Look you just ******** up again. Nice going he said to himself as he watched Victoria leave him as if he was a monster. Nothing could solve this or show that he was not always dangerous. It seemed to him that every time something was going good it would turn for the worse. His anger always got the best of him and it always will. When Dante fight's someone he thinks of Alex. He thinks about how his friend died in his hand because of some punk. The same type of punk that picked on him and his friends. The same kind of punk that he just half killed. He looked at every person that was like this as if he was the same person who killed Alex. Heck the could end up being the killers friend for all he knew. By looking at them in this manner it caused Dante to just explode. Explode like a grenade in a battle field taking out dozens.
He called after Victoria who was leaving him to just stand there. "Vicy. Stop. Please." he said as if he was crying out for help. "I couldn't help it. I'm not that type of person." Now he was just lying to himself and her. "That's a lie. Yes I am that kind of person but then again I'm not. I don't know what I am."
He could no longer see her in the darkness. He began to hate himself for all that he did. "Why must I be filled with so much anger!" he shouted as he punched the stop sign next to him.
He walked back towards the the phone booth that he just left. The guy was now sitting on the bench and nursing himself. He saw Dante coming back and put up his hands in terror. "Wait. I'm sorry. Please just leave me alone." he pleaded as Dante drew closer. Dante looked at the guy who was begging for forgiveness and snatched him up by the shirt. The guy was pleading and squirming as he tried to get away, and Dante drug him into the alley.
"Because of you and your attack she thinks I'm a monster!" he yelled as he threw him into the trash cans. He kicked him as the guy scurried to his feet. "Because of punks like you I'm filled with anger." He did another blow to his ribs. "Because of low lifes and scum bags I can't live a normal life!" He kicked the guy again. He kept kicking him and giving blows to his stomach and ribs as if he was a pile of trash. Blow after blow, punch after punch, until the guy was holding his stomach in horrible pain.
"Dante stop!" a voice shouted as it ran towards him. Dante looked in the direction and saw a figure running up. It was Xavier. Dante was going to perform one more blow to his temple and was hoping to kill the guy before Xavier grabbed him. "What is wrong with you Dante?" he said out of breath and pinning him against the wall.
Dante slid down and began to cry. "Why X. Why did the scum have to kill him? And why do I feel like everyone has to pay for my misery?" Xavier bent down at the knees. "There was nothing you could do D. Veto and his gang should be the one's paying, not that guy" he said as he moved his arm towards the guy laying on the ground. "Yeah the same Veto that I had the chance to kill tonight. I let him down Xavier. I promised I would get him back and I didn't." he said as he leaned his head back and looked up at the sky. Xavier took this in. He was quiet and then spoke, "Do you really think he would want you to kill him? And possibly take the risk of dying like he did?" he said as he sat next to him. "But you saw how they just.....how they just brutally murdered him. It was your house man. You saw it." he said. "I can't just sit here and know who did it without the people paying." "Dante just stop. You and no one else can do anything. You can't bring him back and you can't try to save him. There's no way to save him." "Xavier. Veto already took one of my best friends and no he's trying to take back another. He went to Aria's house and wants her back, X. He's taking everyone away and filling me with hate and anger." "Well Aria knows right from wrong. You can't make the decision for her. Do your best to keep her with you." Xavier took up and offered his hand to Dante. "Look D. The cops are going to show up sooner or later. Let's get out of her and go somewhere else."
Dante took his hand and stood up. Xavier patted Dante on the back as they walked. "Look man. Go home and get some sleep. Clean yourself up and get that blood off of you." Xavier noticed the cut on Dante's arm. "What the hell did you get into." he plainly stated. They went back to Dante's house and went to the kitchen. Xavier checked out the cut and noticed that it didn't need stitches. He bandaged it up since he took first aid and they talked. Dante's mom was getting home from work as she walked in the door and to the kitchen. She saw the bloody towels and garbage from the gauze and medical supplies. She shook her head in worry and her eyes watered. She could see her sons life falling apart and knew that one day he would end up like Alex. "Dante save yourself before it's too late." she said as she headed up the stairs. Xavier stood up and patted him on the shoulders and told him that he had to work in the morning. Before he walked away he looked at Dante, "Your lucky I didn't go home after our little hunt, or you would be in jail for murder right now." Xavier left the house. Grabbing a couple beers from his mom's supply, he went up to his room. He put on Pink Floyd and drank the beers before going to drifting off into a deep sleep as 'Wish You Were Here' played in the background.

