roller-chick361 Religion: Well, I am looking for a coven to be initiated into. There aren't any around where I live. Despite this, to those I know and care about, I consider myself a Wiccan, though I'm not actually initiated. I ended up finding a coven about 6 hrs away from me that I commute to. Have you checked Amber and Jet for covens? Just as a heads up- some Wiccans take offense to Seekers calling themselves Wiccan.

Yeah I've heard that. I only really claim to be a Wiccan with my friends, since any of them that are also Wiccans are in the same boat I am.
I haven't heard of Amber and Jet. What is that?

CalledTheRaven Well, unless I missed something, I don't see anything to indicate that she ran off. Her last post was early this morning and she said she was tired, not done. Maybe she went to bed. I know we've had a few of that sort of late but we could give her a chance to come back before deciding she's legged it. She left the guild entirely. I noticed the member count had gone down, and looked.

What is that? Amber and Jet is a group that was started by Seekers like us- so they could network with covens. Since then it has grown, it has discussion archives and back channels that can help you obtain a vouch. Out of respect for the lineaged Wiccans- would you be kind enough to call yourself a Seeker? It can be insulting to have someone call themselves by a title they haven't earned yet.

I would more than happy to call myself a Seeker, but I ask that for a few days I get a smidge of leway whiel I get used to remember putting "Seeker" instead of "Wiccan."

I think that can happen. 3nodding You'll still get corrected- but old habits die hard. If you slip and people point it out- don't take it personally.

Sanguina Cruenta Hey Pride! ^_^ Pride of the Lynxians Celtic Magic- D.J. Conway A warning on that one - it's more detrimental than helpful as it concerns anything "Celtic" wink Sorry, but I'll have to disagree on this one. I know Ms. Conway personally, and she has the best info concerning the Celtic people and their faith. It seems to be hard for most people to grasp the idea that fairys and dragons are real. D. J. has done extensive research on both and so have I. Believe me they are very much real.

What do you like to be called: Granny, since I'm 57 years old.
Interests: Taking care of my family and four cats. Religion: I have a Wiccan background from my first HP. I'm now Earth based with Gaia as my main Goddess. I prefer to be known as pagan. I honor my Gods on the sabats as well as the solstices and equinoxes. How long have you been on this path? My last year and a day study was with Mariah Prosper in the coven called House of Light. I was with them for three years. As time goes by I'll tell you more about your Granny.
Random fact about yourself: I have fantasies about being a male Indian named Daniel Bishop. I can do a whole RP storyline on this one person. I'm so weird. I like it!! rofl

Granny Earth Sorry, but I'll have to disagree on this one. I know Ms. Conway personally, and she has the best info concerning the Celtic people and their faith. I think I know of a few anthropologists who have better info on the Celts, especially the Gael. Conway even had to publish a new book as an apology to the Celtic pagans- Fire In the Head. There is a lot of stuff she published in that book that doesn't make it past the most basic of cultural understandings in an introduction to the different branches of the Celts. She may be a nice person, but she isn't an expert on the Celts. You mentioned you were Wiccan- may I ask which tradition?

Glad to see you found it Jersey! Welcome to the Grove! And Ms Earth Granny Earth What do you like to be called: Granny, since I'm 57 years old. ...As time goes by I'll tell you more about your Granny. I'm sorry but I'm gonna have some trouble with that, considering my dad is older than you and my mom not much younger. Also, I consider family ties and those friendships that are as close as family to be very important and using a title that implies such a relationship (calling yourself my/our Granny) with someone I don't even know in an internet sense is not something I'll be doing.

Indeed... I already have a granny. And Granny as a title earned, as in "Weatherwax", is not something I'm likely to use unless one is Esme herself.
