"It's a good place...," Luo sighed and pondered for a few seconds. "In Ba Sing Se I'll call myself Tang Huo and you could be my cousin... Tang Sui. But wait, wouldn't they see our Fire Nation ship and notice we're Fire Nation? Maybe we could risk arrest and just say we're Fire Nation. Or we could say that we're just Fire Nation civilians traveling the world."

"Fire Nation civilians who stole a military ship traveling the world." She laughed softly at the idea and sat back down in her seat, putting her arms on the table then her head on top of them. She thought for a moment then shrugged, "Sounds like a good idea..."

Colonel Luo Agagisan chuckled. "Yeah, that's a pretty good idea actually... we'll just say the military sells its ships to traveling civilians for a large price. You do realize Fire Lord Pao Nao recently withdrew our troops from the Earth Kingdom, so I think we might get a better reception, especially if we're only civilians. Or how about rich traveling Fire Nation nobles? That will guarantee us getting in the Middle Ring."

"Rich Fire Nation Nobles." She grinned, "Yeah, sounds about right. Yes, I was there when the previous Fire lord and Pao Nao were discussing pulling out the troops."

Colonel Luo Agagisan's eyes widened. "You where?! How did you get in?" He realized something and shook his head. "Oh, right. You're a Royal Guard. I almost forgot about that. So, what did they say? Anything interesting?"

Kikio laughed softly, "Alright, this is what happened. I had went into the city because of a disturbance by a water bender. After he said some very odd comments meant to be compliments towards me, he left when Fire Lord Kajo arrived. I had talked to him for a bit then Pao Nao came and started to discuss something with the fire lord. He then brought up the idea of withdrawing the troops, wondering what the generals opinion was. Pao Nao thought it was a great idea and then went off to inform the troops. Not every exciting..."

Agagisan munched a cookie and listened with interest. "Disturbance by a waterbender? Compliments? And why would Pao Nao suggest withdrawing troops? It doesn't make sense to me. Why would Pao Nao withdraw troops when we were about to win the war?"

Agagisan scratched his head. "Why would Fire Lord Kajo end the war? His predecessor was the one who started it anyway. We were nearing victory in the war before his death. So it isn't Pao Nao's fault..."

Colonel Luo replied to Kikio, "Wars aren't that simple, Kikio. They don't only lead to destruction and hatred. Of the four nations, why do you think we have the best air force, the strongest navy, and the best defenses? It was because the Fire Nation was toughened after one hundred years of Sozin's War. This recent war was started by the Northern Water Tribe and eventually the Fire Nation gained the upper hand and was able to secure land in the Earth Kingdom. It's unnatural for national leaders to want peace. It's against their pride." He sighed and drank a sip of tea when he noticed Ria. "Good morning. I suppose I could ice-fish."

Colonel Luo Agagisan sighed. "National leaders are often proud men who will sacrifice their subordinates for greater power and pride, even if they don't realize it. They often let the riches and the power go to their head. If you study history, the founders of dynasties are often sensitive leaders and care for their people, but the later leaders are spoiled and corrupt. That's the weakness of monarchy. The people can shove all the sins and responsibility onto one man, who often can't handle that much."

"You obviously did not know Fire Lord Kajo well..." Kikio replied as she drank more tea. "He was a good man, not letting any of that foolish greed go to his head. And yes- I have studied history and have to agree with you on that. But...that doesn't mean every leader now is a spoiled brat."