Aria glanced at the clock again. It read 1:15am. It was offiicial; she wasn't going to sleep anytime soon. She closed her eyes and thought about the way things used to be before everything went down. Her, Dante, and Alex had been thick as thieves. Dante and Alex had known each other already, and they had accepted Aria when she had been going through that awkard just transfered to this school phase. After that, they were basically their own little group.
Then Aria met Kara. Come to think of it, that's actually when the trouble had started. Kara had been into a lot of stuff. Not drugs per se, but she was a heavy drinker; usually just on weekends. One weekend, she persuaded Aria to go to this shady area of town. That's when Veto and Aria had first began to talk.
It wasn't until after they started dating that Aria found out Veto was the leader of a gang. She thought he was joking at first, that he was just trying to scare her. But then she started thinking about how they never hung at his place or how he never really had his friends around her. Aria now knew the dangers of being with Veto, but she decided to stay with him regardless. He made her feel like she belonged somewhere; and that somewhere was with him.
She had kept her relationship with Veto a secret from Alex and Dante for as long as she could, but of course Dante saw some of the changes in her and he called her out on them. She eventually broke down and told the two of them, hoping they would understand. They didn't really, but they still stayed her friends.
It was about seven months into their relationship when Alex wound up dead. Aria had wanted to believe Veto, to believe that he didn't know anything about it, to believe that he had nothing to do with it, but all the signs pointed to him and his 'friends'. She broke up with Veto, swearing to never see him again after that.
But now she had, and she, no matter how much she'd swear up and down that she didn't, wanted to be with him again. She got up, fixed her hair, and grabbed the ring off her dresser. Her parents were home now so she snuck downstairs and out the door. This was going to be settled. Tonight.

Victoria heard him shout and she grew even worse, her skin coming down to a white color, almost like a sheet. She took deep breaths as she watched him walk over to the guy who had attacked her, and start beating him again. Her eyes widened as she saw the two dark figures, one punching the other while the other sat on something and cowered.
Victoria almost felt bad for the attacker but then she heard the words, "Because of you and your attacker she thinks I'm a monster!" Tears came to her eyes and she felt horrible. No, Dante! She wanted to shout to him. It's not your fault. If she hadn't of called him, he wouldn't of tortured himself like this. If only she had gone home like a good girl should...
She took a step towards him but before she could get there in the dark, he disappeared around a corner and she lost sight of him. She sighed, her voice shaky as she said quietly, "What have I done?" She caused Dante's anger. She was a little frightened of him, but he wasn't a...monster. Hopeless, she started on the short trip home.
When she got to her small, crappy apartment, she fell on the couch, holding her cat, tears streaming down her face. It was all of her fault. All of it.

