A superficial look to daddy at his mentioning before back to paying attention to her teacher once more, ears twitching in the change in her voice that indicated the woman was sitting now. "Nothing." It was probably rhetorical, but she answered the question none the less. However the girl was not detered by what most others may pout over and fuss about until they honestly understood why things had to be that way. "So then I can be my own best too!" How exciting. Keeping secrets without getting in trouble.

"Indeed. in time, you will be your own best, and do this house much honor. I must admit you surprise me. I hadn't expected a student like you that could grasp and understand the lessons of what needs to be. perhaps your loss of sight is less a burden and more a blessing to your studies then you might think."
before getting herself up and brushing off her robes some.
"But back to essence emeralds. there's also another thing you need to be aware of, and you touched on it before. making them out of animals works...but they will not work for restoring to life people. they simply do not have enough energy. and you cannot use several at one time. the exceptions to this rule, however, are dangerous. and there are only two. a Wyvern, and a Wurm. both these beasts are related to the dragon, which is why they can be utilized in this manner....but both of them are very, very dangerous creatures. to weaken one enough to force it's agreement to sacrifice is a task that many try, but a bare handful even get near the goal, and fewer survive and succeed in the attempt."
giving a slight grin.
"which is why, if someone tries to claim they have one, feel free to deal with them as a liar and a thief...unless you can see or feel the powerful aura that would mark a necromancer that strong. then you should be most respectful."
Malik nodded lightly.
"Particularly the weapon design we are going to try with. you sister has show in the past a great aptitude for judging speed and length in sound. we're going to try and teach her a form of chain fighting Broog knows about. I'm hoping that the chain links will create enough sound that she can judge how to use them properly with a little training."
smirking some.
"and when was the last time you tried to get her to do something she refused to under any circumstances. getting her to wear gloves without her mother here is going to be like trying to get her to go wade into the lake."

Praise was always good. " I try hard." That was all she had to say to others as she was particularly oblivious to how others may think of her and at her age she often didn't care about herself presented to the rest of the world yet. She was eight, who was she trying to impress? Aside from daddy that was.
There was a lot to remember about these emeralds, but she was storing it all aways. Somewhere in that head of her was developing a fancy to find and at least challenge such creatures. Just to see if she could do it. Dragon, Wyvern, or Wurm, didn't matter which.
"Respectful of suspicious." She was indeed a smart girl Someone with that kind of power probably wouldn't be cordial for long at all.
"So you're going to treat her like a bat?" That made sense. The girl did depend on her ears more than her eyes after all. How she was figuring out things so specifically he supposed only came when you couldn't see. He had tried, and it was hard sometimes.
"I don't negotiate with her. She's smaller than I am. I just pick her up and take her where she's needed to be. Depite the noise she causes." Sure it had got him a shock or two from her little talents, but he'd felt worse. Though he did wrinkle his nose to the water comparison. "Okay so that's one place she wins...I won't even try to give that child a bath ever again." He'd babysat his sister enough but she could just stay dirty until their mother came back from whatever.

"with any luck their almost finished with what they are doing so she'll be dropping my any time to ease over the glove thing. and yes, in a manner of speaking."
giving a small grin to his oldest.
"She'll fight tooth and nail to keep gloves off her. and I mean that literally. she's claw, bite, zap, kick..alot more then making noise. and then you have to use a crowbar to try and pry her fists open."

"You know, if it wasn't for those blue tips on the end of her ears I would be more inclined to say she's something you spawned downstairs rather than her being your child when she gets like that. Ow!" Rubbing the back of his head.
And doing so because his mother had popped him in the back of his head. "Don't talk about your sister that way. You were worse when you threw a tantrum over nothing at all. At least she chooses to have a reason." Crossing her arms she came to stand between the two men. "So, how are we doing?" She was slightly irritated personally.

A glance at his wife, and noting irritation.
"Things are going fine. your daughter has inherited your ability to know just what questions to ask to dig in for information with. Other then that, things have been uneventful here. How did things go with you?"

"Oh good. If she's going to be the one to take on your brand of spooking people then at least she'll be able to get the most out of it. Whether people know she's asking or not." Though she did turn a look to Malik as he questioned to the source of her irritation that she was wearing right out in the open. "Fine, I suppose you could say. They're still talking, I've heard what I feel is all I need to hear."

"Anything even remotely good in the conversation or is that old dragon still being a thickscaled lizard?"
and a glance at their daughter.
"and we'll need to see broog here once this is over. got to get her some gloves and see if broog is finished with his weapon design."

"Good is a subjective term love. I personally just don't need to hear certain things after a while has passed as I've learned to accept and deal with facts." Though she gave a glance at Savryn as well before back to Malik. "You already had something designed and finished? I better get on my bird part of this before you outshine me."

"Actually, it was entirely broog's idea on a fighting method that might work. mostly it the glove thing that we need your expertise for because I don't carry crowbars on my to pry little fingers open with."
leaning over and giving a kiss to his wife, and glancing at their daughter and her teacher who was clearing giving him the 'are we doing formal lessons now or...?' kind of look, to which he waved her off.
she gave a nod and patted the girl on the head.
"Now go back to your father...we'll have more time later and you'll have plenty of time to think in your room sessions, I assure you."

"You always blame him don't you?" Which she found quite amusing but usually the truth. Broog would take matters into his own hands if he thought it would please Piper. "Never send a man to do a woman's job hm?" Though she couldn't help but smile a little as he was trying to draw her out of her irritation at the same time. "I suppose I can have mercy on you all and help."
Savryn gave a happy little giggle and a nod to her teacher before she scraped a boot in the sand, waited a second, and then skipped off to her parents. Old habits were hard to break sometimes and she diverted right to her mother to cling to her side for affection. "I'm gonna be the best."

"Only when it is fault. and yes, unfortunately there are just some jobs us men can't do."
giving a slight grin to his wife and a glance at their daughter.
"In time, you will be indeed."

"Yes, you poor things." Shaking her head at him and petting at their daughter's hair lightly with a chuckle. "I sense another over achiever in the ranks. But come on then, means we should see Broog all the sooner before that trait kicks in full and I start yelling because of incidents."

"Oh I'm sure the yelling will be coming soon enough."
But a slight grin and motioning for her to go on ahead of him, on the way to Broog, who was working in his smithy taking to Tremor in a coarse, and gutteral tongue and getting responses as they both were working between forges and jewelry stations for whatever they were working on.

"You know when you say that I find it oddly endearing. Saves me the trouble of making you guess why I should be yelling at you because you already know." Taking Savvy's hand she headed off down the halls to see Broog who was apparently working with what could be comparable to his best friend. It was almost cute. "Guess what boys, there are jobs to be done and you get to do them. Gloves, among other things."
Which got a frown and tug on her mother's wrist. "I don't want gloves." Didn't she already tell them that?
