"Nice women?" Terryn raised an eyebrow, an incredulous expression on her face. "They exist? I thought they were just an old brothel myth."

"The same might be said for Gran, if it were not for me." Marcus looked rather pleased, as though he took pride in driving his grandmother insane. "But that might change, now. Since I've gone off and gotten married."

Terryn returned her attention to him, reclining and letting her eyes close. "Hopefully. Perhaps she will be able to finally relax."

"Oh just you wait." Terryn flashed a rather wicked grin at him. "Since you currently have me swayed towards the prospect of children, I have decided that it would only be fitting for me to have the most terrible mood swings once we finally do end up conceiving. And..." She leaned in and lowered her voice. "As the only trusted maternal figure I know, who do you think is going to be the one I spend most of my time with?"

Marcus laughed. "You do me proud, Terryn," he said at last. "And she'll have absolutely nothing to say, of course, since she's been whining about great-grandchildren all this time. She'll have to parade around with that smile she has. The one that looks as though it has been frozen to her face." Marcus had on several occasions caused that smile to appear, and he relished it each and every time.

"Oh dear..." Terryn gulped at the thought. "Poor woman. She shall end up frozen that way. I do fear that it will scare off the children. They may think it to be one of those Pagan demon masks they wear on Samhain."
