Deanna was surprised, but appreciative, as she heard the sound of the lock being enacted. It seemed that Selene had decided to make sure they were not inadvertently walked in on again while they have a few moments of alone time. That was very sweet and thoughtful of her to do, allowing them to know if someone came to see him. She turned her focus back to Kahiau, nodding her head that she would not have thought his father would be behind the betting pool. She was glad that he agreed with her though, about them needing to kiss, before anyone else came. She saw movement out of the corner of her eye, looking to see Garchomp and Goodra going to the different doors to sit guard. That was also so precious, she appreciate their assistance in this.
"Looks like everyone has us covered, making sure no more interruptions. Between your sister locking the door and two of your Pokemon at the ready at the doors, we should be set,"she giggled. She looked into his eyes as he turned to her as well, reaching up a bit to meet him as he bent down. She felt his lips make contact with her own, they were as soft as she thought they would be. She closed her eyes and leaned more into the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck as she did so.
"Same here, but I did get to reconnect with Judge earlier today so there is that. This a first with the physical pain though. It does hurt, but like a medium, sharp, and quick pain. I'm glad that they hadn't start to bleed anywhere and hope that they won't later." Selene said before wincing at more pain. "No, this stays between the two of us for now. Dr. Zemaitis just learned today about the self-inflicted cuts and not looking forward to my next check up visit with him as I'm assuming that he's going to ask more about that.. It took him by surprise after he had to cut my glove and arm protector sleeve off. As far as anyone knows, all of them were done in Kalos, where it started and hopefully ended." Selene said as she had cut herself a few times before leaving for Galar but it wasn't over Sly though, it was due to her own insecurities. ' Had I told Estelle about those few cuts that I did before Galar? I don't think I did but not something to mention about right now.' She thought to herself, hoping that Judge with beat this Sableye that was causing them both pain right now.
"Some Vulpix just attacked you? Was it working with someone maybe?" Dan wondered aloud, though he doubted Crystal had an answer to that. Some Pokemon were just aggressive; he had experienced that firsthand many times. But most of the time when a Pokemon did something wrong, it was at the behest of its trainer. "Good thing for Sebastian." The group continued to get closer to Kahiau's house.

'As far as anyone knows?' 'Hopefully?' Something about Selene's word choice alarmed Estelle. Is there something she's not telling me? Don't freak out. If there is, she has a reason. She thought to herself. Gently, Estelle took Selene's hand in her own, carefully avoiding her injuries as she said, "I know it's tough, and I know it's an ongoing battle but like I said I'm not going to let you fight this alone. So promise me, if you're tempted to pick up a knife, pick up your phone and call me first. OK?"

"I didn't see anyone around at the time. However, it is possible." She says after she thinks about it. Sebastian was listening to the world around them for trouble. He wasn't about to let Crystal get hurt like that ever again. Crystal smiles at Sebastian and pets the shiny Zoroark's head in reassurance.

Seeing and hearing how Estelle reacted to her words, it sounded like she hadn't told her how it really began. A sigh escaped her lips as she looked back down at her wrist to see that the scars were returning to normal. A picture of Judge in his mega form flinging the Sableye away with his tail. Selene felt her friend take one of her hands into hers. "It's disappearing, going back to normal. I think the battle is over. " Selene felt her friend take one of her hands into hers.
"I know and thank you Estelle. I'll try to remember to call you if the urge to cut myself like back then happens. It did start in Kalos but earlier than you might think. The worst of it was after Sly left me behind there, which you saw the results of sadly. I'm sorry that you and Elio had to see that. Yet I'm grateful that you two were there to help me. I would have been dead if you hadn't checked on me that night." Selene said with regret written on her face and tone of voice.
" It was before we met at the pokemon school even. Remember when I told you about going to that dance camp in Kalos when I was ten? Both Marguerite and I were staying at our Grandparents Beaumont's place in Lumiose City. She was going to a science camp while I going to a dance camp. It was the second to last week-end of the visit and the two of us were spending some time with her friends when they decided to play the pain game. Whoever would not scream in pain or held from crying in pain the longest, wins. It has always been more about feeling the physical pain overriding the feelings the emotional pain. It wasn't until after Sly left me behind that I began using a knife over other tactics. Before we went our separate ways, it was rare that I fell prey to that temptation but it did happen. " She admitted to her best friend. Selene hadn't planned to say all that tonight but it was out now. Hibiscus came out of her poke ball and got into Selene's lap to comfort her.

