Malik rubbed his eyes lightly, and glanced at his daughter a moment.
"then back to the kitchen with you...lesson one, magic like this can be very draining on you. takes a lot of energy sometimes. you have to make sure you eat well."
Glancing at his wife.
"Alright...if she's up before your up, she's your daughter."
then running his fingers through his hair and getting up, neverminding he was nude and starting to get dressed. he daughter couldn't see it anyhow.
"then we'll get your brother, and you can meet your teacher."

He chuckled as she pushed him out of bed. "Oh so you're coming now too. You know, it would be interesting to see how you interpert magic on paper." But he did get himself up and got dressed, waiting for her to get herself together as well as her artsy supplies before leading her out to the kitchen.
"Lesson one: Food." Repeating back to him in simpler terms and after pressing a kiss to her mother's cheek she slipped off the bed with the tap of metal against stone from her boots, as she made her way from the room and down to the kitchen, more or less bumping into Kaelin harmlessly as she did so. A tug at Kaelin's dress to get her attention. "Kaelin, can you get me another peach please?"
To which she threw his pillow at him. "Don't test me today, I'm feeling run down a little." Though she did stretch and sit herself up with a yawn, watching him go about his thing. "Are you sure you can handle this with her?" Not a time for him to let his guilt or his fears get the better of him during all of this. She worried about them both.
"I figured I could have sent dogs out to greet you, but there are no dogs, and I'm staying right here because your mother is making pancakes." And that was one meal, aside from steak, that Sevilin just didn't miss out on. Though he did give his friend a once over...and rolled his eyes to his wife and gave her 'the look'. The why always surface trash look. Girl may be dark skinned but she was still surface trash, probably from that Guild. The girl got an affirming noise, but that was all.
Politely she stood by Kelligin, being rather well behaved and letting him do the talking for now. After all, he had been the hesitant one. Though from the horror's he kept mentioning, the house seemed quiet to her.

"I have nothing better to do and Lady Inthara could confine me to my bed at any minute. I'd like to get as much time up and about before she gets the chance." Following him down, she tangled her fingers in the little one's hair gently then moved to the icebox, pulling the sweet fruit down. "Savryn, do you want it cut up too? Or would you prefer to eat it this way?" Down on the child's level because even though she couldn't see, it was something that made sense to Kaelin.
"Guess we came at the right time. It's nice to see you anyway." A light pat to his father's shoulder and he ushered his fiancée into a seat then settled in beside her. "She's my fiancée, Mom. Tihrii and I are getting married."
Zahara shared some silent communication with her husband about being nice and then blinked at the announcement. "Well...that's unexpected." She shot her husband another look before he could say something mean or upset their son and chose that moment to set a rather large plate of pancakes on the table. "Eat as much as you like. I'm making another batch for when your brother and sister get up."

Malik gave a slight grin at the pillow throwing, before nodding lightly.
"I can handle this. this is the kind of thing I was raised with so I'll be good. honestly I'm more concerned how well Malikhai is going to handle it rather then myself. Savryn seems eager to learn."
Sitting down on the bed and leaning over to press a kiss to his wife's lips.
"Are you alright with things, 'Chev?"

"Necromancy makes Khai awkward, you know that. He may be upset if she gets upset but you're there for that too. Because she is going to get upset. Very few do things right or well the first time they try then and this is a tad extra frustrating." Turning her attention fully to him though at his kiss and his own concerns. "Things being Savryn learning things, or things being the boys, or things being in general? There's a lot of things, A'mael. But the truth is I'd rather see them all frustrated and upset for a time to get some relief and freedom from themselves than to have everyone either cooped up or worrying for the rest of their lives. D'vinns were never meant for coddling really."
And happiness as she got her peach. "Can you cut it please?" Of course she wasn't allowed near any sharp objects at all, so when she got her own food it didn't get cut unless someone did it for her. It was nice to have food in little pieces you could have bit by bit. Whether it counted as a full breakfast was another matter. "Daddy said I have to eat a lot."
He laughed. "Now you're learning how to work around Zahara. No worries, maybe she won't even be by today." Though he had a feeling she'd show up at least once to check on Savryn and Kaelin both. He shook his head however at his sister. "Savryn, when dad says you have to eat a lot because you're going to learn magic," he assumed that what the meaning of her words anyway, "he means a real meal. Not just fruit. You can still have that but you have to have some eggs or something else too."
"You always did have a good sense of timing." He was just about to say something about the girl when he shut his mouth and turned his attention to setting his papers aside as she was putting food on the table. First surface things and now he was intending to marry the suface thing? It was odd enough one of their children even wanted to get married. Hm...was Zahara going to be giddy about this later? That would be interesting.
She observed things as she usually did, picking out cues. Well, she could tell she wasn't very popular. That didn't bother her any and she sat down where Kelli guided before waiting for the boys to start getting food and a plate to be passed her way before she was easily following example. "You're just now saying something Kelli? You should get a spoon whack for that one. But I'll personally forgive you this time. I know we're all hush hush from the Guild."

