Onyx looked up, and tilted his head lightly...and looking over her. Predatory skill and natural abilities kicking in.
"You were crying pretty bad. your eyes are swollen and red and your skin is raw...did you really find yourself that dirty? and if you'd like I can comb your hair..claws work much finer than brushes."
A look at the staff.
"No problem, Whirlwind. and what does this thing do anyway?"
Tapping the staff with his claw.

She made a noise in the back of her thorat, dimissing the issue. SHe didn't want to tlak about it. "I said I was fine." And she figured that was the end of the discussion. The she shrugged. "If you feel like brushing it. It's pretty matted."
She heaved a sigh, her gaze traveled slowly to the staff. She flinshed a bit when he tapped it. Reaching ou, she picked it up. As it happened everytime she picked it up, it happened again. the staff tried to force the feelings into her. As usualy, she told it to stop, and it did.
She shrugged. "It can do some usefull things. It can transport me, or me and one other if I have the strength for it. Rides a little bumpy, but it works. I can make those little birds with it, wind sparrows. Usefull for sending messages and the like. A signature." She jimgled the bells and hoops. "It can do a few other tihngs, move the iar, creat a storm. But it's power is mostly with the soul. If I wanted, I can coman it to tear a soul from the body. What I use the body for," She shrugged. "I don't know anybody who used it for anything but to help the soul out of a dying body."

Kieran gave a chuckle and shook his head lightly, clasping his hands behind himself in the small of his back. "A gift from a future son in law? Trying to get in good with me are you Malik? I think you've got that pretty much covered." In that joking mood as always...so that's where Piper got it from...and a slight shrug also, taking a look around again. "I'm not keen on gifts really, but if you really want to, just pick something. Your pack rat collection after all." Ever the humble elf as well, wasn't he? And then a little serious nod at the other information. "Perhaps Tarathiel is playing so hard because this was his home first. You've sort of...invaded. Even if you don't mean him any problems or fuss, he's still not satisfied with a new neighbor."
She was finalizing her list now to exactly how she wanted it. Twelve children, the rest adults, seemingly picked at random from that master list that she had. Of course there was a method to her choosing, even if it didn't look like it. Of course by this time she had also left the stables...Nightmare was giving her no end of fussing over the little addition. It wasn't like Anica was going to stay long...the horse, unlike the Zephyrs and Nightmare, actually needed sun and green grass, fresh air to survive...Piepr planned on asking her father to take the horse with him when he left. But for now, she was in the dog house with Nightmare. A look up every now and then through to check on the imps and calculate their destruction.

Piper loocked back to see the imps paused in their actions. Jaun had one boot on his brothers stomach, Jell's foot in turn was in his own. The two appeared to have been fighting over something, and indeed there were feathers sticking out of Juan's mouth, the thing isnide was still kicking at his cheeks.
They regarded Piper with large saucer eyes. "Waf?"
Jell amde a swipe to his brother. "I found it first! I want toe at it!"
"If aweawy im mah mouf!"
"I don't care! I want it!" Jell tried to pry his brother's mouth open, but Jaun was quite the unmoving imp.

Piper's eyes probably got as big as thiers. What the hell were they doing...and what were they eating for that matter? Settng aside her list making she walked over, grabbed each by a tail and pulled them apart. Then a point to Jell, looking much like an angry mother who knew her child had something horrible hiding in his pocket and he wanted to keep it. "Juan, what in the elvish Gods' names do you have in your mouth? Spit it out. Now..." It was alive, it had feathers, and that was all she really needed to know.

She said okay, and the second she did she was on his lap, his wings folded in to helpsupport her, while one had was on her shoulder, the other combing through her hair gently with his claws, like a very fine toothed comb.
"It is a dangerous thing, that staff. Are you sure you can control it?"
Malik chuckled lightly.
"Alright then. As for Tarathiel..he's a threat but only mildly. as long as he doesn't trust me anymore than I him, we'll more than likely keep away form eachother on most things."
Malik looked over the items in his vault..and picked up a necklace. the stones were odd, and looking like they were made of still flowing lava.
"The necklace of fiery gazes. great protection from fire and heat. and anything hidden by fire you can see. such as enchantments that only flame uncovers."

