There's not a specific difference it depends on the situation. Like how SSJ Goku and Freeza fought for 5 minutes but it spread out over a bunch of episodes. You can go off to train somewhere else. It just doesn't make sense for you to be back in such a short time.

Just as an aside, in-game time passes more or less at your discretion, barring group circumstances. I.e. you can;t say five thousand years passed to make your opponent die of old age. But if you're flying solo, go for it.
Or conversely, I could tie up the Time Space Chamber for months of real world time, by just posting a few days of in-chamber time each day. And that is the reason why multiple people can use it at the same time, as if we had five or six of them. Because I'm just contrary enough to do that.
