Know your body's made to move, Feel it in your guts. Rock 'n' roll ain't worth the name, If it don't make you strut.
On your feet you feel the beat It goes straight to your spine Shake your head You must be dead If it don't make you fly.

She didn't want to hurt someone more than she had to. The scent around her started to fade after the connection had been broken. She shook her head, looking at Dom when he commented on not wanting to get blown up. She was in the same boat as him, but there were protocols.
She laughed softly when he finished by saying that he wanted to get shot instead. "I don't want to get yanked apart by a telekinetic. So I guess that makes us partners." She straightened, careful in the way that she put her glove into one of her pockets. One free hand would be safe, right? She made sure to position herself with her left side beside Dom. If anything happened had he had the impulse to grab her, it would be better to grab her left than her revealed right hand.
He continued on, voicing his cautiousness when it came to the others. She could understand that, though she did feel a bit burned by the comment. Her head bowed, though it didn't stop him from closing in closer to her. He wasn't alone anymore, she was there to keep him company. But if he was that worried about getting hurt by the abilities of his own teammates, then perhaps he should run for the hills now. "Sucks that you had me follow you then. At least they can shut theirs off." She didn't bother to hide the bitterness in her soft voice.
Her eyes were already on the ground, so when they swept to the stiff form that was on the ground. Dom gave the man a kick to the ribs, and she fought down the protest that started in her throat. He was already trapped in a prison, unable to move or speak. That was just cruel. Dom suggested really letting the thug have it, for his crimes, or for what he would do if given the opportunity, but Luci wasn't judge, jury, and executioner. And she certainly wouldn't use the abilities that she already hated to become something far worse.
He grabbed her wrist, guiding her before she could protest toward the fighting. He started talking about helping people. Really trying to help them. There would be more people trying to get away from the telekinetic. "If we go further in, we're bound to find more people trying to escape. And I am betting you can do more than just make people sick." She looked at him when he spoke, because honestly, she didn't. Sure, she could make someone stiff as a board, hallucinate. But ultimately, the only thing she could do was make people sick. He brought up making some kind of ointment or poultice, something to help. To heal. Yet he held onto her gloved wrist. She tugged at the grip. "I can't," she said, her voice cracking as she spoke. Now wasn't the time to be weak, it wasn't time to make a scene. But she truly could not help other than guiding the injured to safety.

Dominic had to consider her words carefully, had to consider his own words carefully. He could tell from their short meeting at the party and being here now that Luci wasn't one that thought very highly of herself or her abilities. That became even more evident when he felt the tug from her pulling against him. He didn't let her go but attempted to shift the grip he had on her to one that was feather light and reassuring. "Ah, pfft, psh." He made several vocal noises that played off the fact that she wasn't going to be healing anyone any time soon. "That's fine. We don't need our powers to help people. Pretty sure we don't, anyway. If we ran into any more of those thugs, it'd be nice to be able to...superhero them away. Is that a verb? Can I use that as a verb?"
He was talking a lot to try and take her mind off of her own predicament. It was true, though, that neither of them needed their powers to be useful. They just couldn't drop a building on a guy's head at a moment's notice. He always wondered what it was like to be able to pick up a semi truck or vibrate a thing into a million pieces.
"Hey, look up there. There might be a damsel in distress." He pointed up towards a shape in the street. "Or a mailbox."

She played off her concerns, his touch adjusting to something a bit more gentle. Her eyes were on the ground when he really spoke again, saying that they didn't have to heal anyone. But they could still help. Getting them to safety was helping. He continued on, "If we ran into any more of those thugs, it'd be nice to be able to...superhero them away. Is that a verb? Can I use that as a verb?" She brought her hand up to cover her mouth, hiding the smile that formed on her lips. Her laugh was light. They shouldn't be laughing, but he really was trying to make her feel better. She could see that.
"I'm sure it is now," she commented, her hand dropping to her side as she finally got up the courage to move. "We will figure something out." If they worked together, there was a good chance that they would find a way to make their powers benefit the situation. They just had to think. It was the easiest thing to handle.
Her eyes went up when he pointed toward the shape down the street. Her eyes studying it with careful skepticism. "We should be careful either way." She looked to him before moving down the street. If they could get a good handle on any civilians, it would be best to get them off the streets. That is till the world boomed with a clap louder than any thunder she ever heard. Like the heart of a storm fell on top of their heads.
The vibration felt like it started in her bones. It was loud and sudden, though she knew that Aftershock and Reverb were going to be causing a distraction, she wasn't entirely sure she knew what that meant. She did now. Her feet stopped moving when the world started rattling. Her body jumping as windows rattled in their frames before shattering. Glass rained down into the streets, breaking further. Well, she hoped whoever they rescued had shoes.
When they rattling stopped, the screams could be heard. The sounds of babies, children scared and desperately clinging to their parents. The sounds of surprise and concern. It was a hell of a noise. She looked to Dom, "We need to get these people out of here and fast." It was obvious, but without thinking for her own concerns, every worry that she had was gone as she tried doors that lined the streets. If they needed to start sweeping buildings then she would. People would likely be pouring into the streets now that it was painfully obvious that it was no longer safe.