"Of course." She was about to comment on the tiny breakfast when Khai did it instead and Kaelin thought about it for a moment. "You know, Savryn, you can take this peach and make a really yummy jelly to put on toast. We can also take some eggs and cheese and make you something special with those if you want that." But she was already slicing the peach into pieces and tossing the pit.
"Has this been decided for a long time?" Frowning at that and seriously considering spooning her son for not keeping her involved in his life. This was precisely why she hated it when her children left her. They didn't keep in touch like they were supposed to.
"Well...yes, but I wanted you to meet her before I announced it to you." Well aware of both women giving him death glares. "It's not as special if she's not here to see your reaction and such too." Leaning over and kissing her lips gently then lacing their fingers. "We love each other, we work in the same business, we don't fight like you and Dad. It's perfect."

"See, my wife gets it. why can't my youngest son get it?"
before giving her a small smile and another kiss, and caressing her cheek lightly.
"Everything is of concern to me with you, 'Chev. you know that. I don't enjoy it when you have bad days like you've been having, thankfully they've lessened over time but it still concerns me."
picking up her hand and giving it a kiss.
"Would you like to come down with us and berify to your satisfaction this first trip? or are you going to trust your men to be smart enough?"

"Because you men are thick." Saying it sweetly despite it being an insult. "Yes yes I know. But I'll be fine I promise. You focus on what you need to focus on and I'll stand behind you rolling my eyes like I always do." Nodding to him however she slid out of bed, and moved to get dressed. "You know I have to at least make people sweat over my potential disapproval."
Well she just lit up at that news. "Let's do that!" It would make daddy happy, Khai and Kaelin happy, and she got to eat something fun too. Covered everything good."
"Nice suggestion." Giving out orders to kitchen staff, quite capable of running things himself, he turned to his sister and started ushering her to the table. "Now go sit. Kaelin will bring you your peach and the staff will take care of the rest." Just so much easier to have her out of the way sometimes, than underfoot. "Kaelin's going to watch today too, isn't that fun?"
"We don't get much time away from the Guild as it is." Smiling as he went about making excuses. "He tries his best to please me. We also don't try to shank each other while we're sleeping. That's very important."
"You're supposed to fight. If you don't fight then you never get closer." Shaking his head but otherwise keeping his mouth shut on the matter by indulging in pancakes.

She gave her husband and grin and carried the peach to the table for the little girl, setting the plate down and sitting beside her. "One piece at a time, Savvy, so you don't choke." She doubled Savvy's order so she could eat as well and ruffled the child's hair. "It's alright. Khai has to eat just as much as you do since he's going to be playing with magic too."
"He was raised right." Bopping him on the head with a spoon to make her point. "Well, when is the wonderful event happening and where is it taking place? Sevilin and I had an Andalian marriage, but you're free to choose whatever you like."
"We fight, just not like you and mom do. We've only fought once or twice and they were both over something big, not something silly." Rubbing at his forehead where he'd been bopped, he gave his mother a grin. "That's all up to T. If she wants to have an Andallian ceremony, that's fine with me. The ribbon is a neat touch."

Malik left Malvolence on it's stand, and went down to the kitchen, knowing his wife would catch up in due time to see everyone that he needed to see gathered up there.
"Good. your mother will also be attending today to make sure everything is alright with her. and how are you feeling, Kaelin? any better?"
before taking a seat by his daughter.
"Today will be very simple things, but I want you to eat a good meal. Necromancy works with the essences of life and death, and can be very taxing on teh body. Much like when your brother uses his illusions and such too often and too much, he used to get bad headaches because illusion magics are all mind based."