"Dante?" his mother said as she sat on the edge of his bed. She tapped his arm lightly to try to wake him. He rolled over and slowly opened his eyes to avoid being blinded by the sunrise. "Shouldn't you be at work?" he said in a groggy voice. His mother shook her head, "I took the day off. I'm worried."
Dante sat up and scooted back to lean against the wall. He rubbed his eyes to get the sleep out of it. With a long drawled out stretch and half yawning, "Why? There's nothing to worry about." "When you come home bloodied with someone's blood and your cut, then there is something to worry about." She unwrapped his arm to look at the wound. "It's no big deal. He deserved it. He was attacking this girl I met." He flinched with pain as the gauze came off the scab. It looked pretty nasty, but it was healing. "Well at least it was for a good cause, right? I can't handle this anymore Dante." She grabbed peroxide and a new gauze to clean the cut. "You've changed so much in these past three years. Not in a good way either." Dante stayed silent as his mom spoke. He wanted to hear what she had to say, after all he agreed with it. "You're not yourself anymore. What happened to the son that was happy and outgoing. I want him,not the son who's angry, parties, and wages wars against everyone." She wrapped up his arm. "He died with along with Alex. I should've died that night mom. I should be in the ground right along with Alex."
His mom had never known what really happened that night. She just knew that Dante was there and he knew who did it, and it took the cops to tell her that. "Mom the night Alex died and we were at that party, that party across town?" he said and his mom nodded. "A few gang members showed up and started messing with Xavier's brother. Alex went to step in and so did I. That's when one of them pulled out a gun. Everyone scattered expect Alex and I. Alex went to grab the gun but was shot. I ran to grab Alex as he fell and the gang member aimed at me. He pulled the trigger but it jammed. He threw the gun down and the gang members left while Alex laid there and died in my arms. The cops and paramedics were too late."
This was all that Dante was going to tell her. He wasn't going to tell her how he was looking to seek revenge. He went to the bathroom and took a shower. After he brushed his teeth and got dressed, he noticed that his jacket was ruined from last night. He needed to go shopping and maybe find a new style so he grabbed his bank card. After Alex died his mother sued the city for lack of response and was awarded some hefty cash. Practically being Alex's brother and staying with him until the cops came, his mom gave Dante quite a bit of money.
"I'm going shopping for some new clothes Mom. Maybe I can stop dressing like a punk since you hate it so much." he told his mom after he gave her a kiss on the check. He headed down to the local mall and found a few stores with nice clothes. He bought a few outfits and stylish accessories but he was missing something. He checked his pocket watch to look at the time and knew exactly what he wanted. The jewelry store was open by now since it was around ten in the morning so he head to it.
He walked in the store so he could look at a watch or maybe a necklace. From the back room a younger woman called out to him to tell him that she would be right with him. He headed over towards the necklaces and began to browse. He looked up to see if the jeweler was out yet and saw someone that he knew. A very familiar girl that looked a lot like Victoria. She just didn't look like Victoria, but she was Victoria. "Vicy?" he said surprised and was trying to see if it was really her.

"So....that's it." Aria said. "Wow...wow chica, you're in some heavy s**t." Trisha said while stuffing her face with the pancakes she had just made.
Aria ate a little, but the food was mostly getting pushed around.
"Hey, lemme see that ring again."
Aria handed Trisha the ring.
"Yeah, that's a pretty good looking piece of jewelry. You think he stole it?" Trisha joked.
"Trish, if you're gonna joke, I can just leave now." Aria replied, shoving her plate away and standing up.
"No! I'm sorry. I didn't know it was so touchy." "After what I just told you?" Aria sat back down. "I mean...well yeah. I didn't know that you like...still like him."
Aria sighed and began to play with her food again. Trisha watched her silently.
"What?" Aria asked after a few minutes. "You changed in the matter of a day. The Aria I know wouldn't even think twice about this. She'd tell Veto to f-......screw off. I mean, how could you even consider getting back with him?!"
Aria slouched and told Trisha about her feelings as well.
"Sounds like you just kinda want someone to be there. Not like a big brother, not like Dante, but like what Dante starting to have with that Victoria chick."
Aria responded by nodding, but the entire situation was depressing and she decided not to talk about it anymore.

