It's obviously a diagram of the relationship of two solar systems. The larger one acts as a gravitational fulcrum for the smaller solar system. Although I think it's inaccurate, because surely they would share their outermost planets, and probably become a dual-star system, given enough time. Well, if neither of the stars die before the systems have time to merge.

xp In retrospect I wasn't very specific, though I probably shouldn't be with how I see it. Especially now that I see another couple of ways that still lead me to believe it's still gotta be painful.