Dominic hadn't really stuck around in the beginning to hear what the others were doing so the suddenness of the shock was a surprise to him. "Jesus Christ," he said while holding onto a nearby lamp post. "Was that our side or them?" He thought about it and wouldn't put it past the rest of his fellow students to be causing some collateral damage. They were very careless. But if that meant that he wasn't going to get blown up, then they could level the whole city block if they wanted. Provided that no one was inside the buildings when they did. When he noticed that Luci wasn't all that phased by it, he figured that she knew something that he did not and followed her lead.
"I don't want to be in one of these buildings if that happens again." He looked at Luci. "I can't really do this unless I have someone to focus on. If we want to get this done faster and with as few casualties as possible, you're probably going to be the one that needs to go inside." All around her, several replications appeared. They flickered for a moment before appearing solid. If anyone were actually going to touch them, they'd feel like nothing but the air around them. "I can see them, you can see them, and I think I can get other people to see them. I am not sure how far I can get them to be apart from you, but if I focus enough, they should be able to act autonomously as long as you keep thinking about getting people out of these buildings."
He looked around at how many buildings there were, cursing the fact that they were in a densely-populated city as opposed to a cute country town. "Oh, and don't think of anything else, okay? I'm not really sure what will happen." He tried to hide the anxiety of the fact behind a smile.

After arriving on the scene and the lovely little conversation with the police, the group began to work on a plan. While she was normally not so unsure of herself, Daylia had taken a back seat for a moment, listening to the plans that the others had thrown out, most of witch involved bullets against someone who was virtually bulletproof. After some debate and input from Gracie, they had settled on Aurelie and Daylia taking in the two boys, Marcel and August, and protecting them.
Daylia’s blue-gray orbs found Aurelie as a small smile found its way to her lips. "That I am cool with. It’s pretty much what my power is geared for." She said to the blonde. And while yeah, the power allowed her to get up close and personal with people without them knowing, she didn’t have the brute force needed to fight someone like the mutant they were after. Of course, Aurelie’s was a little more diverse. "We just need to stay safe ourselves too." She added.
After a few more words from everyone, it was time to enact the ever so carefully crafted plan. Daylia listened to Marcel and August’s exchanged words. It was hard not to roll her eyes at the pair, but her patience was beginning to wear thin. They needed to get a move on, plus there would be plenty of time for them to flirt later. They both had different responses to her pointing out the flirting though. She looked from August to Marcel before closing her eyes and pinching the bridge of her nose. A low sigh escaped her. "One is shameless, the other wants to play clueless. Cool." She said as the pair walked off.
As Daylia prepped her power, she gave Marcel the rundown of the do nots and try nots. Most of them were simple, hopefully, she wouldn’t have to repeat herself, and more importantly, hopefully, the kid would actually listen. She would like to get out of this situation without being blamed for the water manipulator getting hurt. He repeated the facts back to her, and she nodded. "You got that much, now we just gotta see if you’re as good at following instructions as you are at repeating them. We don’t want you getting stuck in a wall, or becoming target number one if you let go."
While she seemed to be sure of herself on the outside, Daylia was worried on the inside. She hated taking herself through solid objects, let alone being responsible for someone else. If she killed herself, it was fine, but if she caused someone else to die… That was another story completely. Daylia took up post behind him, mainly so that he couldn’t see her face and question any escaping emotions as she activated her power on both of them.
With her hands on his shoulders, color began to spread like ink drops in water from the contact point. The colors of their surrounding rippling over their skin and clothes before finally coming to rest. The feeling that came with the power was hardly felt by Daylia herself anymore, but she was told it felt like pins and needles to some. Like that feeling you get when your arm or leg falls asleep, or that it feels like what a static tv looks like, though not quite as severe.
With them successfully hidden from the world, Daylia readjusted herself, her right hand trailing over Marcel's shoulders and down his arm before settling into the crook, leaving them linked together. She gave him the ‘let's go’ and he gave her an uneasy unsure ‘right.’
"Relax, everything is going to be fine." She whispered as she tugged lightly on his arm. He was trailing behind slightly, causing her to adjust her walking speed so that they wouldn’t accidentally lose contact of one another. "This is the easy part." Of course, most of this was going to be the easy part for him, at least until they actually got into the building.
She walked in silence for a bit, guiding him towards the back of the building. Most found it difficult to maneuver themselves when they couldn’t actually see where their body parts were. It was almost like being blindfolded, or so she had been told. Having had the power for such a long time, it was second nature to her now. It had improved her spacial awareness quite a bit.
Once she was sure they were on the opposite side of the building from everyone else, she pulled her partner to a stop. A frown crossed her invisible lips as her neck craned around her, looking for a window or something that wasn’t boarded up. Unfortunately, there was no clear vantage point from where they currently stood. "Alright, I’m gonna take a quick peek inside, just to see how many we’re dealing with." She whispered as she pulled Monsoon closer towards the wall. Her hand slipped down a little further before grabbing onto his wrist. "I’m not gonna let go, but don’t move." She said, before careful to keep her voice low.
With a deep breath and a quick prayer to anyone listening up there, Daylia called upon the second part of her power. Trying not to second guess herself, she slowly stuck the upper half of her body into the building. The walls were not as thick as she thought they’d be. That much was a good sign. She held her breath as she looked around. Seven thugs in total occupied the bottom floor. All but two or three held a gun. It didn’t take long for her eyes to find the man they were here to take down.