"Well I won't be playing with magic too much. Any necromancy I know is scraps at best." Yeah he'd rather stick to the schools of magic he was good with. He came to the table as food was being set out though, taking his own seat. "Mom has to make sure she imposses her potential wrath upon the staff. And I try to avoid doing that anymore...feels like someone is reapeatedly stabbing me in the head."
"I'm careful and Khai eats like the horses." A lot. But she paid attention to her own food, and then the plate that was plopped in front of her, taking a moment to identify what was one it through smell and poking. "Mama's not feelin' well." Though her ears did twitch to her father's voice, show that she was paying attention even if she wasn't looking like she was. "I always finish my plate." Well...most always anyway. She was good about eating most days. Which today, was quickly once she figured her plate out.
"I...don't even know what 'Andallian' implies." Blinking to that and focusing on her food again for a few seconds. "I thought it was going to be more of an, I agree not to kill you, you agree not to kill me, have some rings, have a kiss and then get onto the good parts kind of thing." In fact she'd never really thought about big ceremonies and the like.
"Fighting over the silly things is the best part." His son was in for some knowledge if he thought that not fighting or limited fighting meant a good marriage. Sometimes you had to pick at each other just to pick.

"But he's still going to eat like you because he's going to be using magic. And you need to everyday as well." Giving her husband the look because he was undermining what she was trying to do with the child. Not that it was needed which became clear with Savvy's comment. "Most boys do."
"For some couples. Others have a different way of life." Said merely to keep the peace as she was serving up another batch of pancakes. Her daughter was up and she had a feeling her youngest would be joining them shortly as well. "Andal is the plane where Kelligrin's father was born and lived much of his life. It's simply their marriage ceremony which involves inscribing a ribbon with the two Houses and a symbolic scribing of the new joined House. Yours. I'll show you ours after breakfast if you'd like to see it."
"I have a big family that's very involved in my life. And she will never forgive me if I get married without her there to blubber over me." Nodding towards his mother and then turning back to his food. "Whatever you want, T. If you want a small ceremony with promises to not kill each other and rings, we can do that real easy. If you want a little more pomp and circumstance, we can do that too."

Malik took a seat by his daughter and took to his own food, though giving a slight frown at her mentioning.
"Yes, she said she wasn't feeling up to par. But she'll still be there for your lesson, all the same. I'm starting to think that the staff fears your mother more then they fear me anymore."
A slight grin, though a hint of the age old bitterness that piper was not feeling like she should be, or did after having her other two children. Somethings were hard to shake.
"Now you do know that you may not get everything right away. magic isn't as easy as it appears. So don't be frustrated too early if not everything goes well or comes easily."

"Er...shutting up dear." Though he laughed about it. Kaelin indeed had already mastered that womanly ability to tell men to shut up with just a look. It was good for her to know such things too. "Though yes, I do eat like a horse some days. Just not nearly as messy." Didn't like that she was saying mom wasn't feeling well though. Savvy was usually right.
"Only a little bad." Saying it rather casually as she always seemed to do when she announced such things and continued to pick things off her plate with her fork and eat. "But I can try really hard. I like magic." It made her feel all tingly. Though she gave a surprised noise before a happy coo of one.
Those noises being caused by her mother walking up behind her, finger combing her hair which startled and soothed the girl at the same time and then proceeded to pull the girl's hair up into a high ponytail so it would be out of the way of her ears and her yes both, even if the latter were less used. "Alright, we know we don't talk about me at the table. I'm fine."
"Holy Eli, there's a girl in the house that we don't own!" More or less clomping into the kitchen, taking his seat and starting to fill his plate. "Your Kel's girl, right? Better eat faster if you want to get at seconds in this house."
"Oh, well that does sound pretty at least. Though I'm not really big on keepsakes. They have the potential to be taken away and I don't like the thought of that." Frowning though at her fiancee. "Why is it that women always have to make those decisions? Man up and take charge Kelligrin."

"Morning." Giving a smile to her mother-in-law and then merely sitting there quietly as other things went on around her. She did reach over and pat Khai's thigh seeing as she was sensitive to changes in their bond chemistry.
Chuckling, Zahara ruffled her youngest's hair and then frowned. "Where's your sister? She should be down here by now." Taking the spoon she bopped Kit on the head with her spoon. "Guests eat first and get as much as they want. You may be a growing boy, but I can always make you something else. Or you can make your own food."
Kelligrin shrugged and shook his head. "Dad can help me out on this one. When we do take charge, things don't get done the way you want them and then you get upset. And I'd rather not have you upset, T. I personally would like to get married in an Andallian ceremony because my parents did, and I think it's more special to the couple. But you've never been a big one for ceremony so a quickie wedding is fine with me. I only request that my parents be there."
"Right here, Mama." A sleepy Faate moved into the room and squeezed her father's shoulder as she walked by then plopped at the table. She had very little energy these days since she'd recently begun a new level of runemagery. The blood was coming at odd intervals now. "Hey little brother. You weren't making her up."
