Rune rested her elbow on the table and her chin in her hand, sighing softly. "I suppose I was looking for something." She gave a somewhat sad smile. "I've been rather unlucky when it comes to companionship lately. I suppose I should take it as par for the course at my age but... still..." She shrugged slightly, running a hand through her hair.

He nods "I remember being there not long ago, it was quite lonely up here until I met Silverfang and we became friends... Moogles really tend to be fairly quiet with a few exceptions. Friends are always very important, and if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to friends with you." he smiles broadly.
OOC: I'm starting to doze at my desk but if you reply to this I'll do what I can to reply tomorrow ok? It was fun, it's been a lil bit since I last RPed ^^b

((no worries ^_^ sleep tight)) Rune returned his smile and nodded gently. "I'd like that as well." She patted his hand lightly, then turned back to Tryan and smiled at the small creature, ruffling his hair again. "And how about you little one? Would you like to be friends as well?"

Tryan had all but finished his bowl of... stuff... and had been considering going to bed when he felt Rune's hand on his head again. To be honest, it was beginning to irritate him, but he blamed it on being tired. He turned to face her when she began speaking, but just stared at her blankly. When she was done, he blinked, but his expression remained unchanged. After several moments, he placed his bowl on the table and slid it towards her, and then turned and walked away. Presently, he disappeared through the doorway that would take him to his room, where he fully intended to retire for the night.

Watching Tryan saunter off he simply said to him "Sleep well Tryan, it's been good to see you again."
Looking back to Rune he continues "If it's any consolation I've known him for a little bit now and he still doesn't trust me much. The only reason he listened to me before is because he's been trained to be extremely subservient and polite by who ever it was he was with last. While I feel bad taking advantage of it, if it's something that will help him I suppose it's not so bad."

Rune chuckled softly, nodding. "You shouldn't feel bad about it. Sometimes you need to convince people to take your help. I've had to do similar things before myself." She watched the creature exit the room with a sympathetic smile. "I suppose I can understand his reasoning for being so mistrustful. I used to be very much the same."

A small frown comes to Ontaros's face having heard that, "Honestly I've never had to worry about trusting others, so I really can't say I know what that's like. I am sorry however that both of you had to endure hardships like that."
OOC: Lovely timing Rune, now I gotta scamper off to work >.< I'll reply when I get home at 10 my time. It's almost 3 now.

((sorry ^^;; seeya then)) Rune smiled back at Ontaros warmly, giving him a small shrug. "It's part of life, I suppose. No use crying over spilled milk." She settled into her seat a bit more comfortably and flicked a strand of hair away from her eyes. "So tell me a bit about yourself Ontaros. What possessed you to build this place?"

Thinking a moment Ontaros replied "Well, I knew I wanted to have friends over... I knew I wanted to be able to provide a place for them to stay should they wish, a place to entertain, and a place to simply get away from everything. Fortunately my brother had befriended the Spell Jammer, and introduced me to it before his passing, otherwise I'm afraid this castle would be rather mundane. After finding out about the Spell Jammer's namesake, its magic suppressing aura, I started training here with magic, and as time progressed I decided what better challenge for myself than to build this place here atop the Spell Jammer itself." he smiled proudly. He was pleased that Rune seemed to be taking interest in his home. Ontaros hoped that meant she was interested in sticking around.
OOC: As much as I'd like to stick around and continue this tonight I have work early and I really went nuts today at work. I push carts for wal-mart for the time being and with it being V-day, and sunday it was busy... sadly none of my coworkers understood the urgency of taking care of business on a day like today so I had to carry everyone for the first few hours just to get caught up >.< ah retail how i've missed thee... gonk

((aww, no worries. Retail work sucks >< I had a summer job at KMart for a while. Luckily most of the stuff they gave me to do was just 'here's a department, YOU take care of it.' So I didn't have to worry about other people being lazy)) Rune smiled and nodded, taking another look around the room. "Mm... it is quite feat that you've managed, creating all of this up here. I rather like this dampening field actually. I'm never at full potential in the first place and here I imagine it will all sort of even out..." She paused for a moment, then realized that this was another comment that needed explanation. "I am comprised of two different types of magick, and unfortunately they don't mesh well. A portion of my energy has to devoted to keeping them in check at all times lest I suffer some unpleasantness. But here, they are partially contained already, so the energy freed up by that can go into counteracting any difficulties the dampening field would cause my spells." She chuckled softly and then glanced about. "It would be a good place for me to practice."

His head fell a little to one side when she mentioned her magical troubles. "Not to be too forward but perhaps, with a little more information, I may be of some help in that area. Having to regulate such energies on a constant basis is something I'm quite familiar with." Looking around the room and then back to Rune "Depending on the natures of your conflicting aspects it could be a reasonably easy fix or it could require a good deal of research and studying your energies, with your permission of course, before a solution could be drawn up." He looked hopeful that she would be willing to accept his help, such a fascinating nexus indeed!

Rune chuckled softly and shrugged, spreading her hands. "I suppose I can't object, but I somehow doubt you'll find a fix for it." She tugged lightly at a strand of her hair in thought. "I've had quite some time to look for a fix myself, and I've yet to find one. It's sort of hard to reconcile a magic that gives life with one that brings on death."

Ontaros smiles warmly to her and askes her quite plainly "Have you ever looked at water? It manages to bring that precise balance together within it's natural existence. With too much rain, floods bring destruction and death of plants, people, and animals alike, but on the same token, these same beings rely on waters presence in order to continue to live. I realize that within this example lies a simply explanation, balance, and that's what your looking for but if you can find something that is capable of both by simply existing, a conscious entity should be able to find their balance. I think that once you find that balance and you're more familiar with it, you wont need to control the energies they will simply counter balance on their own." Thinking a moment he then continues "Which side do you believe is the stronger of the two?"

Rune smiled slightly. "Well that's the issue - neither. They're completely equal, much to my detriment. If one were stronger than the other it likely would have just taken over entirely. And my life would have been a far easier one, more than likely." She shrugged and crossed one leg over the other. "Though now I rather like it that way."
