I shunned Panic! at first because they were really popular and usually really popular = mind-numbing, but they're surprisingly good. And they're how I found the Dolls and Fall Out Boy and The Academy Is and everything else I like.

Not really
They've been described as dance-punk, and a lot of people say "cabaret," but I think that's just because of the lyrics to But It's Better If You Do
You should look up their songs on Youtube; probably all of them have been used in at least one AMV if there's no music video

I believe that even though everything is logically pointless, one should still try to be a good person
That has different meanings for different people, but to me that means caring about the environment and animals; not doing heavy drugs, smoking, drinking too much, or being a slut; and being nice to people who deserve it
And also I believe in living life fully, trying to make it less pointless in a non-logical way by affecting others positively, because if the meaning of life is to change someone else's life for the better while enjoying one's own life, then nothing is pointless
Maybe I'm just naive and overly optimistic

Maybe naive and overly optimistic is the best way to achieve your ideals, even if the "not being a slut" part is in with the part about you being naive. >_>
But human brains hold tons of contradictions anyway, and we get on just fine without being totally insane.
The only thing I can't say I agree with completely is caring about the environment, because environmentalism is a well-meaning but crappy religion.

Being optimistic is the way to achieve MY ideals : ) Because if I wasn't, I'd probably be depressed, and that wouldn't make me happy, and one of my ideals is to stay happy as much as possible
I'm REALLY contradictive : P
I think caring about the environment to a reasonable degree is good, but people can take it too far. Buying hybrid cars and recycling are reasonable. Chaining oneself to trees in protest and throwing buckets of blood at people (yes, PETA has done this) are too far.

There's an ignorant dark side to recycling, though. When people recycle paper, it means the paper companies don't have to make as much and have less incentive to replant all the trees they cut down. People recycle paper, forests get smaller.
There's another good example. Environmentalists protest the use of possibly carcinogenic pesticide on fruits and vegetables. As a result, the price of fruits and vegetables goes up, people buy (and therefore eat) less, thus causing more cancer.