"Let ‘em come in. I’ll take the whole building down on top of ‘em. ********’ pigs." The rock mutant said. "I’m sure the boss’ll love that." He said, boasting to those around him.
Daylia pulled herself back out and shook her head as she released the breath she had been holding. She whispered as she moved her hand back to the crook of Monsoons elbow. With a few quick movements, she had her com raised to her mouth, taking care to turn her own volume down before radioing The Rest Of The Team. "Alright... There are seven inside on the bottom floor, including rock boy. He mentioned something about being able to take down the whole building. I think he may have been standing by a load-bearing beam or something."
She paused for a moment. "We’re gonna have to strike fast and hard. Four or five of them are prepped with guns. I don’t know what the others might have. You got sixty seconds to respond before we go in on radio silence so we’re not detected."
They waited out the sixty seconds, giving anyone a chance to respond if needed. With any last minute s**t out of the way, Daylia moved behind Monsoon again, both of her hands back on his shoulders. "Alright, once we’re inside, we can’t talk. So anything you need to ask, ask now. We’re about to go balls deep."

Roland Anton Chevalier Location: Combat Thoughts: Change of task He stood there, preparing to go in and perform triage on the wounded. Though in truth he was far more likely to start moving people out of the zone and get them to medical treatment as soon as possible. Triage only went so far, and given what he knew about this target, it didn’t seem like a good idea to leave potential victims alone for him to get his hands on them. His bare hand gently pressed on the brick as he contemplated moving in. -MeanwhileThere simply weren’t enough to be able to file everyone along the wall out safely - even with Alice planning on a world class distraction. Sifting through names in his head, he landed on one in particular… one that could take a hit if it came to it. Roland. “Rampage, I know you wanted to help triage, but I think we’ll need you down here. There’s more hostages than anticipated.”With a nod he tapped his comm “Understood.” and with smooth movements he made his way forward. Motioning for Randal, the space cadet he interacted with the night before, he made his way through to the fray. It didn’t take long for him to figure out where he needed to go, the screams told the story. He walked with caution, feeling naked without a rifle in hand. This was the kind of territory he and his fellow Rangers worked, urban environments, heavy resistance. All that was missing was the desert climate. Taking a second, he motioned for the fire escape. A small jump up he grabbed the ladder and pulled down as quietly as one could. With long arms he climbed up, hoping that Randal would follow suit. He finally made his way to the rooftop and moved quickly towards the sounds of danger. Turning back to Randal he asked him with some sincerity “Nervous?”“Nothing wrong with that, to be straight with you. In fact if you weren’t nervous I’d think you either crazy or incredibly stupid.” he said, his voice calm in it’s tone. He was tempted to start doing hand signs, but the Ranger realized that all that would result in was Randal being thoroughly confused. Finally reaching a corner where the screams were at their loudest, he peered out and took in the scene. He saw the officer in the air, hoisted up in an invisible crucifiction. The eight hostages held at gunpoint, several gang members were armed and ready to pull the trigger. Looking to Randal he keyed into his comm “Rampage to Amarillo, I am above the area.” His armor began to form over his body, with sharp claws forming across the catcher’s mitts he called his hands. Looking around, he saw that there was a rooftop garden. Taking a second, he felt the building beneath him rumble, the sound of glass shattering a familiar one. Heavy weapon fire going through windows, it was like a symphony of chaos. “Randal, I’m going to jump down and get into a fight. I don’t know how good you are with your abilities, but if you can make some vegetation into ropes to get the hostages out, we might be able to get out of here without bringing down a building.” he said to the young mutant. “Rampage to Amarillo, I am going to be causing a very violent distraction. This will undoubtedly draw the attention of this… psychopath and put me in a bit of a bind.” he said into his communicator. “Take the opportunity as best you can. I have Scooby with me, he might be able to get a hostage or two out via the rooftop.”Taking to the side of the building, he took a now empowered claw and dug it into the brick. He’d only done this once before, not this high, and he may have been three bottles of tequila in. But that was then, and this was now. He leaped over and began to slide, his clawed fingers acting as an anchor into the wall, letting him slide down at a semi-controlled rate. It took only a few seconds, but he managed to make it down four stories. Taking only a second to recover, he moved towards the now suddenly surprised gunman in a flash. There were four of them, standing relatively close to one another, this just made things easier for him. Legs pumped with blood and adrenaline as he clotheslined the first opponent. He felt the bones in his collar shatter as his forearm caught him in the upper chest, he heard the sound of ribs cracking as he slammed into the pavement. With a smooth movement he grabbed the hand of the second gunman, that grasped a pistol as he tried to point it at him. His fingers were like five vices, cracking the radius and ulna with the ease of an egg. But broken bones certainly didn’t stop muscle movement, afterall your arm doesn’t need to work to pull a trigger. Without hesitation, he did a dance and moved the now broken arm towards another of the gunman. Roland was careful with how he aimed, the single round catching the third gunman in the shoulder. He moved with purpose on the final gunman, bringing himself down low as he brought a knee up into the man’s chest. Chances are, he was likely to have the wind knocked out of him, and with any luck a few teeth and ribs shattered. Turning towards the telekinetic, he felt a blade form in his hand as his body soon quickly froze in place. “s**t” he muttered. “Now, now, now, you’re being rather rude.” the telekinetic said, making a conductor like gesture, forcing his arms out, and his legs to spread. “You’re a big ******** aren’t you?”“I’m going to have...” he uttered, as a glint of madness formed in his eye, as Roland felt pressure across his body, the mutant approaching him, his slender fingers dancing across his rib cage as he felt them bend and flex unnaturally inside him, he finished his sentence with a whisper into his ear, “... so much fun with you.”The next thing Roland heard was the sound of the frontal bone of his left eye break, the pain exploded in his face as his bound body was to become a new canvas of pain. OOC: Let me know if there are any problems!

