Ryushi frowned slightly at her addressing him as Ryu, "Don't call me 'Ryu,'" he said, though not aggressively. It was simply a statement. "And we're leaving by the fastest means possible. It beats swimming out there."
"Hey, sir!" Ryu called out to the man's back. The barge driver turned around leisurely and nodded to Ryu.
"I suppose you need another ride away, Ryu?" he said in a knowing voice. "You know they won't be happy about you running away for a few days randomly like this... And you're wearing your robes this time."
Ryushi's lips tautened at him calling him 'Ryu' as well. "No, this time I've been given an order, actually. You have room for one more besides me, right?"
The man glanced at the girl, studying her face for a few seconds, before shrugging. "Sure, sure, get up on aboard."
Ryushi nodded, before stepping up and sitting down next to a bale of hay. He didn't touch it though. It wouldn't be too good for the robes if he did.

Iro blinked at Ryu blankly, then climbed on board as well, perching herself on the hay and giving Ryu and disgruntled look that conveyed ((sp?)) that she knew he felt himself to good for the hay. "Why exactly," she asked him, after makeing herself semi-comfortable, "do you not want me to call you 'Ryu'? You call me 'Iro'. Not to mention that 'Ryu' is your given name."

"Heave, ho," grunted the raft driver to himself, as soon as the last crates were sent off. "Try to stay on the raft, kiddos..." Saying this, he untied a know and
"Simple enough. I gave you my last name, you gave me a shortened name," he said bluntly, looking moodily at a few twigs that they flaoted by.

Serenity gasped ats Rose outburst and looked down at her feet. "Rose I am just trying to protect you..." A small tear ran down Serenity's cheek. Rose noticed the tear and hugged her sister. "I am sorry...I shouldn't have yelled. Anyways we should go to the temple now. It is best not to waste time." Rose smiled up at her sister and walked back toward the temple. Serenity smiled back and took one more glace at the girl Iro. She then followed her sister up the path to the temple.

Iro let out an irritated groan. "Why," she asked, "are you always so moody?"

"Would the monotone cheerfulness of the priests be more suited to your tastes?" he said in a challenging tone, looking intensely at Iroka. He held that gaze for a few seconds before breaking it off and sighing. It was hard for him to ignore the jaunty humming of the raft driver.

"I just can't beleive your life to be that awful," Iroka said shortly, "I'm on the run for murder and I'm not even this dull. YOU, on the other hand, are living a life of high luxury in a temple!"

Rose walked into the temple silently with her sister following behind. She noticed the priest she had talked to before and walked over to him. "Hello I am Rose from before...I was wondering about helping out on your medical staff. And again I am sorry for what happened." Rose blushed and smiled at the priest. Serenity eyed the priest and sighed annoyed.

The priest, who was currently meditating by the gate, looked up. "Of course you may, though I must ask you leave your weapons somewhere else. May I ask how skilled you are in healing?"
Ryushi glared at the water. "You made your choices, you got your consequences. I am simply handed the end result. There's nothing from that. You're wrong about the luxury part, too."
"How much longer?" he said, calling out to the man. He knew it would be a while, but felt he had to change the subject.
"Oh, I'd say half an hour or so."

"I made my choice for the good of my people!!!" Iroka huffed, Ryu's statement hitting a nerve. "I can't help the fact that I've been falsely accused of nine murders I didn't commit! The one that I DID commit was in an attempt to STOP more from happening!"

Serenity glared at the priest and walked toward the door. "Rose I will not part with my weapons....you may if you wish...I will be waiting outside."Rose took out all her daggers, poison needles and knives. She handed them to her sister and smiled back at the priest. "Suit yourself Serenity..." Rose watched as her sister left the temple and turned back to the priest. "I am sorry about my sister...shes a little moody...." Rose giggled at this and kept on talking. "I have been practicing medicine since I was a child...I was taught by the priests and doctors in our village....well that was until the village well lets just say that it faced a gruesome ordeal." Rose bit her lip and looked at the ground. "After that I had nothing to teach me besides ancient scrolls. I consider myself average at healing...not the best but not the worse...."

"You act as if you regret your choice, yet defend it," he said with a slow dead tone of voice. "Don't compare your life to mine when you don't even know your own."
"Do you have capabilities in healing with mana?" the priest inquired.

"And you say you have no regrets, though you compare your current situation to mine as if it were worse," he countered, unfazed by her outburst. In fact, he smiled a bit, albeit ruefully.
The man steering the raft didn't seem to notice the two arguing, and continued to push the raft along and around obstacles.
