauseating. The approaching collapse of society honestly doesn't sound unlikely at this pont really. .-.

Last comic shop I went to was in Colorado when I lived there, and it was pretty nice ^-^ I'm sorry you had that experience. People suck. @_@ corporate wastelands suck too. More contribution to the collapse.

Ugh, that's crazy, folks should be able to choose not to use banking. Would love some alternatives. I've worked at a few places where they tried to refuse to pay me unless it was via direct deposit.

Oh noo, and there wasn't a back up save? @_@ Losing progress in building games definitely makes me wanna cry. In space engineers one of my ship malfunctioned, and was sent hurdling off into space never to be seen again. I would have cried if it weren't such a rediculous and movie way for it to be lost. Our struggle to rescue it was cinamatic really. xD

Yeah, I did not back it up because I was thinking there was no way it could be destructive. It's like when you load a double slab mod, basic minecraft does not support placing it, but supports the hierarchy for double slabs, so when you remove the mod it stays. Well, apparently this snow mod alters the slabs and stairs and so on to be an alternate form. Nothing in the mod or the code of the mod would imply that. Anyway, my nephew was pissed and I spent five hours replacing the pieces, checking back and forth between vanilla minecraft, forge, and fabric until I got a clear report of no error blocks and everything was repaired.

But yeah, sometimes when things in a game go tits akimbo, you can't help but laugh. I guess that's the difference between a game and a serious work... I should probably sprinkle a little bit of that not giving a @#$% into my serious works, I'd probably be happier.

Yeah, I love the idea of mods, but they also intimidate me. I should probably take my serious work more seriously honestly. .-.

I have a love/hate with mods. I know I should stick to utility mods like worldedit, WCUI, and such only. But then I see snow or some awesome world gen and I make a mess. And then I see CIT stuff and that's just... *whinges theatrically* I mean look at this black magic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmH6TWSYoio this is all being done with invisible item frames, an anvil, and a way too complicated resource pack. Not mods, just tricking optifine and vanilla minecraft to make a massive, positionable model stick out of an item frame.

Also, tried to match colors. Finding soft blues is tricky.

Hilarious thing is if I tried it, everyone else would just see item frames everywhere because they did not have the resource pack too.

I default to searches for: autumn, fall, warm, pumpkin, and halloween for oranges past the obvious orange search.