“ Definitely.” The Georgia belle bobbed her head along with the sentiment that they’d need a round two for snacks. Plopping down on their futon, her features crinkled with disgust as Gordon Ramsey held up a mouse by its tail. “ Always. Every single episode.” Certain that Gordon would make her cry within ten seconds of knowing him, she sighed contentedly when the show settled down and Gordon started showing how a recipe should be prepared. “ Man… I just want a man to ravish me the way he does his food.” She said, popping another chip into her mouth. “ Just look at that dedication to getting the job done right.” Quirking up one eyebrow, she grinned puckishly. “ I’m pretty sure he wants to make love to his food.” Their marathon continued until Professor Xavier brought it to a screeching halt by calling them out to lead a team in New York. Immediately the brunette started hyperventilating at the idea of leaving the safe haven of the mansion. The mere prospect of abandoning the protection that the X-men provided her from her husband. “ It’s a risk.” She whispered, a single tear rolling down her cheek when Daylia tried to assuage her fears. “ If he gets me… Slowly, she rose her hazel gaze to meet her best friend’s. “ Put a bullet in me.” -New York- The cops were less than friendly as they briefed the team on the lowdown. Keeping her voice as saccharine as her grandma’s sweet tea, she dropped the facade as soon as she turned to face the team. Daylia muttered an expletive and Gracie didn’t fault her for it. The guy was an a*****e. Before Gracie could formulate a plan, everyone started pitching their own ideas. Taking what she could use, she gently turned down the ones that weren’t plausible. Taking the time to remind them that nonlethal rounds were paramount to help their image, Daylia made it clear that she didn’t want them to get their makeshift team captains in trouble for being careless, killing civilians or getting themselves killed in the process. Once they went over who would do what, Daylia nodded with the idea. Between her, Monsoon, Jedi and Cabriole, they seemed to have a solid plan to bring the massive rock man down. Daylia had an extra duty - to take out all communications from within the gang’s hold. Asking her bestie to be careful, she turned to the people who were left to clearing the streets. “ Alright, let’s move out.” She made a quip back to Darius when he said to watch their backs, but he seemed all business now. So much for breaking the tension. Focusing on a vague idea of surveillance, Gracie drew a breath and pointed directly in front of her. The powers that be seemed to smile on her, giving her slow motion super hearing momentarily. Unaccustomed to the sensation, she fell to her knees, wincing in pain but delivered what she needed to her part of the team. Giving Siege and Wraith directions for one building, she gave another set to Darius and June. They all split off in their own directions, and her palms hit the ground as she heaved a breath, her hearing still sensitive enough that she could hear a fly’s wings flapping against each other. June asked why she hadn’t just given them left or right instead of west. Touching her comm, she choked back a dry heave before answering the question she knew she wasn’t meant to hear. “ Because I didn’t know which way you’re facing.” Her voice threaded with as much amusement as she could muster. “ But away from the gunfire.” So far at least. “ That didn’t come with this round of luck.” Not that she’d wanted it; rather, she’d have preferred some sort of immunity so that she could listen without feeling like her brain was melting. That would have been far more helpful. Siege and Wraith took their own point from her directions, dodging into the building with people inside. “ Please..” She coughed. “ Be careful.” Because they were inside, she wouldn’t be able to actually see how they planned to tackle their objective. Instead, her fingertips dug against the asphalt as she tried to ride the sounds, listening to know they’d be alright. But it was all she could do not to collapse from the pain splitting between her ears. She could hear the gunman’s panic as they faced the shadows, and she held a ragged breath, trying to listen for Siege’s own movements. She lost it though when Daylia’s transmission came through. "Alright... There are seven inside on the bottom floor, including rock boy. He mentioned something about being able to take down the whole building. I think he may have been standing by a load-bearing beam or something." She paused for a moment. "We’re gonna have to strike fast and hard. Four or five of them are prepped with guns. I don’t know what the others might have. You got sixty seconds to respond before we go in on radio silence so we’re not detected." Rubbing her temples, Gracie relaxed as the hearing subsided back to her own, ordinary levels. She almost felt deaf from the difference. “ Our side is split. I’ll try to get Plague and Rebound headed toward you ASAP, but Wraith and Siege are working at taking down the gunners..” She’d meet up with them, as soon as she could muster the ability to stand without puking. Even without super hearing, she heard a shot. Please don’t let that have landed anywhere soft… No doubt the two already dealing with gunmen were better equipped to deal with more gunmen than a man who could take multiple hits and come back, and a girl with disease ridden powers… but it was all they had for now. “ Plague, Rebound… we’ll need to pedal out the innocents faster. There are more gunmen in Chameleon’s area, and she’s requesting back-up.” Pushing herself up, she grunted audibly from the effort. The world whirred around her, and it took her more than a few seconds to regain her bearings. “ Someone remind me that I’m not meant for surveillance help from the hex bolts without being specific next time.” She muttered, more to herself than to anyone who might have been listening.

