Whether Kichiro was fighting Vahn or Sunstrike, it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference.
Sun's from a drastically different time zone, Vahn has work.
The delay would be enough from both that you still wouldn't be fighting right now.
Though, Kichiro and Sun might've finished by now, but Ed would still be on the job.