Watching Selene's scars go back to normal felt surreal. 'The battle is over.' With such clear evidence right in front of her, Estelle couldn't help but believe Selene really was connecting to some battle Judge was fighting. Could Sly be fighting Team Rocket? Is that why he came back to Alola? Is that why he left in the first place? Should we discuss this now? For the moment, any further discussion of what Selene's 'visions' might mean would have to wait, as Selene started explaining when she'd first cut herself. It was a shock to hear it started as a game with children. All Estelle could do was wrap her arms around Selene's shoulders. "Thanks for trusting me with that, I know it was hard," she said, grateful that Selene had opened up to her. "And even if you don't call me before, call me as soon as possible after. I'll be there for you." Estelle added gently, wanting to make sure Selene would reach out to her when she needed it. I hope it won't be necessary. But I hope even more to be there if it is.

"I wished that I had told you sooner as I had only told my therapist about that before now. I should have told you first, not her." Selene as she was a little mad at herself for not telling Estelle sooner since Estelle is her best friend."I will try to, either before or afterwards. Hopefully it won't come to that though. We'll see how things go." Selene said as if it hadn't been for Kahiau's plans, she might have cut herself tonight when alone. She knew that Estelle and Dea will keep an eye out for any of that tonight. Speaking of Dea...
"As for what happened out here, let's keep it to ourselves for now, alright? I won't want to freak anyone out tonight about the old scars looking like new and then fading back to normal. I want to find out more before saying anything about it." Selene asked her friend as her thoughts went back to Dea and Kahiau.
"I think it might be time to start heading back though. I wonder if the two love birds had had that kiss already or not. I hope that they hadn't been interrupted by someone else." Selene said before taking Hibiscus into her arms before getting up from the rock that she had been sitting on.

"To be fair, that happened before we even met, and I'm pretty sure a therapist can help you more than I can - with that particular story at least." Estelle said, understanding why Selene had never mentioned the story about the pain game before. Estelle also hoped they'd be able to get trough all this without Selene feeling that temptation. She knew there'd be plenty of calls and crying, but hopefully Selene would never get so low she turned to a blade. I don't want her to... Estelle wouldn't even let herself think of what could have happened if she hadn't checked on Selene back then. "Yeah, I won't say anything about what happened with your scars." The Pokémon astronomer answered her friend's request. "If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I'm not even sure I'd believe it myself. And I think you're right, the happy couple's had enough time alone." A cheeky smile spread over Estelle's face as she went on. "Now they have to tell us ALL the juicy details." As she turned back toward Kahiau's house, she added, "Oh, and never keep something from a therapist because you think you should tell me first. When you need help I want you to get the best help you can, and there's things therapists can do for you that I can't." The Pokémon astronomer didn't think her friend would avoid sharing something important with a therapist because of that, but she wanted to be sure.

Kahiau chuckled slightly at Dea's words before he began kissing her. 'They certainly did.' He thought as he enjoyed her sweet lips. Kahiau wanted to let this kiss be a long one but knowing that others would be arriving sooner than later... He made sure that the kiss was gentle, tender, and sweet before pulling his lips away from his Kāna ipo. His eyes sparkled before he spun them around the room again. Before setting her back down in her wheel chair, he kissed her on the forehead.
"Considering that we do have plans for the evening, we can find time on another day to do more of that." The kahuna said with a wink at the end while Dea adjusted herself in the wheelchair if need be after he sets her in it. " Would you be willing to finish cutting up the sweet potatoes and then some plantains? I was thinking chip styled and already have the frying warming up the oil so by the time you're done cutting them, the oil will be ready." He said as he headed back into the kitchen to finish cutting up the poni radishes. He was behind and getting the prep work done for tonight's get together but there wasn't a big rush though.
After a few more minutes of walking, the group was coming upon what must be Kahiau's house. Dan guessed this because Rockruff took off directly at the house, barking all the way. Dan took a few steps to run after him but faltered and glanced back at Crystal, remembering that she couldn't run in her current condition. He looked wistfully at Rockruff, and at Jolteon who was chasing him, but stayed at a walking pace with Crystal. Pidgeot hovered near them, and Lickitung trudged along behind them.
By the time the rest of the group got to the door, Rockruff and Jolteon were sitting beside it. Rockruff was panting from the run, and Jolteon was grinning. Dan came up to the door and knocked on it to summon Kahiau, if he was home.

