He rolled his eyes to her scoffing. "Need I remind you that I'm the only thing keeping you from getting yourself in trouble. That's my job here and as wonderful as you think yourself to be and everyone to meet your standards, you're just going to have to rethink your plans there." As with most of his father's staff, she was just as replacable as anyone else was. He would be happy to oblidge his mother too if needed. "Or if I need to get creative with you, I'm sure I can match you to her standards." He had long grown out of being afraid of his father's people but at his father's nod he did set his sister down, petting at her hair lightly. "This one should be easy for you." Pushing the girl away from him slightly. He was long practiced in knowing when his sister needed some comfort and when it was okay to push her away to be able to stand on her own.

She gave Malikhai a long look...and a slight smile.

"If you'd care to put me to a test, then perhaps that can be arranged as a teaching tool to show my young apprentice what necromancy is capable of."

before turning her eyes to said student.

"You have been able to to parts of the lifetap spell seperately. you've inflicted pain on one brother, and siphoned energy from the other. with the lifetap, we combine these two part into a whole. you inflict pain, adn through that connection, siphon the lifegiving energy form your opponent. it's also an effective healing method. as any injuries you sustain, you transfer to your enemy while healing yourself."

Tapping her finger on her chin a moment.

"Allow me to demonstrate, as well as let you feel the disconnection of losing your minion, which is not painful, but it gives you a sense of when one has been defeated and thus destroyed. watch me carefully, and note the difference in the life energy when I am injured."

drawing her dagger and slicing open her palm, from finger to wrist, and letting it bleed a little for her student's knowledge, before lifting her other hand and the tint of gren before the siphon of the energies sustaining the pet flow from it to her, the injury healing on her hand and the skeleton collapsing into dust and a bonechip.

"Long as you do it right, I don't care what you do. But that's the catch. Doing it right." He crossed his arms, turning his attention back to his sister as well.

Well she understood that. She kinda did it already, just as Khai said. She just couldn't control it really. Sometimes it happened 'how it was supposed to' by her teacher's standards and sometimes it happened in parts. The healing part was completely new though and rather intriguing.

So thus intrigued she turned her attention to her teacher and her apparent pet as well. She was stuck studying her pet for a moment, or more accurately the thin thread like glow that went between her and it. For a moment she picked up her shoe, thinking their was something stuck to the bottom of it between them but that wasn't the case. Hm, interesting.

But attention back to teacher and watching the outline of energy that was her. Her nose told her there was blood in the air and the granted vision through energies told her the differences. It was like little pinprick holes were being made in the injured area in the energy. But with the action taken the pinpricks started to fill back and and Savryn shuffled her feet where she stood as it felt like a string had snapped and the little thread between her and her pet had started to grow dim before it snapped.

She gave her new student a moment, watching her before speaking.

"I would like you to practice on these two things. the summoning of a minion, and the usage of lifetaping. to practice both together, summon a minion and then use your lipetapping to drain it and replenish yourself. and to dismiss a pet, all you must do is sever the energy between you and it. it will revert to it original form, a chip of bone. That is all that I will teach you today, you may practice now on your own."

walking over and handing her a little bag.

"these will be your practice minions. there is a variety of choice, from humaniods, to anthromorphic to animal. use them as you please to learn your talents. if you need more, I'm sure your father or myself can get you some."

Quite happily and excitedly she took the bag that was plopped in her hands. Happily clutching it close so she wouldn't lose it. "Thank you." Even happily said and loudly as oppposed to her usual quiet and reserved nature. If she got to practice that must mean that she had been doing it right and could contiune to do better at this. And thus earn more praise for herself."

Piper was still watching and crossed her arms before shaking her head lightly, though she was smiling all the same. "Guess this means I need to get on that bird issue. Right poetic justice or irony, that little elf."

Glancing at his oldest son.

"See, nothing harmful, no problems at all."

patting his daughter on the head lightly and giving a nod to the necromancer who returned it and went back to do her own, in her eyes, more important things.

and then it was a look up to the wife, and picking his daughter up and carrying her over there to her mother.

"Seem nothing overly stressful. Like I promised."

"When you're watching." He still wasn't fully convinced but that was why he was involved now wasn't he? Not to mention he'd probably find himself in charge of watching his sister when she was practicing. Should really be his father's job in his opinion.

Which patting and pick ups translated to her as praise and made for a very happy and productive little Savryn. Even more happy as she got additional praise in the form of pets from her mother. "I can do it again?" Because she was good at it right?