Jaun's eyes shifted back and forth as if to imply that no, there was nothing in his mouth. But Piper stood there...and je sighed. "Aw mah fu ish ruewed."
He opened his mouth and stuck out his tounge.
A very disrgunstled, and now very slobery, fairy sat on Jaun's tounge. He whiped spit out of his eyes, flicked it away with his fingers "Disgusting." Fairy? hell, he looked like a tiny angel, but there was nothing else to describe him realy. Nright blue skin, dark blue hair, white trousers, and feathered wings.
He looked up, gave Piper a look. He pointed back at the open maw upon which he sat. "Is this your mess?"

She squealed a bit, and was not the elast bit comfortable sitting on his lap. SHe closed her eyes and pretended to ignore the feeling. She stiffled her shivers.
"I can handle it. I was meant to handle it."
She felt almost as if she werew in a cage of feathers, where once she had been in a cage of silk.

Kieran took the object, looking over it in much the scholorly way that he often looked at things. Full time scholar was right. But hey, with age came a need for constancy and he was happy hanging up his adventuring boots and pulling on his scholor ones. "Interesting little trinket indeed." Oh he would find a use for it...only Corellon knew what he would do in experimentation with that thing. Kid in a candy shop sometimes. "Well, hopefully that's the way you and Tarathiel will coexist. Things are tense enough as it is. So then, shouldn't we get to sending these little barter chips off then?"
Piper was baffled. He was like a fairy...yet not a fairy...okay...Reaching out she plucked the little guy from Juan's mouth, setting him on her other upturned palm, holding him eye level. Slightly fascinated? Yes. But she shook her head softly. "Um..kind of. I'm sorry he did that...they'll pretty much stick anything in thier mouths." Quiet a moment, tilting her head to the side. "And you would be?" Well she was finding all sorts of things today wasn't she?

Jaun looked severaly diappionted that he couldn't eat the fairy thing.
"You see what you did Jell? If you hadn't said anytihng, I could have eaten the thing in peace!"
The fairy grumbled. "Anything in their mouths..." he shivered, thinking what else had been in that mouth. "I feel dirty." He rung spit out of one of his feathers.
He put on a smile put a hand to his chest, "I'm...." he furrowed his brow. "I'm...." He scratched his head. Then he looked down at himself, spreading his arms slightly. "I'm a blue fairy." He shrugged in liu of an appology.

A look to Jaun. "You can't eat things...perople...creatures, like this Jaun. It's just not right..." Indeed not right and her eyes went to the fairy liek creature who was wringing spit out of his feathers then going about...trying...to introduce himself. Another tilt of her head, red and silver strands falling into her eyes slightly. "You..don't have a name or you can't remember it?" Then she shook her head slgihty. "Um, forgive me. I'm Piper Silverfeather." Then another curious look at him. "Just to humor me...how did you manage to get in his mouth?"

He kept up the head scratching. "Uh well, let's say That I can't remeber if I have a name or not. And since it would be silly for me to not have a name of some kind..." he shrugged. "I suppose I can't remeber."
He blushed, his cheeks turning purple. "He caught me while I was..." he coughed, "relieving myself."

She only smiled at him, perhaps if she had the drive to she would of even laughed. But laughter didn't come easy to her these days really. The little thing was adorable when he blushed, cheeks flushing purple...like someone else she knew. "I guess not remembering is better than not having. Let me take you inside...you're feathers need to dry." A look to Jaun and Jell. "Are you two coming or are you staying out here to...do whatever it is you two do?" Of course she was already walking.

Jell and Jaun followed, thier mouths watering. They didn't need to be asked twice.
"I do suppose it is at that, eh?" He sat and watched the manor approach, as the went inside, head swivling this way and that. "Thank you very much, kind Piper. I dare say it has not been a good journey for me. Got chased by a jackle not too long ago."
He craned his neck to look up at her. "Can you tell me wear I am? Perhaps I might remeber where I was going."

A look back to eager following imps. They still wanted to eat him, obviously. Well...they wouldn't be. But at least they were distracted from doing other havoc for the time being. "You're traveling in the Underdark then? And by yourself? That's not a very wise thing to do...thing happen...like I'm sure you know." Piper walked into the dining room, setting the fairy on the table, making sure to be a barrier between him and the imps in case they got any bright ideas. "You're in a place in the Underdark called Labyrinth. And to be exact you're at mine and my fiance's home, Triumverate Fortress." Another tilted head look. "Can I get you anything?"