Victoria got up the next day in a daze, sunlight streaming in through the grimy window next to her bed. She glanced through it with squinted eyes, and yawned. She instantly remembered last night with Dante, and she slumped back into bed. She also remembered it was Monday, which meant she had to get to the jewelry in...she stared at her cheap clock. THIRTY MINUTES? She jumped out of bed, threw on a black t-shirt, skinny jeans, and her sandals, and ran down the hall to the kitchen.
She couldn't believe she had slept in. I must have been tired to sleep that late, she thought miserably. Sighing, she last night came back to her even more. After the..incident she had come back, pet her cat, and dozed on the couch for a couple of hours. When she woke up around three, she had walked down the hall, and thrown on some sweat pants, crawling into bed until just then, at eight-thirty. Victoria went into the pantry and grabbed a granola bar, snarfed that down, along with a banana and some apple juice.
Noticing the fridge was getting empty, she knew she couldn't do anything about it right then, and ran to the bathroom. She threw the door open and brushed her hair quickly, put it in a high ponytail, and sprayed on some hair crap that smelled like strawberry's. She frowned, throwing the empty bottle of hair spray in the trash can. She wouldn't be able to get any more for a while.
She didn't bother with any makeup, as her face was clear today, she saw with relief. She ran back down the hall, out the door, and down the street, not really paying attention to what was going on around her. She passed the gun store without much thought, and pushed the door open to the store right as the clock turned to nine 'o' clock. She clocked in and waved to Chrissy, who was her one of the workers there. Chrissy gave her a knowing smile and she jumped behind the counter, not seeing her boss then. This was the only job she could find that was close enough by walking, and if she lost it, there would be no income of money, which meant she couldn't pay her rent. No job, no money, no shelter.
For almost an hour she worked with only about three customers, and she was soon out of things to do. Bored, she noticed some magazines on the stand behind the counter, and, curious, picked one of them up. She flipped through it for a good ten minutes. After a while, she heard someone open the door, the bell ringing on it's hook. She didn't bother to look up, and said loudly, "I'll be right with you."
She was finishing up an article when she heard the unmistakable voice. "Vicy?" She glanced up and saw Dante. Oh, no. It was Dante. He would be the only one who would call her that. She took deep breaths and backed up, glancing at Chrissy. She begged her friend to take Dante, but Chrissy was stubborn and said she was working with an old lady. Seeing she was right, she sighed and bit her lip. She could wait until Janet was out...
She gave herself a stern talking to and gripped the counter. He wouldn't be..too mad, right? She took one more last breath before walking over to him. "Hi, Dante." She said weakly. Oh, god. He wouldn't hit her...right? Her breaths came out in gasps and she added the obvious. "I work here." Don't sound stupid, she chided herself. She backed up a little from him and smiled at the floor. "So, what are you looking at today?" She said it quickly, so he wouldn't have a chance to say anything else.

He glanced around at the different types of necklaces and watches. "I'm not sure. Either a watch or a necklace for sure." he saw a nice watch that he liked. "Can I see that one?" he said pointing to a silver wristwatch. He had a thing for silver and it caught his eye. It wasn't too pricey but then again it wasn't cheap. It was a jewelry store after all. "Oh and that flat chained necklace right there." pointing to it.
He took in a deep breath and slowly let it out. It had to be done sooner or later. "Look. I'm sorry about last night. I'm not sure what came over me." He looked at the floor and continued to talk. "You probably think I'm some sort of lunatic or something but I'm not. I wish that I could just start over and that both of us just forgot about what happened. But after that show I'm sure that you never want to talk to me, and if it's true, then it's perfectly fine." You could hear remorse in his voice. You could just tell that felt horrible for what he did in front of her and that he regret every second of it.
He looked up from the floor so he could go back to shopping.

Victoria smiled as he looked around at the watches and necklaces. She wondered who they were for but decided it was none of her business. She digged in her pockets for the cabinet key but found out she didn't have it, and she felt like an idiot. Her cheeks flamed red, and she looked at Chrissy helplessly. Chrissy grinned back at her, and gave her a set that she kept with her also. Victoria grinned and mouth a thank you, and turned the key in the lock, and opened the glass door. She pulled both the watch and the necklace he had been pointing at, and reached out to give them to him.
She stopped when he began talking about last night. She let out a breath and stopped, dropping the jewelry to her side. She heard the part about starting over and she glanced up at him, staring into his eyes. She noticed they were a beautiful, mossy green, and her heart stopped for a moment. She closed her eyes and turned away. She would not let him get to her. He was a...dangerous creature. A boy she shouldn't be hanging around. He was a...down to earth sweet heart. She sighed and looked back up at him. She shook her head slowly and the next thing she knew, she had dropped the jewelry, and run out the front door, past him and into the morning air. Tears choked her and closed her throat, and burned her eyes as she ran.

