Shiloh's head popped up, and and he echoed Ian's sentiments, holding his finger to his lips as he shushed Maebe. "Shhhhhhhh." He was having a hard time keeping a straight face, and an even harder one remembering why they were secret boyfriends. Oh, right, it was because of the incredibly crushing worry that if everyone found out he'd be shunned and their lives made miserable. Of course, that assumed anyone gave a s**t on Deus about anything, least of all him, which they didn't. He was going to have to rethink his anxieties when he sobered up. Meanwhile, he stared at Maebe expectantly.

Yes Al, please kill the bugs because Milo didn't want them traveling down the hall to his room. But, if you wanted to keep them all.... well...
Anyways. Not a few steps into his breezy little stride had Milo breaking into a spirited sort of jog, tossing his empty cup to the side and summoning Koume with a flick his his wrists. They might be bugs, especially given the last encounter, but Milo was a little excited to get himself into the fray of things. Easier to deal with anyways. (It wasn't like they were gigantic, these were... just... mutant sized). And thankfully his buzzed mind was a little occupied to realize he was collecting himself near apparently some other personal drama (hurray!)
There might have been a battle cry from Milo, as he jumped in and swung his nagianata at a few of the flies, slicing a few of them, but it came out more in a slur of inebriated words. Sounded a little like 'Tsujo Kogeki Kakkokari' if anyone was paying attention and maybe a bit too happy. "Haaa, guess we aa' ... exterminatin' ..." Maybe this was slightly directed to Jack, but he wasn't looking in his direction.Quote: hp: 39 (-1) damage: 5 ( -6 mod ) charge: 1/3 Quote: HP: 536 Initial autodamage: 1 Extra: They do increasing DoT. Maebe's expression turned sour and suspicious when her presence was revealed and responded to with a request for secrecy. She looked from one man to the other, over and over, before choosing her words sparingly. "Why?"

Ian lifted a hand and promptly clamped it over Shiloh's mouth before he could answer that question himself, his other arm still around the Shiloh's waist half to keep him from going anywhere and half to keep him somewhat hidden from any prying eyes.
"Well, ah..." Ian glanced down at Shiloh and then back up at Maebe, trying to figure out how to say it. "We're together, but he asked me if we could keep it quiet for now. He's..."
He took a small breath. "He's not out yet," Ian said pointedly. "I personally don't care what other people think or do, or whether they approve or not of our relationship, because it's none of their business. But this guy...he wasn't ready for all of that, not yet. The only reason we're...uh..." A pause. "...well, the only reason we're here now - " (making out in a dark corner) " - is because we got a little carried away and Shyduck's more than a little drunk."
The hand that was over Shiloh's mouth moved to his back as he gently rubbed it, Ian glancing down with an affectionate look at him. "Anyways," he said. "It's not really my secret to tell."

For the first time, the remnants of a smirk flickered across Gale's face.
"Yes," he said, and swung the weapon back so that it rested across one shoulder, Gale holding it casually in place as though it were just an everyday, ordinary conversation he were having. "It is one hell of a rifle, isn't it? Pretty bloody big, I would say too."
<< I like to think I'm pretty awesome. >> Jinhai said loftily.
Without a word, Gale spun back around and fired, the bullets exploding across the room, minuscule ice shards shattering as they hit their targets. The gun felt freezing beneath the gloves on his hands, and Gale straightened, slowly turning around to look back at Jack.
"I thought I told you," he said lightly. "that her name is Stormy. And for the record, assuming I want your advice in any way, shape, or form is a bad move. Haven't you ever heard what happens when you assume?"
His expression was dark. "It makes an a** out of you."

"If you are going to insult me, at least get creative," he replied disdainfully, shrugging off the glower as easily as water fell off a duck's feathers. "Jackass is pretty old news." He'd almost forgotten why he didn't deal with people for extended periods of time: but when conversation drifted to something as banal as the colloquial take on assumptions, like a twelve year old's logic trying to sharpen his rather dull point, well...Jack just scoffed. Next he expected the tried and true argument of length versus skill it's used with for "weapons".
"But suit yourself," he said with a shrug. "If you won't take advice, then take a warning instead." A fly droned too close for his taste, and he sliced off several legs to divert it away, stepping to the side with a distasteful look at the fallen appendages. Hairy, odd little things. It brought back the memories of a younger him pulling the wings off flies.
Then he eyed Gale with an odd smile. "You can't keep her."

Part of her wanted so very badly to hit him, now that she remembered their difference in ranks. What did it matter about height and weapon type when she had power this time? She was comforted by the image of him finally, finally being beaten, and took pity on the fly Jack attacked by putting it out of its misery.
Nevertheless, those words chilled her. They reminded her of what the witch had said before she'd killed it: I curse you.
"Forget about him," she mumbled to Gale as she moved closer, having to concentrate more than usual to keep her balance. "He's not worth it."