Piper merely smirked at Malik before nodding her head in that 'you win' way. "Yes, like you promised. Look at her she's not even tired." Which was odd...or maybe it was the nature of the magic that didn't produce the usual effects. She wasn't one to say as she had no inkling of such a trade as necromancy. "Yes you can do it again. If it's okay with your father." Which comically enough meant Malik now had an enthusiastic begging child in his arms.

That got piper the 'you did that on purpose' look, before setting her down on the sand again.

"alright go ahead and practice some until your tired."

or get bored, whichever came first.

Which meant wandering away happily for their daughter and yes Piper turned one of her little evilish smirks to her husband. "Hey, you're the one who wanted to do this and you're going to be the one who is in charge of it the most. Besides, it's good for you to spend time with her. It makes her happy that you think she's doing something good."

He was half watching her while looking at his wife.

"Yes I know on both counts. But you didn't ahve to make her all squirmy and beggy in my arms you know. coudl have waited till I put her down first."

"She's excited and a child. That's what they do. They think they can get something they get all squirmy with excitment and then they beg for what they're going to get anyway. Why would that bother you? The boys were far worse than she ever is." And he was always holding them usually when they got to that because they were usually tugging at him as well. Somehow she felt she was going to have another one of those stages where she was going to be deeply stuck between the two of them again. It wasn't too fun a place to be but someone had to do it sometimes.

"difference being if they squirmed enough that I lost my hold, they were able to cover themselves effectively, or land relatively on their feet. she can't."

leaning up against the seating and watching his daughter.

"You have to take into account that while she may do what children do, she's blind. which means some things other kids can bounce back from or take minimal injury from are much worse on her. Another reason to teach her these arts, that she seems to have taken to quite well."

"You're worried about dropping her..." Okay she could give him that as a considerable worry but she couldn't help but watch him and raise and eyebrow at him. "Wait a moment, when did we switch places? You were saying that that detail didn't matter and now you want to worry?" Then again seeing as he was more or less being charged completely with the girl for her little lessons now, he would worry. Which personally Piper was relieved by. If he didn't care about the girl at all, he wouldn't worry about her either. He worried, so he cared too.

For a moment she turned her eyes to their daughter as well...who was quite effecively practicing her little technique with her brother standing by playing babysitter. Resting a hand on his arm she gave a squeeze comfortingly and smiled at him. "Only because of perception mostly. She feels everything more than usual because that's what she knows. Sometimes yes an injury is worse, and sometimes it just seems worse for her fussing." She gave him a smirk then, "Well, she doesn't get her enthusiasm or talent for magic from me. I have no dedication to that arts at all." Patting at his arm again. "If she does get hurt, remember to be the calm one. I know it would bother you, but she would most likely be fine...just very unhappy." Okay so it was partly amusing that she had to give him parenting tips for his own daughter. But that was how things were.

Kaelin had been sitting by, quietly sketching, although she was listening still. And she'd taken in everything. A quick intake of breath as the woman sliced herself and again when the orc appeared. That was...way different. But she was busy coloring in the shadows on Savryn's pensive little face. Smudging gently, she grinned at her husband as he stood up for his little sister. She was so proud of him in that moment and kept her eyes on the pair down in the arena. "He'd make a good father, wouldn't he?" Asked to the air more or less.

Faate chuckled. "Basically, though you shouldn't call such an exalted form of magic 'squiggles.' " It was intriguing to see how her brother was interacting with this new woman and how she was adjusting to their family. "Best in your Guild, hm? You were always throwing things as a kid. I guess you managed to turn that into a talent."

Kelli flushed though no one could tell and he merely shook his head. "Why do you have to say things like that?" Glaring at his sister for a moment and then back to Tihirri. "Don't listen to any of them. They have no idea what they're talking about."

Zahara merely chuckled herself and doused her own pancakes in syrup then reached beneath the table and squeezed her husband's knee affectionately. It was so lovely to see her boy home again and with someone new, too. Despite the fact that she was a surface elf which she knew her Sevilin wasn't thrilled about. It was good to be there for him and let him know it was okay to feel that way.

That comment got a twitch of the ear and a questioning glance at Piper. did he hear what he just thought he heard? Kaelin was thinking kids already? but then his attention turned to his daughter and his oldest.

"Savyrn, try the summoning...those minions obey commands to. like defending you, or attacking your enemies. feel free to sic it on your brother it won't hurt him. he's more then capable of defending himself."