Location: On location, treated like a perp With: The nice hefty team clad in Purple Thoughts: I'm thinking a lot right now. I feel like a squirrel. Clueless? Marcel could note the hint of sarcasm amid amorous banters, but if Daylia knew the absolute truth, it was that Marcel was more often than not the obliviously naive buffoon in regards to affection. One thing he was quite craftily imaginative at however was strategy and execution. The all age old tale of someone with hefty book smarts, but not enough street lingo. Stick around with a kid from the sewers who had nothing but time to read and she would see it clear as day. Marcel went right along with her, following her set of rules down to a T without her having to worry for the most part. Not even the prickly feeling against his skin would get him to let go, no matter how much it stifled a hushed ticklish laugh from his thick lips.
There they were, out and away from the rest, on the other side of the building. Marcel could consider that a plan gone accordingly well for the most part. Perhaps everything else might go as smooth, but he was a man of prudent science, not statistics, ironic to say or think. That meant Marcel preferred to test things with his knowledge and see if it actually happened, all things considering that this was not the Danger Room, where different methodology of intelligent queries could be solved at the expense of not dying. As a result, he had no qualms with Chameleon going in to investigate. She by all means had the powers to stealthily investigate up close and personal. In some foreboding truths, so did Marcel. While it was not quite compared to having an actual bodily presence there to witness the situation unfold, Marcel could manipulate the water molecules very thinly enough to get a feel of everything and everyone in the room, from a panicking rat fleeing to its hole down to the rowdy gang members and of course, Daylia herself as one could say she was between a rock and a hard place. There was no surprise for him other than what was said from their lips as he went radio silent. The lowly gang members with their literal rock were men and women on a mission. If all failed, their last resort came in taking the place down with them. Quick and Effective was the game plan, and well, now it was time to speak in the allotted time frame.
"Mayhaps we play to their paranoia while contending to their heavy hitter," he announced with a hand resting underneath his chin as if he were deep in thought. "Wraith's suggestion is also something to keep in mind with still flooding the place rather instantly. I mean, why let him think capsizing the place is an advantage when I can oblige it in a way he doesn't see?"
Marcel was suggesting to ruin their tactic by giving them what they wanted, only, by flooding the place instead. Reckless, quite, and yet effective. It would solve the gun problems and send the Fred's Family Discount Ben Grimm right out with them. From there, the hassle of keeping the rest of the infrastructure stable by using the water as a pressure point until help could be provided was the end goal and neither of them would ever have to worry about if it were more than guns these people had up their arsenal for they would be washed away for the rest of the team to contend with. The drawback was that it would take time to draw water pressure all in one place, however Marcel could also play to their stealth trope too in the remaining seconds they had to discuss.
"Alternatively, we can follow suit with the fear tactic I suggested and pick each of them off in hopes it doesn't draw attention. I can't guarantee if that might instill enough fear into lumberjack's mind to veer away from the beam than he's already at, but pulling water molecules from the air and the infrastructure of the building too means I can handle at least more than two targets while possibly isolating yours truly with enough water that makes his body unable to effectively hit the beam. Two different scenarios that should more or less lead to the same outcome, not counting what the rest of the Team is opting to perform."

“Because I didn’t know which way you’re facing. But away from the gunfire.”
Well... s**t. She totally didn't expect Gracie to hear that. A glimmer of surprise crossed her features before she cracked a playful smile and spoke into her comm. "Guess I should thank you then, babe. I very much prefer not to be turned into Swiss cheese." She had no clue how Gracie's power actually worked... only that it did funny things. But superhearing was definitely something she didn't expect from the hex manipulator.
Turning her attention back to her yummy partner, she gave a quick introduction. June chuckled at his reaction to her power. "Savage? Well, that's a first. Usually people think it's icky. They think I'm going to give them gonorrhea or something." Not that she couldn't but there were so many other things she could do that were far less disgusting.
"Don't worry, partner. You're safe." Her expression turned playful upon hearing what he could do. "Oh? So you keep coming back round after round? That's impressive. You must have really good stamina." June did nothing to hide her flirtatious mood. Just because they were on a mission didn't mean she couldn't have any fun.
Her eyes followed Rebound's finger to a nearby shopping complex. She could already see some terrified people barricading themselves behind whatever they could find. "Helping random fools. That's totes my fave hobby," She said with a joking tone. Nothing about this task seemed easy. Terrified humans had a tendency to avoid help from nice, friendly mutants. And June, as always, had no plan of action.
"Alrighty, Rebound, ready to -" Whatever she was about to say was cut off by a message from Chameleon... followed by a message from Jinx asking them to hurry the ******** up. <********. Ok. Uh... assuming those stores over there are safe from getting blown to bits, we should probably pile the randos in one store... or, like, herd them to another place. Like... somehow get them to get their asses as far away as possible." June wasn't the best at planning. In fact, she was pretty awful when it came to strategies.
