"And he damn well should have gotten over that too. It's ridiculous that it's taken him this long to stop being such an a**, Fianna. And you know you've felt the same way all these years. You mess up with your children, but that doesn't mean you can just abandon them and stop being their parent and caregiver. I messed up all my kids in one way or another but they're still mine, I still love them, and I still make sure each of them doesn't go to bed without knowing it." Scrubbing at a particular spot on the counter and then nodding. "Yes, he's found some girl he likes on another plane. He's talking about bringing her back to this one. If she's a mage, she'll sense what's going on and might alert him. If she's not, then it won't matter much at all."
Her head tilted as she thought over the particular term he had used and she connected it with her conversations with Piper and Zahara. Both had used the term fondly and Kaelin frowned, certain she was missing something terribly important. "Experience with a lover..." Pausing for a moment and then glancing back at him. "In the non-horselike but still horselike way?"

"You're going to wear through the counter at that pace." Letting the woman continue to vent on the matter. Better to just let it out and comment on other things. "What do you mean what's going on here?" Didn't sound like it had anything to do with Savryn.
She was puzzling things out again and that could be good or bad. It was hard to tell which was which sometimes. He had to blink at her and puzzle things out himself for a moment because he caught on too from what she had said earlier. "Um, well yes."

"Of course. not a lot of dead things besides dead things comes later anyhow..I think."
before giving a small hint of a smile to his daughter. finally one of the kids that wanted to walk at least somewhat in her father's magical footsteps, though his oldest was walking well in his father's martial and lordly footsteps.

She plopped a hand on her still bouncing daughter's head. "Calm." The girl swiftly doing as asked and merely settled for nuzzling against her mother and hugging her book. "Long as you have control on things. Just please do remember to stress to your people that she is still just a little girl and not some little experient for them themselves in thier teachings."

"I'm going to lock him in a room and treat him to the same humiliation he put me through is what I'm going to do! It's what I should have done years ago." Mumbling a few more choice things under her breath before she was distracted in the middle of her tirade. "What? Oh, well Sevilin and I have been noticing a depletion of the natural magical energy in the plane for a while now. And we've been having earthquakes with no discernible cause."
He looked confused, but she waited expectantly for his answer nonetheless. He'd know what she was talking about if he ever paid attention. Khai was usually good about that and his mother and Lady Inthara had been fairly direct with that sort of talk as well. "Yes?" So he was serious when he said lover... And now she'd drawn them...doing that. Well... "Is that what you wanted from me on our wedding night?"

"Yes I will keep everything under control and she won't be considered some kind of social experiment. I'll keep everything under tight control and you know for a fact malikhai will he won't want to see anything done that shouldn't be anymore then you or I would. Speaking of Malikhai...where's he at? I wonder how Kaelin is doing."

"Good. Otherwise everyone gets hurt and both my hair and nails go." Smiling sweetly at him before turning her attention to nowhere in particular as she felt out for her son. "Outside, as usual. But considering he's rather calm and hasn't come running around screaming, I would say she's doing fine."
A tug at her mother's hand. "When can I start learning?" And now she was all eager.
"Well, that's just not good. But things usually do have a source and a cure if you look hard enough. From what I've heard from you've all told us, this plane has been through quite a lot. Maybe it's just having a down flux and it's nothing to worry about too much."
Oh lord, here came the awkward again. Mostly awkward because of the way her mind wrapped around things and sometimes he had to watch what he said or it set her off in unpleasant ways. "Well...that's what was expected yet. Not exactly like that maybe but in general yes."

Pausing for a moment and then turning to gaze at Fianna, she sighed. "That's what we thought, too. And it's happened before that the flux of the plane's energy has effected him this way. But it's never effected me, personally. I'm not as sensitive to the energy as he is, you see, but I'm beginning to sense it as well. And this is what worries us."
Her fingers ran over their faces for a moment and she studied the expressions she herself had drawn. Copied, sure, but she'd left them as they were. There was a blissful enjoyment there that she had never personally seen before, except perhaps when she was painting. "Is it...fun?"

