Ah, it's my interpretation of it. I might do another piece, and completely change it.

Dragon scales are usually considered the strongest naturally grown substance. It doesn't matter.
The Tarrasque has the best hide, but getting it is rather tricky. The things are immune to all magics that target creatures (reflective carapace automatically redirects beams and fireballs, and anything else thrown at it), and is hard as hell. They are next to imposible to kill. The current favourite tactic against them is to be swallowed and then use magics against them, but the problem with that is most wizards are killed by the gizzard. Unfortunately, most creatures with any powerful magic lack the HP to do this... Not to mention that a Tarrasque's teeth are vorpal, and letting it hit you is a coup de grace (auto crit, head severing action). so you have to be lucky enough to be swallowed... Unfortunately, the creature prefers to use its claws (all four) and tail as its primary mode of attack. And the damage reduction of... 55/+5 I think, makes getting the hide even more difficult to get. Not only does its armour class rival the gods, it has godlike damage reduction, unless you have a weapon of +5 enhancement bonus (not including effects) you cant hurt it until after you have done 55 damage, which usually means by this point, you are doing one third less damage if you are a kick a** fighter or three. Since it is not evil, smiting it has no effect. Its fort save is frigin amazing, so using a vorpal weapon against it wont work. It also regenerates...
Tangents...