"I mean, I could always make them all super sick but that's probably not going to help. You got any ideas?" The blonde was already nearing one of the stores, quickly glancing inside to see how many people they had to deal with.

xxxxxxxxxDon't you know too much already xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI'll only hurt you if you let me xxxxxxxxCall me friend but keep me closer xxxxxxxxxxxxAnd I'll call you when the party's over xxxQuiet when I'm coming home and I'm on my own xxxAnd I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that xxxxxxxxxxLocation: On Mission /// Company: Chuck It was downright exhilarating. The way she held her head high as they walked into the field. Not a single expression of fear on her face. She lived for this s**t. Still, she didn't want to talk. Not to anyone, especially not to Chuck. She wasn't nearly as angry anymore as she had been. It was a miracle really that she didn't take her rage out on the mansion that night. But she was just drunk enough to have it ******** with her powers on top of the negation device that she wore.
Her eyes went to Chuck, who wasn't quite ready to just shut up and shelf it for now. She rolled her eyes, "I know what I'm doing," she bit back. She had a handle on her emotions, on her powers. She didn't need him telling her what to do. She knew the consequences better than anyone if she ******** up. It looked a lot like crushed lockers and blood.
Chuck spoke his support regardless and Alice stayed quiet. She stepped into the roll of a leader like slipping into the ocean during a storm. She felt it crashing against her body, threatening to yank her off her feet. But it felt cool on her skin. She tightened up, telling Chuck what to do, just like they had practiced. Finally, she squared up and let loose a wave that was strong enough to shake the very foundations of the buildings that decorated the alleyway.
Chuck was quick on the draw, ready to take that force and convert it. He caught it before the wave traveled too far and the sound that followed marveled a thousand claps of thunder at once. The windows lining the alley shattered in their frames and rained glass down like diamonds.
Chuck dropped when his powers forced him to his knees in exhilaration. She laughed like a madwoman. Looking over at him, it was easy to forget all the qualms she had. Finally, she reached her hand out to Chuck. "We'll have company soon."
The sound certainly had sent chatter among the gang members and their psychotic little weapon. The telekinetic sent a handful of men to check out where the noise had come from, and like children, they were running down the alleyway. Their footsteps didn't echo nearly as easily now that there were no windows for the sound to bounce off of.
Once Chuck was back on his feet. she could hear the sounds of footsteps approaching. She looked down towards the end of the alley, seeing shadows dancing on the walls as a few thugs, carrying lord only knows what, made their descent down the alley. She motioned for Chuck to look before she moved to get behind a dumpster for better cover. She could do a lot of s**t with her powers, but stopping a potential bullet wasn't one of them. She motioned for Chuck to do the same. She wasn't above getting the jump on these guys.

She had to. She made a point to try to learn the abilities of everyone that she interacted with. Everyone on her team especially. When the information had been sent over before the mission, she took the time to study it. She had to know, to understand, and to not be afraid. Fear was an easy emotion to manipulate, and her powers could spiral out of control if fear grabbed hold of her.
"My guess would be Alice. Maybe someone else. But definitely our side." She had to trust in her team, even though it was hard to trust these people fully when she heard the panic that followed. The cries of frighten children and mothers, men outraged at the sudden sound. She looked to Dominic and nodded, she had more faith in the team than he did. But she understood his skepticism.
She looked to Dom when he declared that he needed a primary focal point. A focus. She nodded, "Okay. I can do that." She glanced out of the corners of her eyes, her head moving just slightly as replicas of her teammate appeared. They flickered before becoming solid. "Okay.... okay." She had to focus. It was interesting, seeing Dom's power at work. She looked to one of the buildings where she could hear the cries of small children inside, surely frightened and clinging to their parents. "The sooner we get people out of there, the sooner we can go home." She put all of her power into thinking of helping those children, those frightened people inside.
She looked to Dom when he made a point to not focus on anything else, for the sake of insecurity over what would happen. She nodded, "Yeah... Wish me luck..." She glanced at Dom one last time before moving toward the door of the apartment, pushing her way inside as the duplicates followed. With every step, her mind repeated over and over, Get people out. Get them to safety. One floor at a time. Get people out.
The first door she reached she started banging on, calling to anyone who may be inside. Door after door that she took on her own, she called to those inside, telling them that were police outside, that there was safety. It wasn't safe inside. They needed to get out. It was hard not to use the word mutant. She didn't want more people to hate them. But the telekinetic was unpredictable, and the violence was more than just from mutants. There were guns and bats and pipes wielded by human hands as well. She didn't want them to have more hostages to bargain with.

Location: Rock-dude Though she didn’t say it out loud, not having the familiarity of her roommate for her part of the assignment bummed her out a bit. But with a power as versatile as telekinesis for long range attacks… her purpose was best served out manning the manic mutant. “Only save the cute ones, okay?” She joked to June.
The team split into two, and Daylia’s side grouped together to figure out their plan of action. Rather than everyone going in at the same point of entry, she wanted them to divide once more so that they could corner the man. It made sense to her. “There are far less amazing cultures to emulate, I think.” Aurelie said to the leader as a soft smile painted itself onto her lips. The nature of the Norse traditions were something to look up to in comparison to how women were treated elsewhere in the world. Daylia agreed, going on to say that her mutation was geared for this sort of thing, and the would-be ballerina’s smile widened. “Yeah, your ability would make you the perfect spy. Or cat burglar if you ever decided to walk on the dark side.”