Deanna wished the kiss could be longer too, but just a gentle and sweet one would just have to be enough. When he pulled back, she let out a happy sigh, that had been more perfect than she had words for. She managed a soft giggle as he spun them around, she had caught the glimmer in his eyes as he did so. Next time, maybe they would manage a longer kiss or the time after that. She was fine with waiting til they had a longer time alone, before getting to enjoy such. The kiss they shared was perfect for the time, knowing people would be returning or showing up soon enough. They had captured the moment while they had it, they really could not have made it any better. She soon found herself back into her wheelchair, feeling the kiss on her forehead, causing her to smile once more.
"You were totally reading my mind, that is my job, sir. I had just been thinking on how we could do more of that wonderful thing called kissing later. As for cutting up some sweet potatoes and some plantains, I can definitely do that,"she agreed. She got herself properly situated in her chair, before rolling over to where the sweet potatoes were and got a knife ready. She then went to the table, to help cut them the way he wanted them. When she heard the door, she wondered who it was, though glad they had not knocked earlier.
I am sure you or Kahiau will go find out,'Lightning reminded. She looked to Kahiau, to see who would go do so, knowing both were capable of it.
Kahiau let a chuckle out after hearing her giggle."Oui, but sadly that won't be later tonight though." The kahuna gave her a sad puppy face before smiling again."As for the sweet potatoes, I want to sprinkle sea salt on them after they come out of the fryer. Then sugar on the plantains once they come out the fryer " He told her what his plans were for them.
Not long after that, Kahiau heard some barking outside and it was getting louder. 'I better not start cutting more poni radishes until I know what that barking is about.' The Kahuna thought before hearing a knock at the door."If I'm not mistaken, that sounds like the Rockruff that I gave to Dan earlier today. I'll get the door Dea," he said before leaving the kitchen and went into the living to the front door. Garchomp moved out the way and went to over to where Golisopod was sitting and began talking with him.
Then Kahiau unlocked the door and opened it to find Dan and the Rockruff with a few others standing there. "Alola Dan, Rockruff. I see that you found a friend since we talked earlier today. Alola and welcome to Poni Island young lady. Come on in and take a sit if you like. We're in the midst of getting supper ready for my sister's group of friends that are coming over. Once I'm done here though, I can take the two of you to my restaurant and fix us supper there if y'all hadn't had supper yet." Kahiau said to them as he went back over to the kitchen area. "Do either of you have any questions for me while I work on the poni radish burgers?" The island kahuna asked them while cutting up more poni radishes. The living room, dining room, and kitchen had an open floor plan so it was easy for conversations and interactions to flow.
Selene nodded her acknowledgement of her friend's words about the therapist. The ranger knew that she would need to contact her therapist soon since she knew Dr. Zemaitis would be trying to contact her for info. But there were things that weren't said that was understood between the two friends. Selene didn't want to go back down that slippery hole of hopelessness she fell into long ago that she almost died... Nor did she want Estelle to find her in that state again or anyone else for that matter. Question was though, would anyone tell Sly about that close call before she was ready for him to know? 'I don't want him to know yet and hope that no one tells him about that. I don't want to place anymore guilt on him than I already have... '
Then she grinned after Estella said that the happy couple had enough time alone. "Agreed but I rather not know if they did more than a sweet kiss though. I'm happy for them though, I want those two to be happy." She said before responding back to the other." I won't, and I wanted you to know the other though since you are my best friend." The Ranger said as they drew closer to Kahiau's house.
"I wouldn't have believed it either if I hadn't seen it and felt the pain myself. Might ask Dea about it later but we'll see. Hope Judge will be alright... No matter what that jerk is up to these days, he always takes great care of his pokemon." Selene said, remembering their time earlier today and how he had taken the revives that she had offered. Selene stopped walking and look back towards Poni Canyon. A sigh escaped her lips as her thoughts went back to Sylvester. "I wonder, will I ever be able to move on from him? I mean, I'm afraid that he'll always be my weakness, no matter what. Even if I was able to fall in love with someone else....." Selene began but she wasn't sure how to finish that line of thought. But she did know now that that Reckless Rhyhorn would be a weakness to her, no matter what happens after today's chance meeting.....

The emotional pendulum continued to swing. One moment the two girls where nearly giggling over Kahiau and Dea, the next, they were watching Sly's waves crash over Selene's future. Estelle remembered years ago, before Sly and Selene left Alola, The four of them - Sly, Slelene, Elio, and Estelle - were always together and it seemed they always would be. Now, Estelle wasn't sure what to hope for her friend. I know things can't just go back to the way they were before. Even if Sly did come back. It'd be great to see Selene find someone who can make her smile the way Sly used to, but it's also hard to see her being that close with any one else. Who knows, maybe there is some great guy out there that can make her forget all about Sly. Maybe next thing we know she'll be engaged and then with everyone else's relationships progressing, Elio will ask me to - Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself. Way ahead of myself. As all these thoughts spun through Estelle's head, all she could think to say to Selene was, "I hope you get your fairy tale ending one day, whatever it may be."