“Mmmph!” Ian was very wise, and the moment Shiloh opened his mouth he found a hand clapped over it, effectively cutting off any answer he might have given. He squirmed, but Ian gave a better, and incredibly sweeter, answer than Shiloh ever could have hoped to come up with at the moment, and eventually he settled complacently in Ian’s hold on him, nodding his head. It took all his willpower to not forget their conversation entirely, and go back to kissing the man looking affectionately down at him. Serious discussion was making his head hurt, and making out seemed far preferable, but it remained that Maebe was still standing there, and as one of his closest friend’s, her approval meant the world to him. He leaned over, and tweaked her nose with his fingers. “Maeeebeee,” he drawled. “Maebe, Maebe.” He never really got around to making a point.

While the room started to fill, Melvin started to step back further and further. He could - he had a range weapon. He did, because his mind was already on the cusp of holding it all together. The mission in the desert had only been a few days ago, and he had yet to move away from it. The feeling of insects tickling the back of his throat, slithering against his tongue, and crawling deep down came to him in phantom memories that would sent him to the nearest trash can hoping he wouldn't vomit and going to drink some water just to feel something in his throat that could assure him was free from anything with many legs.
Flies on that coming at them through the dark with bright maggots rolling their pudgy, glossy bodies were all things he was not prepared for. The screaming had stopped at least, but only so he could place one gloved hand over his mouth, keeping himself from either screaming again or gagging.
Eyes wide and hand shaking, he fired at a mass of maggot bodies, not wanting them to get close, and backed up to the door. He wanted to be here to help and keep anyone from being harmed, but the more he stepped back, the stronger the urge to run got.
It had been stupid to leave his room. He wasn't even remotely safe on Deus. HP: 47 Damage:11 Charge: 2/3 Autodamage: 2 Quote: HP: 469 Initial autodamage: 1 Extra: They do increasing DoT. Shiloh wanted this to be a secret? The suspicious look on her face faded, and Maebe returned to a world of apathy, shrugging softly as she stared into her drink. "Well. That's stupid. You're stupid, Shiloh. Just a reminder." Supportive to the last. "Okay." She sighed out in resignation. "I won't say s**t, if that's what he wants. He knows I'd never betray him." She swished her drink casually. "You can go back to kissing now. Pretend I'm not even here. Maybe I'll be your lookout or something."

A smile tugged at his lips. "He is pretty goofy, isn't he?" he said, rubbing a hand atop Shiloh's head. Ian slanted a gaze in Maebe's direction, his eyes dancing with amusement, and then he leaned over, pecking a kiss to her cheek before settling back with an arm around Shiloh's waist.
"You're pretty great," he said, and there was something soft in his expression as he added, "Thanks. Really. When he's sober, it'll mean a lot to him." He turned to look down at Shiloh. "But I think I might just see about getting this guy back to his room."
Ducking his head, he kissed Shiloh's forehead. "He's pretty smashed, and I wouldn't want anything to happen to him, especially with all the hoopla happening around, or what have you."

Oh, it seemed the trio were going to start arguing. Milo took the time to step away from the growing tension - with a spin and a slash, bringing his naginata down on another large disturbing bug.

“No, you are,” he countered Maebe, laughing and making a face at her. “Also, you both know I am right here right? I can hear you, I can see you, I’m drunk not a baby, geeeeeeze. It means a lot to me now.” He smiled broadly at Maebe, then up at Ian, leaning against him. His arms stretched out behind Ian, blindly trying to feel around for wherever Ian had set the bottle. Forming sentences meant coherence, and he didn’t want any semblance of that. With a not too subtle “Aha!” his fingers closed around it where it sat on the table behind them, and wrapped his arms around Ian, bottle and all. If they were going anywhere, he was taking it with him. “Maeeebe,” he said, turning to look her way again. “You are great and you know, we will chat about this okay, we will, I promise you, I will tell you everything and more, Maebe, baby. But you know too, I think my room is a good idea, right Ian, we need to have a little ‘chat’ too, right. A chat with Mr. Whatever the Hell This Is,” he lifted the half empty bottle, shaking it around a little, “And my bed. Right?” He tried to wink at Maebe, and failed spectacularly. He was good at smiling though, so he kept to that, and pulled his phone from his pocket distractedly. Text From Shiloh quinnoa you are misin out on partyy and maebe she is amazing, u should meet her like no time better than present rite i would but got busineess to attend to u kno come quick to basement : ) : ) : ) Since Shiloh wasn't aware of the giant bugs or any other problems currently plaguing the basement, he didn't feel bad about not telling Quinn about them. He just figured, in a drunken stroke of genius, that the two grumps might do well together. It was also possible they might kill each other, but drunken Shiloh hadn't considered that.

Shiloh would, a moment later, recieve a few text messages in succession. Something that was apparently common when Quinn replied. Text from Quinn Why are you typing so weirdly? Text from Quinn Is this Maebe a person? What is Quinnoa? Clearly this last one was the most important.

Maebe made a soft whooping sound as she swiped the bottle away from Shiloh's hands. If he was about to take away her peep show, she was stealing his liquor. "Fine. Jerks. Be that way. I'll just imagine all of it. By the way, in my imagination, Shiloh sucks in bed." She rose the bottle to cheer Ian. "Enjoy!"
