"Long-range sensors are all offline until I get the bridge repaired, cap'n," Mio replies to Aurora, "And even then, all the rock and metal and who knows what else will probably interfere with any deeper scans. Perhaps if we could establish a link with the command deck, we might be able to find out more. Anyway, can you guys takes scans of that corpse-parasite thingamajig and send them back or bring them back?" Honestly, he had found the singing rather peaceful to work to, though he suppose out there it would seem jarring.
Taking a steadying breath of her own, Aurora looks at Aleron and Misha, "Alright, let's fall back ot the ship for now and set up a defensive position there until Mio can get the sensors back up and provide some answers. If he needs any spare parts from the ships in the hangar deck, nobody is to leave the ship alone, got that? Alright, let's fall back."
Keeping her weapons at the ready, she walks backwards towards the hangar, watching the hallways for any moment until she could no longer see down the two side passages.

Aleron helped himself up, brushing some remains off him. "Not much to bring back solid, but I'll gather some assorted samples. Teeth, 'blood', skin, that sort..." he replied to Mio. He went toward the creature and began to collect what was left. "Captain, I'll be behind you two in a few. I'll just need a few more samples, and the body." he said as he gathered them into vials, his visor up despite it's minor damage, and the safety still off his weapon. If something would blow out of the chest, he'd blow it right back in this time.

Miya squeaked in surprise when the...thing first attacked Aleron. That could not have been good. And then Sonja had started that singing...the medic considered covering the patients mouth, but knew that wouldn't be a good idea; especially if she became conscious again and misunderstood the situation.
Following the Captain's orders, Miya kept her deep blue eyes on the survivor. Her fingers absently scratched behind Mace's ears, knowing that the dog would likely be nervous or upset from all the unsettling audio.
At the moment, it sounded like whatever it had been that attacked had been taken care of. So she figured it would be a good time to get a medical status report. "Aleron, are you injured? If so, can you tell me anything about your injuries so I can get my supplies ready?" she inquired over the comm. link, hints of worry and concern lightly coloring her otherwise professional tone.

Aleron sighed a bit. "You mean other then minor mental trauma of almost losing my face? From what I can tell, there are some lacerations around where my visor doesn't cover and those....teeth....got into me. Likely looks a lot worse then it is, considering how much head injuries tend to bleed. I'll stop by after I've collected my samples and placed them in the research deck....under locked array-grids and motion-monitoring." he added at the end. He wanted to study it, but he was a bit worried it might try to eat him...again. "How's Macie?" he asked, a bit randomly.
Mace whined a bit and barked.

"Well, I should have most of the bridge functionality back up and running in a few more minutes," Mio informs everyone. Under his breath, he adds, "I wonder what we've gotten ourselves into though...and just why did the G.R.S. wait so long to send anyone in...?"
Aurora pauses and moves back to cover Aleron while he collects his samples. Whatever was going on here was over her head, but it didn't take brains to figure out that it was bad for something like whatever it was that had attacked Aleron to exist.
Aleron would notice that the entire abdominal cavity was hollow while he collected samples from the body, and that the tentacle had its anchorage within it. it would seem likely that the appendage was stored within when at rest...

Miya slowly nodded as she listened to Aleron's condition, sighing silently at the last part. The second time that day she'd heard someone say something about head injuries bleeding like it wasn't any problem... But, if that was really all he'd gotten, then that was pretty lucky.
At his question about Mace, she looked down at the dog. "She looks a little freaked from the survivor and probably a little worried from hearing you get attacked. But, other than that, she seems good overall," her previous professional tone was replaced by a warm, caring tone. She could tell that Aleron really cared about Macie, so she didn't find it odd and didn't mind telling him.

"Good, Mio. That means I'll have my computers and equipment, right?" he asked as he looked at the chest. "Christ...! No, I take that back. This is no creature from any religion...and if it is, it sure isn't from above. I'm going to transport the entire body to my lab for more detailed observation and analysis..." he informed the crew. He was going to bring what-ever just tried to eat him onto the ship to poke at. Lovely, no?

"That shouldn't have been affected," Mio replies, "Though, given the pieces of s**t that had been put into the circuit breakers and coupling up here in the bridge, some stuff might have been knocked out by the power surge during the crash. Hey, doc, can you do a quick check to make sure everything's alright in sick bay? Might need the life-support equipment there before we get out of this from what the 2nd Lieutenant just said about that body."
"Belay that, Lieutenant," Aurora says, "If you want to poke and prod that body, you'll do it off the Walkurst. The lab should have portable equipment that you could set up just outside."
"Hff, yeah, there should be," Mio confirms.
Sonja's singing fades off, apparently settling into a deeper state of unconsciousness.

Aleron stood, facing the captain. "Captain you can't be serious! To move the necessary equipment would take hours! And the decomposition rate on this creature, much less it's host, is steady and time can't be wasted..! To set up an external lab is inefficient...I'd be too limited, and being outside the ship puts me at risk, which would divide my attention between making sure nothing gets the jump on me and studying the subject!" he objected, almost pacing with his discontent. "I...I have a solution. Isolate my lab, and allow me to leave it after a full search and scan. I can't afford to waste time waiting for one of you to help me lug everything out, Mio aid in it's set-up, and run a full diagnostics to make sure nothing was damaged. If I could just take it to my lab, the rest of you wouldn't need to worry about being interrupted by helping me, and I could get right to study!" he explained, becoming a bit more excited. He really wanted to check on that pulsing plant and now this new toy...

"On it," she replied to Mio, keeping her ears alert to the comm conversations and, more importantly, the patient. Now that she had some free time and was looking around the sickbay, she could see that it was as well-stocked as any standard hospital. Ventilator, heart-monitor, defibrillator, and a whole host of practically anything else she might need. With every piece of equipment, she turned it on for a brief time to make sure it was in working order.
"Hm...looks like everything's working fine, fortunately. Looks like things were set up in here to withstand a crash without damaging anything...which makes sense, since this is the one area that would absolutely have to be operational if anyone got hurt in a crash..." Her voice got quieter as she spoke, going from reporting to thinking aloud. When she was done with checking the equipment, she went back over to Sonja and watched her carefully. With what the field team had run into, who knew what might happen...

Aurora knew having him set up outside would put Aleron more at risk, but she was loathe to bring the body on board. Still... "Fine," she sighs, "Let's just get out of this hallway."
"That's good to hear, Miya," Mio replies to her. One less thing for him to worry about. To Aurora, he says, "Lieutenant Aleron's right, cap'n, the science lab is set up for quarantine conditions. Though, if you give me a few more minutes to fix the bridge, I can then run a ship-wide diagnostic and make sure the molecular filters are still in good condition for the lab."
Aurora nods at that, "Understood, though I want it on the record that I think it's an awfully big risk..."
Sonja was shivering a little, and her blood pressure was dropping.

'Excellent, Excellent!! Aleron to medic, is there a mobile stretcher I can use? I'd rather not drag or carry the host.." he asked, sounding a bit excited.

Miya, keeping her eyes on Sonja, noticed her shivering a bit. That couldn't be good... She grabbed an ear thermometer, the quickest-reading thermometer that required no assistance from the patient, and checked her temp to see if her body temperature was dropping, or if it was a case of fever-induced chills.
"Yes, Aleron. There's a mobile stretcher here. But you'll need someone to come get it...something's up with the survivor, and I need to focus on her at the moment."

Sonja's temperature had dropped a little, but of more concern was that she was bleeding out internally, hence the drop in blood pressure. Something needed to be done quickly for that...

Aleron secured the vials and quickly jogged toward the ship. "Perfect! On my way. Something wrong? What is it?" he asked.