Lacking confidence in her own ability to fight, the blond was happy to allow the boys to do the heavy lifting for the fights. She’d never really gotten into a physical altercation before, so playing shield maiden suited her just fine. Bobbing her head once in response to keeping themselves safe. “I intend to. No doubt Elixir doesn’t me bogging down his day when we get back.”
Too new to the field to be a strategist, she mostly listened as everyone else gave their input as to how to tackle their stony adversary. Marcel and Auguste exchanged a few glib pairs, garnering an exasperated eye roll from their team captain. Instructing them to keep the flirting to a minimum, their different reactions to the criticism tugged at the corners of her lips. Shrugging at Daylia’s observation, Aurelie shook her head. “Men.”
Splitting off into different directions, Aurelie circled August and herself with an invisible bubble, the motion almost reflex as they walked headlong into the danger zone. She only stopped when Merrick bounced up to them, introducing himself and throwing some what she assumed to be Gaelic at them. Repeating the man’s description, confusion mottled her features as her mouth formed the word, “Gobshite.” As he explained it, a tinge of pink swirled in her cheeks. She should have been able to work that out on her own. Sheepishly, she nodded, her blue eyes mixed with embarrassment and a bit of awe. Nothing in her own community had left her with a sense of pride that he so obviously felt for his clan. “Well, hopefully they won’t be coming for your flesh or I’ve done my job wrong.” She said with a wink. “Though I gotta say… with your hammer… you might be able to give Thor a run for his money. I came unarmed...” Now she definitely felt inadequate. From everyone on their team not realizing her potential usefulness as a telekinetic when making the game plan, to now coming woefully unprepared to do battle…
What was she even doing here?
August was kind to their newcomer, but mentioned stealth as the key, citing that they needn’t ware her abilities out before they got started but the telekinetic waved the thought of that off with a dismissive gesture of her hand. “I’ll be fine, really. I might not have weapons or be super flashy, but endurance is kind of my thing.” The blond assured them, not wanting to appear as frail as she felt. August instructed her to yank him if she needed him and she nodded. “Trust me, I’ll let you know if I need some help back here.”
Following August and Merrick up toward the window, she slipped through as easily as a song bird took flight on a sunny day. While the boys might have been excited to rush in when the building started to rumble, her own heart echoed the sounds with a trickle of fear. This was much different than all the simulations she had ever been a part of… That they weren’t in a controlled environment, with a safety net and assurance that no ill would come to them… She wished James were here to give her a pep talk. He’d always been so good at doing so when they were training together. Sucking in a breath, she steeled her nerves and followed her teammates.
It was shortly after that Daylia’s broadcast whispered in her ear, giving an update on what they were looking at. Seven on the bottom floor, including the mutant that had the cops in such a panic. Four or five with guns. Sixty seconds. Glancing over at the two men with her, her blue eyes deepened in color as she peered over the edge to confirm what Daylia was reporting. Motioning with her hands, she pointed Merrick toward the men with guns. If they worked together, quickly… they’d be able to rip the firearms out of their hands before they really knew what was going on.
“Chameleon, we’re standing ready. Our Scottsman and I can handle the guns. Jedi and Monsoon attack Mount Rushmore together? Jedi hold him down, Monsoon keep him under water til he passes out?” She whispered. Tucking a stray strand of blond hair behind her hair, she tilted her head, the motion silently asking if the boys thought this was alright.

xxxxxxxxxTake the blade away from me xxxxxI am a freak, I am afraid that xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAll the blood escaping me won't end the pain xxxxxxxxAnd I'll be haunting all the lives that cared cared for me xxxxxxxxxxxxI died to be the white ghost xxxOf the man that I was meant to be xxxxxxxxxxLocation: Mission - Geo/// Company: Aurelia, Merrick August was the first to pull himself up into the window that had been left open. He made sure it was clear on silently feet before motioning the other two to follow. Merrick was short behind him, lifting himself up into the window followed by Aurelia. Good, they could all pull and push themselves as needed, in one way or another. That meant that they could plan something a bit more solid since he understood better what the abilities of his teammates were. Though, Aurelia’s were pretty straightforward. Once inside, August made his way through the area before a com call came through from Daylia. He paused, looking to his teammates as she spoke.
"Alright... There are seven inside on the bottom floor, including rock boy. He mentioned something about being able to take down the whole building. I think he may have been standing by a load-bearing beam or something. We’re gonna have to strike fast and hard. Four or five of them are prepped with guns. I don’t know what the others might have. You got sixty seconds to respond before we go in on radio silence so we’re not detected.”
Aurelia was the first to respond, and August agreed with her plan. Her and Merrick handle the guns, he can take care of the mountain with the help of Marcel. It was a good plan. He pressed his finger into the com, “Roger.” He his finger away from the button before moving close to where Aurelia was looking down at the scene below them. It gave them a good visual confirmation of what Daylia had been saying. “Okay, if ya'll take out the guns, I can shake him up before droppin' him. I just need those guns gone first. If he starts barkin' orders, I can’t split my focus.”
