<>'s situation is kind of bad... went out with a girl that was my best friend, but it didn't work out (it was the "let's still be friends" kind of breakup) and now she's all depressed over it, and I feel bad for her but I just can't pretend to love her/like her in that way, it would be lying to her. She has a pretty bad past and a history of cutting, and now she's admitted to starting again...

I think Nekenshi is right. Cutting is really bad. (I didn't realize that until I saw my therapist's face when I told her about it. People tend to think it's nothing... which isn't true.)