The other women looked at Dante. "What's all that about? She can't just leave like that." she said as she walked over. Dante picked up his bags and walked towards the door, "Don't worry. I'll do my best to bring her back. It's my fault after all." He saw her running down the street. He jogged after her and called out to her, "Vicy. Can you please just stop?" He continued after her and was catching up to her. The crosswalk turned red and cars sped in front of them. He came up next to her. "Look. Can you just tell me what's wrong? If not then at least go back to your job. I would hate to have you fired because of me." He stood there and after a few minutes of silence he started to slowly walk away. All she has done was run from him ever since last night so there was no reason to stay. Dante decided that he would just give up on it. Give up on making friends because all he did was ruin it. As he walked away he called out to her. "You have my number. I'll make sure to answer if you call."

Trisha unlocked the door to the record store. She had not stopped talking about the situation.
"Aria are you listening to me?" "Um, I was trying not to." Aria replied snapping her name tag in place. "Well you should."
Trisha was more of a blunt person. Instead of slowly peeling off a bandaid, she'd yank it off and tell you to grow up.
"Aria tell him to leave you alone." "Trisha after me telling you everything, you really think I can just tell him that? I mean even if I didn't like him, he's in a fu- freaking gang. You can't just say 'leave me alone' to a gang member, not if they're serious about getting you." "I bet I could." Trisha said under her breath. "Anyway, time to start your work day if you wanna get paid. And this conversation isn't over."
Trisha walked away and flirted with the first customer. Aria wondered why she couldn't just let people choose what they wanted and leave without having her plastered on their mind. However, she smiled because with every cent more Trisha made, some of that wealth trickled down to her.

Victoria saw him running after her and she freaked out, but eventually stopped. She didn't know what to say so after a few minutes of silence, she opened her mouth, but nothing came out. Sighing, she watched him walk away and she walked quickly after him. "Wait." She said, out of breath. She stopped and got close enough to tug on his sleeve, and then changed her mind and took a step back. "Look, I just..I've never seen anybody stick up for me in that...way." She said loudly, because of the cars. She bit her lip and saw those green, deep eyes again. "I'm..sorry if I upset you. I guess I have to go back to work now. I'll..call you, okay? Tell your friends I said hi!" She ran back to the store before he could say anything else, hoping everything was solved between them. She jumped back behind the counter, panting. Chrissy looked at her and opened her mouth, but thought better of it and turned away.

Dante was on a schedule today, and he behind what he had planned. He still wanted that necklace and watch, but it could wait until tomorrow or whenever he had the chance. He was relieved that Victoria was going to give him another chance. He couldn't mess this up and needed to talk to someone. The only person he could think of was Aria. He checked his watch. She's probably at work right now The schedule could be put on hold for a while. He headed over towards the record store and hoped that he could talk to Aria.
He opened the door and saw a sign for a sale on classic rock, so he grabbed a few cds. He took them up to the counter but held on to them as he waited for Aria to finish with a customer. He stepped forward, "Ari. Are you busy right now?" He put the cds to the side of the counter.

Aria waved goodbye to the customer before Dante and then looked at her friend. Before she could say anything, Trisha came over.
"You better get your friend, I think she's gone nuts." "Damnit Trish!"
Trisha shrugged and walked away to help another customer.
"Don't mind her. Anywho, what;s up?"

"I messed up big Aria. I kinda fixed it, but not all the way." he took off the jacket that had been cut last night. There was still a blood stain in the inside of it. He didn't know if it was his or the other guys. The gauze puffed up his shirt sleeve and the cut was aching. He took a seat on the counter and rubbed his arm.