Quietly, August climbed up onto the railing, balancing before he turned down his radio. He looked to Aurelia and Merrick. “Ready?” He waited for confirmation before he fell forward, gravity switching the way it affected his body, allowing him to float. He needed them to move first. Not much faster, just by a heartbeat. He timed it when guns were being tugged. His hand lashed out at the mountain, an invisible bubble forming around him and turning his world upside down. Gravity reversed, living him off his feet before slamming him down onto his back.
August dropped faster than the fall of gravity, landing on the chest of the giant. His hands held down at his sides, pushing down on an invisible force as the floor beneath them groaned and argued with the assault. “Sorry to interrupt, darlin’.” His feet pushed with the gravitational intensity found on Jupiter, and it simply continued to increase. The weight of the mountain made the force affect him much more than August. And, August was used to the weight. The way it made him feel. He continued to push, little tension cracks forming around his feet as he increased the push. He just needed Marcel to do his part now, to water board the guy into unconsciousness.
He could feel the fight happening beneath him. The giant was trying his damnedest to fight August’s weight off. His shoulders heaved through gritted teeth, fingers stretching and tapping as he fought with all his strength and August increased the pressure. Another crack made the giant yell out. “I’m gonna ********’ kill ya!” August smiled at the monster beneath his feet, “Sorry, Sugar, I can’t do that.” Curses and threats started spilling between strained teeth as the rock giant tried to fight the gravity weighing him down.

Randal nodded as Blake responded to his comment. It was sad and true for the moment. He wasn’t sure if he really had the stomach for these kinds of things. His power wasn’t like the others, and he found it difficult at that moment to figure out just what he could actually help with, so when they were looking for people to help evac the surrounding builds his hand naturally shot up.
A few questions tumbled from his mouth, not that he doubted their leader, it was just that he didn’t quite understand it. He nodded again grasping just why some people wouldn’t be safe in their apartments. "Got it." It also gave him an invisible line around the scene to get the people.
A few others had elected ho help with the medical care as Randal began making his way towards the group that was to help evacuating people. However before he could actually begin, his code name echoed over his comm, causing his stomach to knot. He fumbled with the device attached to his wrist and responded. "I-uh-yeah. Roger." He said fumbling with his words just as much. "I’m, I’m doubling back." There was no confidence in his voice as he turned around.
He knew what the x-men did on the daily, he knew they risked their lives, but he hadn’t expected the junior members to be sent on a mission quite like this right out the gate. As he made his walk back to meet up with Blake he fumbled around with the bags hanging from his belt, knowing that for reach her would need the seeds for vines. Thickers ones probably. "I gotta remember to label these later." He muttered to himself before his paranoid brain added if there is a later. The thought caused his stomach to flip once more.
His eyes darted up and met with Rolands as the larger man was gesturing him over. He nodded and pulled out about six seeds to hold in his palm before following the burly guy. He stuck close to Rampage, allowing the man to pick out their path. Each scream made his stomach clench, something that must have been echoed on his face.
His brows came together at Roland’s question. "Am I not supposed to be?" He retorted as his free hand flexed with the next set of screams. He blinked as the hulk continued. He was probably trying to make Randal feel better, but words in this situation would only go so far. Nervous laughter bubbled up as he shook his head. "Yeah, well, I’ve already been accused of being both so."
As they got closer, the screams turned his blood to ice, and his stomach threatened to revolt. Randal didn’t have much else to add, so instead, he tried to focus as much energy on not throwing up as he could. Don’t throw up, don’t throw up, don’t throw up. He mentally repeated the mantra, as if it would actually help him in some way.
Rampage radioed Amarillo, letting their leaders know their position. Wide eyes blinked as the man turned back to address him once more, laying out some sort of plan. The second Randal heard the words vegetation and rope, his hands came together. He could feel the life within the seeds as he twisted his hands. He urged them to sprout, adding some of his own energy and vitality to them, and within seconds he could feel them wriggle out the side of his hand. Another few moments later he held two braided ropes made from vines, the other ends coiling at his feet as they continued to grow longer.
"I-I uh, might need a minute or two before they’re long enough." He said sheepishly. The roots of the plants wrapped themselves around his hands, searching for something to sink down into. The vines themselves were exotic looking and thick. In Randal's mind, having three braided together for each rope should give them enough strength to lift possibly two people at once.
Randal didn’t care for the part of the plan where Roland placed himself in direct danger, but with no other suggestions, he simply kept his mouth shut. Another roll of nerves made his mouth water and his stomach flip as he watched the man make his decent in.
Don’t blow it, don’t blow it. His mind repeated at him, not at all helpful for the nerves he felt. He felt the building rumble again, though this time the man sent away some of his men, leaving two focused on the hostages. Randa’s eyes left Roland, as he turned his focus to getting people out. The armored covered man had drawn the gunmen's attention away from the hostages long enough for him to lower the vines.
He twisted his right hand, causing the braided vined to lash out at the gunmen's knees, knocking them off balance towards one another. He gripped the vine, his knuckles turning white as he shifted the movement of his wrist into a fast spiral motion, effectively causing the vine to wrap around the men, pressing them together harder as he tried to make sure they were unable to move or fire at the people lined up.
As he worked his right hand, he also worked the left, using spiral motion from the beginning. He squished two of the hostages together, though not nearly as hard as the bad guys and began lifting them into the air towards him.
