The only time I ever almost passed out when I cut myself was when I stabbed myself pretty good in the wrist. I was freaked because... I mean... it was my friggin' wrist... It's a bad, bad thing to stab yourself in the wrist. Worse when it's 2:00 in the morning. I clamped down on my wrist, laid on my back on my table, and raised my arm in the air, and just started laughing maniacally for a couple seconds. ... I think I might've been fainting, but I didn't want to cough to spurt blood into my head because I knew that would raise the blood pressure in my arm... which could be bad. I fought it off, though... and it wasn't too bad. Feel stupid that I let it get to me though... but at least I did all the right things... on reflex, even. No stitches on that, though... because it wasn't too bad. When I looked at it later though, I was lucky where I stabbed myself... considering I had miraculously happened to hit a triangle where there were no veins... and all the veins were 1/4 of an inch away from the mark. Here's a picture. The scar has since moved to somewhere else... and I have a few scars around there from who knows what anymore... so I can't tell which one was that one. That's why that convenient red splotch is there to show you the approximate area in which I stabbed myself. The penny is there for a size reference. There's actually another vein up above that branch that completes the triangle, but I couldn't get it to cooperate and pop out like those two did. Like I said... wasn't deep... wasn't bad... but it was deep enough to puncture one of those and that is was sooo damn close. But then again, it probably wouldn't have been that big a deal, anyway... Veins aren't the problem when they get severed, it's arteries... you get holes in your veins every time you get blood drawn... but still, that scared me when it happened.

Oh, yeah... and this is the thing I stabbed myself with. I was trying to find a place to put it... and wasn't paying attention, so when I tried to put it in a drawer I stabbed myself in the arm that was holding the door open. One prong from the tip of the long blade is what got me...

Other than that, though, I've never been cut really badly. I seem to have the devils luck when it comes to getting hurt, for some reason. ... No matter how stupid I'm being... And believe me, I've been pretty stupid...
Okay, random dumb luck example! One day, I decided to make a lead flaid. Why? Because I could. This was when I was... I dunno... 15? 16? So, I made me a clay mold and stuff. Then I got one of those tin coffee cans and put fishing weights and some solder in it. Then I put that on the stove and melted it down. And I don't care how much my Mom thought that was stupid, that part was kinda alright, seeing as the boiling point of lead is lower than the melting point of tin, so there's no way the tin would melt while there is still liquid lead in it. Plus I had the fan... thing (I wanna say "hood") on, and wasn't breathing in the fumes. Anyway, I randomly decided to pour water in there, because I had no idea what would happen. It''s so obvious to me now, but at the time, not so much. Ever put water in boiling oil? Well... that's what happened... but with molten lead. Water went in, went about an inch into the lead, then flash boiled all at once and exploded, sending lead flying everywhere in a random spray pattern. And not a single drop hit me or my clothes. pray in an angle to the left of me? Yes. To the right? Yes. On me? Nothing. There was like a cone of space where nothing hit me. And that was the only place around that stove that wasn't splattered.
That's what I mean by dumb luck.
In retrospect, I think it happened because the explosion was closer to me in the can, therefore shielding me more. But I wasn't really thinking about that when I did it... and that's still lucky anyway you look at it.
Ah, and I made the flail, by the way. It looked pretty good back then. It's kinda... deformed now though, being lead and all. Lead doesn't really like to keep its shape. Especially when it's all pointy...

It's sort of like a gauntlet... There's a bar in the spiked guard inside where you hold it. It's kind of unwieldy, though, since that's all you're holding it by. It should extend further and like, strap to your arm, or something...

It looks more dangerous to the user than to anyone else. I am glad it wasn't too bad, from the looks of that thing you could have gotten much worse.
How did everyone like their 4th of July? (if you live elsewhere how was your weekend?)

o_o I woulda freaked out bad if I stabbed myself with that by accident. I have a few scars on me, though only one needed stitches. But I swear this one I have on my arm looks like Africa. You can barely see it anymore, but it's there. That one was caused by me jumping off a scooter while going down a hill and the big band-aids I used for it ripping off the new skin that was forming. It hurt like a b***h and took a while to heal. And the one on my index finger that needed stitches was caused by boredom, stupidity, not being able to spend the night at a friend's house and a pocket knife and pencil. I was trying to either poke a hole or carve one into a pencil that wasn't sharpened with the scissor tool thing for some reason and as I was doing it, it slipped or something and cut my finger almost to the bone. I didn't even realize it until I glanced over and went, 'Oh, look at that. Gushing blood...OH MY GOD.' And then I was trying to hide it from my dad thinking he'd get mad at me for even playing with his pocket knife by washing the blood off in the bathroom sink but it wouldn't stop. I had to go to him anyways. He wasn't mad, which made me happy but scared/worried as hell. SO THEN OFF THE ANGRA HOSPITAL. ( I lived in the Azores at the time. ) : D So yeah, it's nothing big...But I made a big deal out of it when it was time to take the stitches out. XD
My 4th of July was okay. Had the girls over, so we took them to an area where they could see all these major areas shooting off fireworks and these people who bought their own. xD There were these two loud bangs right on the water next to us and I thought someone was stupid for a moment. :B It was purty. I think Destin had the better one since they're the richy rich place. - o

Oh wow! Shelby, thats just scary! (thoughts of "right to the bone..."shivers) I am glad your dad wasn't too mad. I have a couple scars too, including the one where my brother stabbed me with a newly sharpened pencil (I have a black spot there now)
We had a big bang near our home too, from a big firework. It shook the whole house, I was sure someone had had an accident. It was ok though, and we saw all sorts of fireworks go off for the rest of the night.

Nope. Not dangerous. Annoying whenever I get my palm read (which is rarely) though. "Oh, looks like you stabbed yourself with a pencil here" "... *sigh* Yeah... I did."