"Maybe it is like the time that magic left this place? Granted a deep flux is not unheard of. It usually happens when a plane is feeling stressed." Nodding her head lightly to the knowledge. "The closer one is to drawing energy from the plane itself, the sooner they feel such things. Have the occurances been making either of you ill as well?"
This woman had a way of making him feel like an awkward teenager all over again and she didn't even try half the time. Though admittedly, it was nice to know that someone could get to him like that. "Well...from what I've experienced and heard, quite fun. It's supposed to be fun after all."

"Well that's good at least. and if he's outside, that probably means either she sent him out there or they are sneaking past any quarentine Zahara has on her."
before glancing to his daughter.
"Patience, Savryn. You can start your learning tomorrow if you'd like and your mother allows. but you must be patient. all magic requires patience to learn well."

"I'm not sure how much more stress this plane can ultimately handle, Fianna. Ever since the withdrawal of the gods, it's been...fluxing more and more. And then with the renewal of the surface...maybe it just put more stress than the plane can handle." Fidgeting for a moment before tossing the rag back into the sink. "I'm really worried about it, Fianna. Sevilin keeps getting these headaches. He tries to hide them from me, but I know him too well. I've had a tummy ache or a headache every once in a while but not like him."
From what he'd experienced? She felt a tightening in her chest and wondered at the sudden sensation, attempting to relieve the pressure that was building. Was that jealousy? It was the same tightening she'd gotten in the tavern that day the women had been talking about him like he was a piece of meat. Interesting. She plucked at a loose piece on the sketchbook and gazed up at him. "Have you had a lot of experience? Have I had any experience and just not realized it?" She doubted it though. Most of the fun that she'd had had been with him.

"Probably sneaking. But sneaking by Zahara is never a true thing accomplished. She lets you sneak by and lets you think you are doing so on your own talent unless you do something stupid. Then she pounces."
To which Savryn gave a little pout, leaning against her mother's side. Patience was something she had in droves. It was how she could sit around for hours just listening for something to happen. Didn't meant she had to like it all the time though. Which meant she was going to butter mama up with nuzzles too.
"A lot has happened in what one can call a very short amount of time. Stranger things have happened." Studying the the woman for a moment she gave a reassuring smile. "Rune mages are so in tune, we often bear the brunt of a plane's pain when we are connected to it. A little extra energy would clear that headache right up. You may be feeling unwell because of him as well."
"No not really. Come on now, you know I was so socially awkward it was practically painful." Granted he wasn't completely daft to the world of women, thanks to Zykariel's ever pushing influence. "I would say you have some...you're just more of blind to it. Enjoying it over analyzing it."

"Well, how are you feeling? You're a rune mage as well and that means that you should be in tune with what's going on with the plane." Shaking her head a moment and then thinking about things. Yes, there was some truth to that. "I've been thinking of convincing him to go off plane for a bit so that he can get rid of the headache for a while. I hate it when he doesn't feel well, but I can't give him energy either. He'll be all upset."
"It wasn't painful, silly." Leaning over and resting her head on his shoulder gently. He was getting embarrassed and that's not how she wanted him to feel at all. "Some, hm? Well, would you mind terribly if I asked you to teach me....the rest?" Refusing to look at him because this was so embarrassing for her too.

"bah. I've snuck past Zahara plenty of times. At least when she's not cheating and trying to use Sevilin's runes to her advantage. But at least they seem to be doing alright then since she hasn't gone out to fetch them or the like, or maybe they did get past her."

"You only think you're sneaking. You keep telling yourself that. I can out sneak you anyday and she catches onto me. Sneaking also includes no use of magical prowess whatsoever, so don't go that route to try to win." Turning down her attention to a still nuzzly little elf, "And you Savvy, you're going to try to go to bed early tonight okay? So you'll be nice and refreshed for tomorrow, if you want to geat learning."
"I haven't really tapped into the plane...I don't have any runes here anymore and I honestly hadn't planned on using any. A rune mage connects with a plane only when they've asked it for energy for runing. Though I will admit, I feel a little off balance." Giving a dismissive wave, "Men, they'll always so fussy really. Like children."
"Sometimes it literally was. But those times I was usually getting into a fight." It was amazing how their conversations could go from innocent to interesting in a matter of seconds but apparently that was when you knew it was right anyway. "The rest? I would be a bad husband if I didn't teach you 'the rest', or anything else you'd ask of me for that matter. I refuse to be a bad husband."
